Ridiculous[edit]
Even r12s are ridiculously priced! It's next to impossible for a normal player to get them in a good amount of time! Sentry007 00:44, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

- I make roughly 125k per week without opening the game at all. People who actually play can easily make more. -Auron 12:50, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- Well then, I guess you (Sentry007) aren't actually playing.--ShadowFog 13:06, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- In an ideal game, even noob players or players who didn't want to farm would be able to get whatever armor or weapons they want. Why hasn't ANet realized that it's a game which is supposed to be fun? Having to work for better weapons kind of defeats the purpose of playing tbh. That's just my piece. Invincible Rogue 22:24, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- Technically, it isn't better. In the opinion of many, it looks better. --Riddle 22:27, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- If anyone could get anything they wanted for zero work, Guild Wars would not have an economy. That is not an exaggeration. It wouldn't have a bad economy or a skewed economy, it would not have an economy at all, full stop. --216.241.108.106 22:37, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- I left this discussion because I forgot I started it...but, even if you can make 125k in a week, this is much more then a 100k. And I'm not saying I'm completely poor (I'm starting to run the dungeon that drops this), but just saying that even a high req is very expensive. Sentry007 18:54, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

- I think they're hideous as well, actually. They suit necromancers, but that's it. People don't get them because they think they look great (usually), they get them because they're overpriced as hell. Why do you think people use Tormented Swords? The thing has no edge, it looks ridiculous (and before anyone gets on my ass about the no-dachi, that thing was designed differently and weighed more, not to mention needed 2 hands and wasn't historically effective from a military perspective anyway). The good news is, with the number of times I run Shards of Orr, eventually I'm going to get one of these at a decent requirement and make a metric assload of cash. --Jette 10:46, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Watched a guildie pull a req9 healing one from SoO chest a week or so back. Goes for 200 ecto. More money than I've ever actually accumulated in my 5-year GW career I reckon. Andran Steel 02:06, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

same as any other chest drop xD 98.121.208.139 02:03, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Lost in Translation[edit]
Personaly, I think Anet could have done a little bit more to the staff to make it look like the picture. There is no spine running along the grip of the staff and most of the detail is lost. Its just some of these minior things that make this staff loose all personality. Not worth 750 ectoes. Flaming Hot Chilli 00:02, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- Nothing introduced after October 26th, 2006 is worth 750 ectos. Or even 1. —Jette 08:00, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

- Yeah, as all weapons in the entire game (probably weapons which are not in game also hehe) can drop from the zchest--88.24.9.203 22:33, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
No, only weapons that can be dropped by an enemy come out the zchest(sorry Eternal Blade doesn't follow that), and there is even a weapon that can be dropped by foes but doesn't to come out the zchest -- the IDS is the only weapon (I think) that is dropped by foes but doesn't seem to come out the zchest. I could probably make a list of all items that doesn't come out the zchest C4K3 Talk 22:39, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
Umm... The Silverwing recurve Bow, nor Dryad Bow.... and some others don't drop ^^ so yea, some DONT dorp :P- --Haunted Shadow 03:18, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Haunted Shadow
Why is it so expensive? It doesn't even look nice....

Could look much better?[edit]
So, after looking at the concept... and the final product... then some of the other stuff they've modeled...

One of the worst looking staff in game[edit]
Cood be ok for a MM, still the regular Bone Staff looks 1000 times better than this... --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.222.96.57 (talk).
- People just get angry that they cannot have expensive things. It's a nice looking skin dyed certain colors, and for sure looks better than that staff with balls of fuzz at the end. Sonic Sunday 17:21, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- You totaly fail by thinking that if someone doesn't own/want a BDS it's just cause they can't afford it. I could easily own some of these "babes" but I find the skin horrible, and that's the only reason why I don't bother buying one (same as with some other "expensive" and ugly skins/armors such as chaos gloves, silverwing or crystallines). The only highend skins that I find quite attractive are the Emmerald Blade and Dryad bow (and maybe voltaic spears). IMO Charr Staff beats this by far. but then again, that's just my opinion, as seems to be the above anon's --Lhoj 23:34, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
- Not to beat a dead horse, but I agree. It's not an amazing skin; the concept art is awesome but it wasn't implemented well. That being said, I think the Charr staff looks better as well, but I am toying with the idea of getting one of these for my rit just to round out my collection of expensive weapons. So, I can have it if I want, not having sour grapes, just not that much a fan. The main (and kind of only reason) I would get one of these is just for the hell of it (and the "prestige"). 129.8.233.131 21:21, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- I know this conversation is kind of old but it still disappoints me that people assume that just because someone doesn't like something it makes them poor I have 3 old school Q7's that I'm way more fond of than any of the newer shit. On the other hand I've sold 3 Vs's so it's really a preference thing imo. Lol so don't assume because you know what they say about assuming things =P.

Idea came from??[edit]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heroes_of_Might_and_Magic:_Quest_for_the_Dragon_Bone_Staff No way of knowing where the person who designed the skin took inspiration from, but I'd say that's a pretty close guess. If it was, 10 points to the designer for the reference and relevant word play. 124.191.60.179 17:39, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
