max lightbringer[edit]
Can you max out lightbringer in normal mode? And if not, till what rank can you farm LB points untill you need to continue in HM? DBZVelena | (Talk page) 03:44, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Castellan 65.30.20.38 12:40, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for telling me. DBZVelena | (Talk page) 14:45, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Castellan is a Sunspear rank, not Lightbringer rank. And to answer the original question... dunno. I do know that there were people farming LB points in the Realm of Torment before hard mode came out, and I believe that they were able to obtain Holy Lightbringer. But even in the Realm of Torment, the bounties offered are for 2 LB points per kill. If you go to hard mode, you can very easily get the 6 points per kill, plus a boss bonus. So while it may be possible in normal mode, it's going to be a lot faster in hard mode. --Nkuvu 14:47, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- now thats a better anwser. Unfortunatly I don't have HM yet. So farming Lb in mirror of lysse will be what i'll be doing :P DBZVelena | (Talk page) 14:49, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, Castellan is an accurate answer if we were talking about Sunspear ranks. But you definitely don't need to have max Lightbringer to be able to finish the game -- I have two characters that were rank 4 Lightbringers that completed the game just fine. --Nkuvu 15:07, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Considering i only just made it to rank 3. i think there will be some farming involved. DBZVelena | (Talk page) 19:20, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have 2 characters that never farmed anything that have finished the Nightfall campaign, a Paragon and a Dervish. Strategy rather than rank should be what you should concentrate on. Alaris 14:09, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not to worried, i'll prob go in to the last mission with an all guildies team and then we'll own him. DBZVelena | (Talk page) 23:02, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Lightbringer rank 6, bug?[edit]
- → moved from User talk:Gaile Gray
Is lightbringer rank 6 supposed to be "Conquering Commander" ? That really looks like someone cut 'n pasted into the wrong title track :P (maybe they meant it to be under the Commander title track, not lightbringer). Check out the progression, r6 sticks out like a sore thumb. --Tankity Tank 10:30, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- This is not a BUG... --Grethort 10:58, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- My guess is that it was done by a "Command & Conquer" fan : D I think it would be better to ask Emily first, as she's the one dealing with this kind of trivia, and if she denies it then we could think maybe a mistake has been made. Erasculio 12:18, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's possible the two titles were origionally going to merge at that point? ‽-(eronth) I give up 13:38, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- I sent an email to ask about this. Even with the humour, it's a bit odd, and it seems to me that it would cause confusion to players. "Errr... what title track is that again?" :) --Gaile 01:40, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- Our excellent QA team wrote back within minutes to tell me that this is likely a bug and that it appears that the titles were not properly "hooked up." I anticipate that this will be corrected in a new build in the near future. Thanks so much for pointing out the mis-named titles! --Gaile 02:05, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- This will be fixed in an upcoming live build. Thanks again, guys. --Gaile 06:26, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

- Well I noticed something while working on my titles for GW:EN.. Every time someone visits a high end area in Elona, and they have a title like: Kind of a Big Deal, People Know Me or I am Very Important, they have to switch to their lightbringer rank title. Wouldn't it make more sense that if you have maxed out the lightbringer title, that you also got the extra dmg/defense when you wear your Kind of a Big Deal, People Know Me or I am Very Important title? I mean these titles are made to show them off in towns, but in these high end area's you have to switch to lightbringer title to get extra defense/dmg ;-)... just an idea =) -- (Tribina / talk) 20:12, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- You've got my vote on that one... I often forget to switch to my lightbringer title until I've tried out an area once or twice without it. KevinKite 22:41, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's a really good point. Let us put that in this week's community summary and see if that can be amended soon. --Gaile 04:13, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- w00t /happydance. Thanks for reading this Gaile, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed now ^^. -- (Tribina / talk) 05:46, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- Personally I don't think it is suchs an good idea. What if you max out so many titles that all their effects will show in the bar with all things that currently effect you. Things might get very messy real quick in that case. - Damadmoo 08:24, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

damage bonus[edit]
Does this damage bonus apply to all kinds of damage (spell, trap, etc), or only to damage dealt with a weapon?
- With 10 points in Wilderness Survival and rank 4 in LB, my dust trap deals 24 dmg to margonites instead of 20. So I guess the damage bonus applies to all kinds of damage. --Funky Jah (talk) 08:12, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Not all abaddon servants[edit]
The Vanguard title affects ALL charr. Not only those found in the Eye of the North. But this skill does not affect all the abaddon servants: - Prophecies Titans. (They source in the realm of anguish) - Most creatures found in the Tombs of Primeval Kings. (Some of them even look the same as other that are affected by it) - Shiro'ken Demons. (Many of them are even found again in the realm of torment) Shiro and the lich are abaddon servants, but they are not 'demonic' like those. MithranArkanere 00:50, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- The reason it doesn't work on other campaigns is that it would give an unfair advantage to people that own Nightfall in completing other critical campaign missions, as Abbadon's servants are game-wide, and are even end-game bosses, like you pointed out. True, it gives an advantage to Prophecies owners that have Eye of the North for the Vanguard bonus, but the missions involving Charr aren't that difficult in the first place, and Charr arent in any end-game, more difficult missions, nor are there any end-game bosses that are Charr. 67.172.93.185 06:37, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- The Shiro'ken in the Realm of Torment are not servants of Abaddon but rather of Shiro Tagachi. And the titans of prophecies are controlled by the lich. Both very possibly reasons for the non-effect. It would match up with lore as well. Drago 01:33, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Damage reduction[edit]
I thought this did some sort of damage reduction yet it says nothing about it on the article, what-so-ever.--§ Eloc § 03:15, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

LB rank 3[edit]
i think only the bravest of wammos could ever make it far enough into nightfall to get this prestigious title --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:68.54.150.61 (talk).
Rank 1???[edit]
Do you only have to be rank one to display this title (in the HoM)?--Unendingfear 01:38, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Is this like sunspear...[edit]
where you can only get to a certain title rank in Normal mode? If so, it doesn't say on the article. 24.233.254.51 18:28, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- I believe there is one area in the Realm of Torment where you can get to rank 8 Lightbringer in Normal Mode, though I don't remember which area. Regardless, it would be much faster - and easier - to beat Nightfall and start vanquishing the Desolation. - Ara ~ A R A ~ 23:10, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Lightbringer Signet[edit]
Anything I need to do after reaching Rank 3 to get this skill? I have been Rank 6 for the longest time now, and the Seeker of Whispers has never offered me this skill.
Remains of sahlaja , most rep?[edit]
a somewhat confusing matter in which i cant seem to find the answer for :s. when going up to the temple of monolith do you get more rep for killing alem first or last? honestly i've read over the blessing time and time again and i cant seem to find out whether or not i get more rep for killing first or last. This is probably due to the ambiguous blessing description (in my opinion) any help on this would be great ;o If this is answered already in the article just say, if not its perhaps a good idea to note it --Crazi shot 18:14, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- This is really the wrong talk page. Alem is an undead boss, not a Margonite. Killing him will add to the Sunspear rank if you have Undead Hunt active, but will not give you Lightbringer points. But the bounties for SS and LB work the same way, so here's how it goes. In Hard Mode for Undead Hunt, you get 8 SS points whenever you kill an undead creature. When you kill a boss like Alem, you get a bonus. Multiply the number of undead you have killed to that point while under the bounty by 8. If you've killed 10 undead, you'll get 80 bonus points. If you've killed 20, you'll get 160 bonus points. The bonus is capped at 200 points. So make sure you've killed 25 undead before killing Alem, and you'll get the max bonus. Anything beyond 25 undead kills, it doesn't matter if you kill Alem before or after the rest. That's why this is such a great LB farm under Margonite Battle. By the time you get to the three Margonite bosses in the temple, you will have killed 25 Margonites (6 points per) with a bonus max of 150 for killing each boss. PJ 16:28, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
How to start obtaining Lightbringer points?[edit]
Does this happen automatically, once you enter Vabbi? Because looking under [H], there is no mention of Lightbringer. How do I know if I am accumulating Lightbringer points, if they aren't there? Does that make sense? I came to Vabbi specifically to earn Lightbringer points, and I just don't see them! Could some kind soul please explain how one even gets started earning Lightbringer points? I am WAY too confused! I have been running quests, with no evidence of accumulating Lightbringer points. I am sorry... I am just so very confused, right now!--196.52.39.32 02:32, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- If you have done anything listed under the Acquisition section, then you should be able to see your lightbringer points under "Titles" in your Hero panel. G R E E N E R 17:15, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
Point Acquisition from Missions[edit]
My character completed all Nightfall missions in both NM and HM and has a grand total of a little over 9,500 points (some more has come from bounties and a handful from quests). The article suggests that getting master reward in missions beyond Grand Court, in NM it grants 855 points, and HM grants 2,025 points. This means at a minimum a character finishing all eight missions with masters in NM should have 6,540 points in addition to HM should be a total of 16,200 should be a total of around 22,740. Was this altered at all since release? That's a pretty huge discrepancy. I'll make a note of it next time I have a character run through a mission but . . ? SammyB (talk) 14:40, 2 January 2023 (UTC) Realised it was a cumulative total oop SammyB (talk) 15:13, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
