Date of census

Just curious, does the census takes place right after the searing (that is, right after zoning in post-ascalon for the first time), or takes in account events that may happend while on Prophecies missions, or while exploring other regions? (main concerns are spoilerific Rurik, shady Osric, and Gwen). --Fighterdoken 18:41, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

I was just considering that. My intention was to compile the list as if it was right after the searing, but then Gwen would be missing, and not a hero. So the year would probably have to be the present day from the EoTN point of view. This would definitely introduce spoilers, so I'll need to add that template. However, maybe I should list the year they were deceased, then people like Prince Rurik would also be accounted for properly. LeFick 19:02, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Due to the date given in the title of the article I would assume it to be right after the searing which would leave Rurik as alive and Gwen missing (or a new catogory, she's missing at that point but found later) and I don't know about Gaban as I can't find when the quest he seemingly dies in is, this article should probably be changed to either show as in 1072AE or have the year removed from the title. I also think someone should decide what would count as a significant change (several henchmen are "changed" others just alive. Etienne 02:27, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, but I have to ask. Admittedly I have not done all the Titan quests in prophecies, but I don't recall Adelbern ever moving to Droknar's Forge. Only king there that I recall is King Jalis.Guildwarsrunner 05:45, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

The word "residence" is not best one here but the orginial author chose it. Basically he meant the last place you see the NPC according to the storyline. We last see the King in Droknar's Forge (as an explorable area) congratulating us for our victory over the Lich but technically Titan Quests happened after the defeat of Lich so... I'm updating it to Eastern Frontier where he was for the Last Day Dawns quest – Barinthus 04:24, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Joe

I want to add him. He is a Devourer Egg in Pre (you give it to Mac and he immediately calls it Joe in The Rogue's Replacement), and grows up to be Old Mac's pet after the Searing, we see him in the Breach and again outside of Beacon's. He also accompanies Mac in the end-game Drok's area and in the Norn Tournament. So his location would be "Travels." He's not human, but he's part of the story, nonetheless... And I like him. Well, in pre they do, but in post, we never see them, so how can we be sure they are alive? We can't, hence "missing." -- Azazel the Assassin/talk 09:47, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Edit: By looking at the history, it looks as though you assume same-skin=same NPC. This is incorrect, many NPCs share the same skin. So we see many new people in post that we didn't in pre. -- Azazel the Assassin/talk 09:48, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

I think the problem becomes there is an article called Ascalon Census. It's an actual item in the game related to a quest from early Ascalon. All capitalised variations of "Ascalon census" will need to redirect to that page. If any move could be made this page could be renamed "Ascalon census (present day)" or something to give a more obvious reference to users what this page is. Ralena Stormbringer

Ralena Stormbringer apparently survives her illness, as she'd have to be alive during the Foefire in 1090 AE in order to appear in the Ascalonian Catacombs in Guild Wars 2. So I'd say it's safe to remove the "/Sick" qualifier in her status and just put her down as Alive. Fabala011 01:20, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Not quite. Vassar and Ralena are in an area called "The lovers' Crypts" and spawn out of two coffins which are poi named after them denoting that they are buried there. Naturally, none of the Foefire victims were buried. This indicates that those two, and perhaps Kasha and Nente due to their equal-or-more apparent rational behavior, did not die in the Foefire.
