Decade Waepons[edit]

Why cant you have this guy in balthazar you realize we pvpers also want access to this and some of us dont have pve characters... --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.215.212.163 (talk) at 17:14, 25 April 2015‎ (UTC).

You do know that in order to get the needed Proofs of Legend you need to do missions? Which requires a PvE char?
And that the Decade weapons are strictly inferior to max weapons in PvP? Steve1 (talk) 17:51, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
He meant ancient anniversary weapons, not decade.
I believe that the issue may run deeper because you can't get the weapon outside of the event. Also I'm not sure how unbalanced pvp is with these weapons. Maybe a pvp expert could enlighten us here. - - Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 07:58, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
No he didn't. Our posts were from 2015. We were talking about Decade weapons.
And you don't need a PvP expert to see that the Decade weapons are inferior to normal or PvP weapons in PvP.
Same goes for the Anniversary Weapons with the exception of the shield (and maybe the staff if you feel like running a caster derv in PvP. Steve1 (talk) 08:26, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
Spear looks to be a good buff to warrior, sword and axe can have some use too ? --Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 08:58, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

Tested the related spear, and the 20% bonus damage was in effect during Wayfarer's Reverie. Lord Flynt (talk) 23:41, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Anniversary Weapons + Weapon Mastery[edit]

The issue described below has now been fixed see: Game updates - 30th April. --EurydicePane (talk) 07:10, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

As many players are observing, the freeing of martial weapons from their relevant Mastery attributes has produced a problem where the weapons deal a lot less damage than anticipated. This is due to the way weapon damage is calculated. Pending a change to address this (if any), I feel like we should include a note on the affected weapons' pages that says something like:

"Due to the way weapon damage is calculated, this [weapon] will deal less damage than expected without significant investment in [Weapon Mastery], even if its attribute requirement is met."

This will hopefully help provide some clarification to people looking for info about why their shiny new niche weapons don't seem to be working. Aqua (talk) 06:42, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

These new anniversary weapons feels like they were designed by a team that has never directly worked on this Guild Wars, because we've known for years that weapons require both their respective attribute and actual requirements to be met before dealing expected damage with it. Everything over is bonus damage, everything under is penalty to damage. The intent behind the weapons is great, but their execution is still a bit lacking. Good effort, though! - Infinite - talk 09:39, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
