Question: Is this the kind of free quest-weapon that can be gotten multiple times like Togo's Staff/Saul's Staff ect, or is the quest not-repeatable, making this a one time only hand out? 71.105.114.161 07:06, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

You are able to get it more than once by talking to Gwen.–User Balistic B d-dark.pngalistic 07:08, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Wow, that was fast. Thanks. Now I won't feel guilty if I delete it for space reasons and suddenly decide later I want one. 71.105.114.161 07:12, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Page says you can't get more once you get to the proposal dialogue though. --Suxon my Kurdick 06:59, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
What I hate is that it isn't modable. Nor is it with mods. ~_~ -- Konig/talk 07:14, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Say what!? Aw hell naw... :( Arshay Duskbrow 07:58, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Yea, I just realized that too. I was gonna make it one of my Ranger's main Recurve Bows (Zealous), and I sadfaced when I realized I couldn't. The skin is awesome. 71.105.114.161 08:53, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Well, it would kind of suck for the people would got the medal of honor version...-68.26.73.140 04:01, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
What medal of honor version? -- Konig/talk 04:17, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
My bad, thought that it was a commemorative weapon-184.224.204.93 06:42, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Another question. If you delete Keiran's bow after witnessing the proposal dialogue, will you still be able to repeat the mini missions? --Suxon my Kurdick 07:28, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Yes, gwen gives you as much bows as you want --Dragon7 cape emblem.pngThe Holy Dragons 07:29, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm tested it, you're right, I'll delete the note on the page that says otherwise then.--Suxon my Kurdick 07:43, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
The case seems to be that she won't give it if it is in your inventory. -- Konig/talk 08:18, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi konig ;) long time no see :D --Dragon7 cape emblem.pngThe Holy Dragons 08:20, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Clarifying an edit...[edit]

The page said this in the Notes section:

  • Its odd as its not the same Bow Keiran always has equipped outside the solo missions.

I removed this, since it's very logical that this is not the bow Keiran has equipped outside these missions. This bow is one that Gwen had lying around, while Keiran's usual bow is, of course, accompanying him wherever he is right now. At least, that's my two cents. -arnosluismans (talk) 23:28, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Keiran's bow in the War in Kryta is the same skin as this bow. Otherwise, Keiran's bow is different. The original intention was that Keiran tossed aside this bow, and you got it in Watchtower Coast, but that didn't make sense considering mission 4. -- Konig/talk 04:16, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Sooo[edit]

What should we do for the one that he's wielding when you get him as a hero?–User Balistic B d-dark.pngalistic 23:33, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Its the same as the original so does anything NEED to be changed? --'Mai Yi' talk 23:35, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
...skin? ...inscriptable?

oh... --'Mai Yi' talk 23:43, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
I always knew Anet is able to fail pretty hard but replacing the original skin with this Rotwing shit and pretty much everything else related to keiran as a hero is on a new level of failing.. I was lookin forward to an inscrip version of his bow but this one
NO, Thank You! 78.35.177.49 00:47, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Someone make a page labed "Keiran's Bow (Rotwing)" with the stats and picture of the new bow. That will help with the confusion.

@IP: It seems pretty obvious that they didn't want to make this bow too good since it shares a skin with a promotional, thus exclusive skin, weapon. Besides, this bow skin makes sense - you can easily farm Rotscale while as Keiran. The skin is probably such because of that fact. -- Konig/talk 13:56, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps a note about the bow in the HoM?[edit]

This bow is sort of obtainable in GW2 through the HoM. The description ("A bow just like the famed longbow wielded by the hero Lieutenant Thackeray during the Krytan Civil War.") is a definite nod to Keiran's Bow, however the name is the same as the pre-order weapon in Proph. It's interesting, but perhaps not quite interesting enough to be trivia. I found it cool that Keiran's legacy isn't purely through his descendant. 110.174.243.167 15:49, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

They don't look that much alike to me. The GW1 version has a sort of webbing that I don't see in the GW2 version. Seems like advertising hype to me. (However, I think it would alright to add it as trivia, something along the lines of "Players who have acquired 22 points through the HOM can obtain the Ithas Longbow, which is claimed to be «just like the famed longbow wielded by KT in the Krytan Civil War.» ") – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:54, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
I think you're looking at the wrong bow (the one posted in the above section). This bow is obtainable through the HoM, and this bow is the one I was talking about. Perhaps not his favourite bow but Gwen said it was his, and the name is a bit of a giveaway. They look nearly identical to me. 110.174.243.167 12:41, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
Well yes, Keiran's Bow uses the same skin as Ithas Bow which was a bonus given to those who bought the collectors' edition of Guild Wars. The reward from the HoM is a copy of the original CE item - the fact that Keiran's Bow came along later and nicked the skin is incidental. Nowt wrong with the note, though - as long as the history is known :) --snogratUser Snograt signature.png 16:09, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

"Brawn over brains"[edit]

I decided to upgrade my substitute bow with this inscription figuring the -5 energy will be negated for a constant +15% damage bonus with no drawback. What do you think? 96.61.78.19 13:05, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

I don't think you meant this bow since it cannot be modified! Chieftain Alex 15:31, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
The IP probably meant Keiran's Bow (Rotwing). --Silver Edge 08:44, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
I ran a Darksteel Longbow on Pre-; you should have negligible energy issues provided if with 10+ Expertise and/or one energy management skill. --Falconeye 08:39, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
"figuring the -5 energy will be negated for a constant +15% damage bonus with no drawback." The IP is referring to the fact that upgrades affecting maximum energy won't be applied due to the effects of Keiran Thackeray (disguise), hence getting +15% damage without being affected by -5 energy from the "Brawn over Brains" inscription. --Silver Edge 09:06, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
