I have redirected [[Elona Reach (explorable area)]] here because this mission has no explorable area. Shard 05:57, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Help with mission[edit]

moved from Help:Ask a game question#Elona Reach

I have a Prophies level 19 Elementalist/Ranger with mostly fire magic skills and one air magic skill. I would like to know should I be able to beat the Elona Reach mission with henchmen? Or at this point can I change my secondary profession to messmer? 74.229.228.95 00:58, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

You can't change secondaries until after you've finished the first four Crystal Desert missions (or gone to Factions and finished the Nahpui Quarter mission). Elona Reach should be henchable with a Fire Magic build, I recommend buying Meteor Shower if you don't have it yet. -- Gordon Ecker 01:25, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
It's possible to do any mission with any Profession, as long as you're used to your character (knows what works and what doesn't). Sure, some Professions would have more trouble than others, but it is still possible to beat the missions with any character (using proper Henchmen to cover any weakness your character might have).
If you're having trouble completing the mission, try getting a PuG (Pick up Group, a party with real players who randomly gather at the Outpost in order to do the mission). Sometimes they're worse than Henchmen, but if you aren't that unlucky, you could find a good/excellent group after a few times. :P --NIN37 06:47, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
And for the right price, you occasionally find players running the mission (you sit at the beginning and wait, they do the whole mission for you). Generally pretty quick, but people rarely run for free, not to mention, the mission's not all that hard if you know what you're doing (reading the mission walkthrough is a good idea if you're not sure about it). --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 07:28, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Another tip would be to spend some skill points on new skills, if you haven't done so already. Gordon mentioned buying Meteor Shower already, but see if you can find some more effective spells for your situation if your current build isn't working. --User Tero Gein sig.jpgtero 10:29, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
In Prophecies, most of the core and Prophecies skills are available as quest rewords, see list of skill quests, list of core elementalist skills and list of Prophecies elementalist skills for details. Mark of Rodgort isn't normally available from trainers until you reach the Southern Shiverpeaks, however it can be capped from Hops Flameinator in Talmark Wilderness, and if it's already unlocked you can learn it with an Elementalist Tome or buy it from an earlier trainer. If you've unlocked it and want to spend the cash on an Elite Elementalist Tome (or have Factions or Nightfall, in which case you could cap it), Elemental Attunement is also useful, and stacks with other attunements. -- Gordon Ecker 10:54, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Who doesn't enjoy a good quest reword.
But really, so long as you know where you're supposed to go, Elona Reach isn't a tough mission at all. Aggro carefully, take it slow. Pretty much any build involving Fire Magic will do well there, since there's lots of chances to really make those AoE spells earn their skill slots (Fire Storm, Fireball, and the like). --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 12:53, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
I really wish they could make this one a bit more complicated. That's just my personal opinion, though... (sarcasm) --75.86.37.121 23:16, 27 December 2020 (UTC)

TIMER[edit]

How about SOMEONE explaining about the timer that activates during mission! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Foxfire (talk).

It's given the excuse that he starts the ritual with the first crystal, and if they aren't all present by the time the ritual ends, it ruins it somehow. The logistics are iffy but that's how it is. Remember to sign your comments with ~~~~ 70.35.98.102 12:49, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
