After getting the quest from Gwen, follow the south west road until you come to the river. Go across it and you should find the Broken Flute on the beach. Return to Gwen for the reward.

Dialogue

Initial dialogue

Gwen

"I left my flute by the river, but there are lots of scary monsters there now. I don't know what to do. Can you maybe go and kill them and bring my flute back?"

 Accept: "Sure, I can do that."

 Decline: "No, I don't have time."

 Ask: "Did you find my flute yet? I think I left it on the other side of the river."

"Thank you! I can't wait! I know you'll find it!"

Intermediate dialogue

Gwen

"I lost my flute! I think I left it on the other side of the river, but there are so many monsters there and I'm afraid to go get it. Do you think you could get it for me?"

Reward dialogue

Gwen

"Thanks for finding my flute."

"Oh no! It's broken! Now I'm going to have to get a new one."

Notes

Bug.If you abandon this quest, Gwen will not give it again.

Anomaly. If you form a party with anyone who has already started or completed this quest, or has given her the new flute or new cape, then Gwen will not give you the Tapestry Shred. Afterwards, everyone that will form a party with you and enter this area will have the same situation.

Anomaly. This quest is not necessary for monks to obtain the Tapestry Shred. If you give her the new flute, new cape and flowers, she will give you the Tapestry Shred. If you are in a party with some one doing this quest (giving her the broken flute) after your party member gives her the broken flute and you need to speak to her she will give you the 250 experience points. She will say "Your friend found my flute. Thank You."

• This quest is mechanically unusual. Rather than having a normal quest window, it is accepted through "normal" dialogue, and the quest reward will be accepted automatically after returning the flute to Gwen.
