Damnit, now i have to -image[edit]
they got me.. i read half the notes and uninstalled guild wars.. got on vent, and got laughed at... XD
Ok wow[edit]
I can forgive you for the lame stick figures for this attempt, but you completely killed it Anet! This would have been EPIC if you weren't so obvious.
Nice one[edit]
Now this is a nice joke, I can just imagine the looks on the faces of several hundreds of people (pvp mainly) when they read this update ^^ lmao ^^ nice one! -- (Tribina / talk) 21:24, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
For a second I thought it was real and my 55hp would be useles :x ^^ Jimme 21:27, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Haha, I was right there with you. -- TERO talk 21:36, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- I was like...WHOO HOO...55 is gone. personally i hate 55ing, i think it is an annoying way to cheat the system. i hate it even more when noobs try to 55 a pve mission thinking they are so "'lite" and then being 1 hit by some grawl that took away thier enchantment.
- yeah but, can we pvp ursan for a day? lol
The update is most likely an April Fool's joke. lol no. SniperFox 21:29, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- This would actually made peace and harmony worth the elite slot if it was real.--Ryudo 21:30, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

- The possibility to go back to Pre-Searing gave it away for me, since I wouldn't be able to think of a reason why Anet would put that in the game. Though it would've been cool. Sanderevers 22:05, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

- yeah the pre searing thing was too good to be true... but funniness aside, why did guild wars update and what's new?(Zyko Wolfven 22:19, 1 April 2008 (UTC))

"removed the touch range restriction; this skill no longer disables the caster's skills." hilarious!!!
- I was even already editing the article when it came to my mind like "uhm WTF?". When i read the other update sectons i noticed that this was a joke. Great ideas xD —ZerphaThe Improver 12:19, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Change the descrips[edit]
Change the wiki descrips for a day in the spirit of april fools?--Ryudo 21:39, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Nah, the update page itself is enough for this particular joke. I think changing the descriptions would be going too far :P -- Brains12 \ Talk 21:41, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
GG ANet[edit]
Only one part of this was actually funny - the "tanned hide polygons". The rit nerfs are fine (undeserved, but anything that nerfs any of the non-core classes is fine by me), but the Shadow Form buff just makes for more lameway - people can and will run Shadow Form teams just because they're untouchable. Same goes for Ursan teams, simply because it's brainless and powerful. Mesmers are quite possibly the most powerful profession now, and as if paragons weren't powerful enough they get +20 armor? But I do commend you on the scythe nerf - it's been deserved for over a year now.
Yeah, ok, I can see where you're coming from with "it's April Fools day, let's give some funny skill updates". So... Why isn't the ladder frozen? The stick figures are annoying enough, I don't particularly want to have to deal with a rollback, reset, or completely broken ladder/PvE. -- Armond Warblade 21:49, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- cause the skills didnt really get changed, duh.--Ryudo 21:51, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Shht, we are not supposed to tell him XD.--Fighterdoken 21:53, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Then what got updated? Halogod35 21:55, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Stick figures and some bug fixes with Inner Fire and a few other skills. the skill update isnt real, they really arent liek that, otherwise id be enjoying that +14 energy regeneration on my monk right now in pvp.--Ryudo 21:56, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, how do you manage that when the cap is +10? -- Armond Warblade 21:59, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thatd be the total regen, itd make me immune to skills like Malise, so yeah. btw, please dont try to question my knowledge of game mechanics when your posting stuff like the above, without even checking in game, on April 1st, to see if its true. Seriously.--Ryudo 22:01, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- lol. Malaise+ Wither+ Panic and youd STILL have +10.--Ryudo 22:02, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

- You'll have to excuse me for thinking that of all the pages on the wiki that they'd mess around with, they'd keep the game updates serious. I still don't find it funny. -- Armond Warblade 22:21, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Seems like someone had a sense of humour bypass recently, give my compliments to your surgeon, the operation was a total success. Bet yeh he takes it literally like he did the skill updates. -- Salome 22:33, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- As a note, it didn't have to do with people screwing around here, at least as far as I can tell, as the official site lists these changes, and GWW has code in place to get new additions to that list automatically, or so I have been lead to believe. 69.40.248.85 23:24, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Armond: It's April Fools' and they did a similar thing last year. You expected Anet to let this great day go by without doing a thing? IP: Sort of. The updates are copy/pasted from the official site into a subpage like this, then DPL automatically displays them on the main game updates page. Calor 01:44, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Well at least...[edit]
It shows that they acknowledge the fact that ursan is overpowered. — Teh Uber Pwnzer 22:31, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- actually - what they did was make changes that would cause adverse reactons... each of the changes is to skills players seem to feel very strongly about. For instance, the RT exhaustion changes were actually done before and caused a heavy outcry and wer reverted. Another item of note is making viictory or death title based... the purpose here is making people get mad that a pvp mechanic be integral to pvp.... look at each of the changes and it seems they had similar ideas with each of them. So all that means is they acknowledge that players believe that ursan is overpowered, not that it actually is.--71.225.181.83 (Thats Midnight08 btw -- too lazy to login anymore) 23:37, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Another big example of that was the pre-searing statement - that would have a group jumping for joy and another group screaming at anet for a full revery of the game. -- (Me again) 71.225.181.83 23:40, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see what the big deal is with Ursan being ubermighty: it's PvE-only, and it's not profession-specific. → BROWNSPANK 10:23, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- The joke about Ursan rubs in the salt about how little PvE since EotN matters to Anet. Ursan was fun for a short while but seriously if PvP had been damaged as much as PvE has been it would have been changed, the rest was quite funny.--Evil Geek 17:24, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

VwK bug[edit]
I was just out core farming with a W/Rt VwK build, and the destroyers no longer die. The dwarves at the beginning kill them fine until the dwarves themselves die, but that's it. The damage still appears on the screen, but the mobs' life meters don't decrease. Is this another part of the April Fool's joke? If it is, not funny. -- TERO talk 22:34, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Well Done[edit]
I liked this update, there was actually a sense of humor in it, and some of the changes suggest that not everyone at ANet is totally clueless as to what is broken in GW. I liked the "Increased the effectiveness of the Lucky Aura." part in particular :P Although I'm not quite sure how anyone took this seriously (sorry Armond), especially looking at the pre-searing part. Although, I would have liked there to be something about mending ;) Back to Brawl now :D 69.40.248.85 23:24, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Come on, why the heck didn't you put Mending: Changed functionality to, "While you maintain this enchantment, target ally has +1322...1334...1337 health regeneration and ignores the normal regeneration cap. This enchantment cannot be stripped. Seriously, that would've been awesome :P ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777 (talk) 01:37, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Ever since they did all the April Fools and Gaile "going to a new position" celebrate ... stuff... I have been getting a lot of lag, so have my alliance mates and guild mates, even local chat has the "OMG lag spike" more than I've seen in a while. What gives?

Lol if it was only that I'd believe it 100%. Blackout is THE worst skill in the game. Synergy with only 2 skills and leaves you vulnerable to "physicals".
