reference[edit]

the name Ebon Falcon might be a play on Ebon Hawk and the Millennium Falcon, both well-known SW smuggler ships -08:40, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

I never heard of Ebon Hawk. But it is more likely to be in reference to gw2:Ebonhawke which is said to be established by Thackeray, leader of the Ebon Falcons. -- Konig/talk 18:30, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
Ebon Hawk skill trivia. i played KOTOR that's why it stood out. - Sef326 11:51, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Spoiler Tag[edit]

Do we really need it? If you are reading about them you are spoiling things anyway. 58.106.43.167 09:31, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

ide sudgest keeping it there.its causing less harm than help.--Neil2250 , Render Lord User Neil2250 sig icon6.png 09:32, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
I don't think it's helping anyone since technically every lore related article based on in game content should be considered a spoiler. Spoiler tags are disruptive to the flow of the page. They are designed to intentionally be disruptive. 58.106.43.167 09:37, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
i cant realy comment anymore on this exept by saying, if you go to most spoiler tags, their pritty much in the same trouble as this one, so its either practicly remove every single spoiler tag around the wiki or leave it.--Neil2250 , Render Lord User Neil2250 sig icon6.png 09:38, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
I have no problem with removing most spoiler tags. It makes sense on the Prince Rurik page, but when an article begins with a spoiler tag, that's just silly. 58.106.43.167 09:43, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
I only added the tag because it is a spoiler to the War in Kryta. I'm not against removing it, as I typically dislike spoiler tags (primarily on userpages though, which is just pointless). -- Konig/talk 18:30, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Move[edit]

Lieutenant Thackeray: "The Ebon Falcons will go to Kryta." Koro calling them just "Falcon" in probably just a typo, she even calls them the Falcons is a different quote. 122.148.39.152 08:54, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

The sixth member of the Falcons[edit]

Could it be Vael? "you'll only see him if he wants you to" --89.247.147.180 09:50, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

I just answered this question somewhere else... No. Based on comments from the other Falcons, it's someone named "Rigo" that we haven't seen yet. It may be the person who's special skill is the Falken Punch... Arshay Duskbrow 10:03, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Vael is not really his real name - Sef326 11:51, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
I think she's just schizophrenic...--Markisbeest 12:03, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Deja vu - it also says in the notes that it could be the assassin she calls with the whistle. Tong2 15:26, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Given this quote and other context clues, I really do think it's likely that Vael is Rigo. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 00:49, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
That's what I think, too. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 08:48, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Is Captain Langmar not part of the Falcons? (Usaf1a8xx 17:23, 27 August 2010 (UTC))
Nope. She is captain of the Ebon Vanguard. The Ebon Falcons are a unit within the Vanguard. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 18:52, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Spawn Requirements[edit]

Do you have to have viewed the "Captain Langmar Arrives in Lion's Arch" dialogue in LA Keep in order to get these guys to appear in explorable areas? Or do you just have to have beaten Proph/EotN like for the Shining Blade allies? 68.118.250.100 19:56, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

It seems that you have to view "Captain Langmar Arrives in LA" or at least "Evennia Recruits the Ebon Vanguard"

Rigo[edit]

So who is rigo almost all of them mention him? Yay Killing Charr talk 21:53, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

There's two possibilities: Either the assassin Nola summons (as per her dialogue "if I blow the whistle, maybe he'll come" or he is the mysterious sixth member. -- Konig/talk 23:50, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Unit / Platoon / Other?[edit]

On the member pages, it says they are part of Thackeray's platoon. Is it a platoon or a unit or some other word? Do we know for sure? 58.106.158.34 18:06, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Both terms are used. Units can be any kind of group of soldiers. A platoon is more specific. -- Konig/talk 02:29, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

List link[edit]

Musha claims Keiran is linked... that seems a rather silly claim, as it should be obvious that he isn't... Backsword 14:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

He's linked in the first line, right under the spoiler warning. --User Oneshot O.JPGh. moo. 14:47, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Yees, and how does that makes him linked in the list? Backsword 14:51, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
He only needs to be linked once in the whole article.--User Oneshot O.JPGh. moo. 14:53, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Eh, no? Backsword 14:56, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Uh huh. Here, you can just read this. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 17:16, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Musha is correct. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 17:29, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Indeed. Doesn't explain why you claimed it was already linked in the list. Backsword 14:11, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Nobody made that claim. I assume you are referring to me, though, so, let me clarify. I never said it was already linked in the list, I just said it was already linked. This is, indeed, a true statement, as he is linked in the preceding paragraph. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 14:21, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Well, OK, you didn't say that, explicitly. But that was the context, so that's how it looked. If it's not understood as such, it seems irrelevant. Backsword 14:43, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Need new quest to acquire Ebon Falcons[edit]

I use 6 characters for pve and none of them have access to the Ebon Falcons. Is there a way to get them as allies once I beat the War in Kryta quest? If not, anet needs to add a new quest to get them. I was unaware that I needed to read the wiki in order to get content like this. From the way it looks, you can't get them once you get past a certain point during the War in Kryta campaign and if you didn't do X, Y and Z while the moon was high when the birds flew south for the winter. Maybe some of you got them but this isn't about you. It is about the peeps that did not get them and have no way get them since it is a progressive quest that can't start over. Six characters, dude...6 characters. Got plenty of shining blade but no ebon falcons. Been with guild wars since day one and the critical venue of acquiring the Ebon Falcons is bull$#!+. I've never seen such a silly way in order to enjoy content. This is pretty much anet saying: too bad, too sad. 75.191.162.88 22:03, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Bounties re-activate the War in Kryta. It's the only way to get them as allies after beating The Battle for Lion's Arch. The way to activate them would be to follow the Ebon Vanguard Allies quest. You don't get the other allies or the new spawns if the WiK content isn't active, so I don't see why you're complaining. Also "Maybe some of you got them but this isn't about you." That's one of the most asshole comment you can make (note: that's not violating the NPA, as I'm not attacking the person, but rather the comment). -- Konig/talk 22:50, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm actually confused to what this IP was complaining about. :O ♥ Tyloric ♣ 03:18, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Charr Homelands[edit]

When a player completes the battle of Lion's Arch, ending the war in Kryta, wouldn't it help if the Ebon Falcons could spawn in the Charr Homelands as well? After all, I'm pretty sure their purpose is to fight the Charr too. I know Vael does appear, but it's only randomly. 220.255.2.137 16:06, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Create a wiki account. Go to Feedback:Getting started. Create a feedback page and then suggest the above. Otherwise Anet will not read and cannot use this suggestions. G R E E N E R 18:16, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Spice and Wolf[edit]

since every member of the Ebon Falcons except thackeray is a reference to a character(s) from the light novel Spice and Wolf, shouldnt we place a trivia on this page about that?Vorthod Wiler 12:47, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

No, mainly because those individuals are the references, not the group. The references of characters seen during Trial of Zinn are not marked on that page but on their own pages - the references found in dialogues or the objects are put on that page. Likewise for this - individual references shouldn't be put here because "Ebon Falcon" itself is not a reference to Spice and Wolf. -- Konig/talk 19:32, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Ebon Falcons not spawning?[edit]

I have completed all of the WiK content and I have never seen a single one of them, now the same with bounties. How can I get them spawn? I have no clue if I witnessed dialogue 6 or not, if i completed scavenger hunt or not... even if I didn't, I cannot do it any more with my Hearts of the North completed. Is there no way for me to get the Ebon Falcons any more? 82.74.58.229 21:44, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

I don't think it's possible to complete the later part of HotN without doing the scavenger hunt and whatnot... Konig/talk 21:58, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
I never payed much attention to those, so I cannot truthfully say I completed them. I for sure took part in it, remember getting some paper bags, but if I obtained all of them, that I cannot be too sure; I have HotN completed with the wedding and everything anyway. My question is about the Ebon Falcons, is there a way to spawn them after everything is completed? 82.74.58.229 22:52, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
My point was this: I don't think it's possible to get to the Wedding without the scavenger hunt. If you've done the scavenger hunt - and the dialogue outside of the Eye - then you should be able to get the dialogue where Langmar and Thackeray talk with Salma in LA Keep. That dialogue is necessary to spawn the Ebon Falcons. The only way you could possibly have skipped that dialogue would be not completing the scavenger hunt (if you got bags, you did at least a portion of it) and have done WiK prior to HotN's first release.
In other words, I don't think it's possible to not have them spawning so long as you have WiK content active. And if it is, then it's because you're lacking having viewed dialogues, since you've done the scavenger hunt (unless, of course, you didn't complete the hunt). I'd say this: Go into Ice Cliff Chasms to see if you get Evennia, Langmar, and co. If not, head to LA Keep to see if you get Langmar and Keiran spawning (you may have gone there and been in-out faster than their dialogue begins), and/or go to the SB camp to make sure you got Evennia having left - though I think that's necessary to have access to the Keep in the first place. If you've done all this, then you have the Ebon Falcons unlocked, you're just incredibly unlucky in getting them.
I just don't see it possible that you could continue without doing the requirements to get Langmar and Keiran showing up in LA Keep. Konig/talk 00:33, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for all the advice. I've went to Ice Cliff Chasms and I only got a deldrimor scout there. Then I went to LA Keep and it was as always, nothing special, just Queen Salma and a bunch of collectors and guards. No Keiran or Langmar... I went to the camp (Dakutu Village?) and the only person there is Elder Rabne and two collectors.
It is possible I completed WiK before I started on scavenger hunt, I really cannot say now. I did not write down all my steps, and did not wiki the content, so I missed the Falcons completely; I would not be surprised if I missed some dialogues, it was almost a year ago when I was doing it. Only recently I was with a friend in a group for some bounties and I learned about them. When I go on my own, I only get the regular shining blade allies. I am gonna run around looking for some missed content but I am afraid once I have the plotline completed, I can't get them to spawn any more. Too bad /: 82.74.58.229 00:53, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
P.S. I read some comments in the Talk:War in Kryta/Walkthrough and it seems it is possible to never spawn them... although as I said I cannot be too sure about the steps I took in order to complete WiK 82.74.58.229 01:26, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
