sooooooo hard :( I think the bit about trying to solo really is the best strat, if possible maybe place the henchies so that they can heal you, and maybe the attack the spawns 68.104.205.160 06:08, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

So I beat her with henchies and heroes. My tactic? Flag heroes back and run in, once she uses Consume Soul (or while she's casting it) I un-flag hench/heroes and call her as my target. I started off attacking her with Club of a Thousand Bears, which has a 12 sec recharge. So after it recharged, one more hit then sent all henchies way back again (to the other side of the room, but not across the bridges). This was so that consume would only hit me, but would allow my whole team to do more dmg than I could alone (a few deaths allowed me to figure this out ^^ ).
So, when there was only 1 more consume soul left before Storm of souls or whatever that blasted skill is, i sent my team to the other end of the room, near the door, so they were off radar (having them on the bridge did NOT work), then used a bow to try and get her to use consume soul on me as far away as possible (so the henchies would not have to aggro her to rez me). ANNNNND repeat... (oh, between bouts with her, make sure to kill off the lackeys she spawns) 68.104.205.160 07:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
As a ranger I killed her in about 50mins with my flat bow. Its pretty easy (but time consuming): Flag you heroes/hench behind the bridge and position yourself between the bridge and the first trap. And then you can start shooting. Murakai won't come to you but will flee after the first hit or cast her call, which can be interrupted if you shot a interrupt right after your attack skill. With burning arrow or something it would be much faster, I had only penetrating attack with me.
That was the only thing down there I could do with a 60%DP party without restarting the whole dungeon. - Khan Reaper Kerensky 09:45, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Key to defeating her is constant knockdown. Bring Devona, Cynn, Herto and Mhenlo, a Rt/N or other Minion Bomber (very helpful), another LoD (can be Ogden) and a paragon supporter (Song of Purification or Cautery Signet) with party-wide shouts and a bit damage. I had a Mesmer with Signet of Illusions, Arcane Echo, Summon Assassin (can't remember name ;d), Finish Him!, You Move Like a Dwarf!, Images of Remorse, Kitah's Burden and Resurrection Signet - can be changed for other rez, but I never had to use all rez signets from henches. Knockdown every few seconds and interrupting her spells is crucial. Oh, Talon is nice too, because he cripples her for a long time. And a little damage from Deep Wound. AbedeusUser Abedeus Sig.jpg 09:43, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

I managed to beat her with the regular PvE approach: I took all my H&H with me and killed first her Servants, then slowly chipping away at her health. I only suffered 2 complete party wipes, although some of my henchies were at 60%. It is do-able, but so far it has been the most difficult dungeon end-boss I've encountered. (Catacombs of Kathandrax were just too easy in the end by comparison.) -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 11:24, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
4th time through, and didn't die once on her, nor was she ever able to fill her bar up. Had my sf hero bring maelstorm, my ranger had broad head arrow, and then there was cynn. Once I was able to body block her I kept daze on her, or if it was not going to be recharged in time I had my ele hero cast maelstorm. Just kept those two and she went down no prob :) 68.104.205.160 02:21, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
I completed the dungeon just now, and it was easeh (the hardest part was my wipe on the third level with all those Poison Darts). Moebius + Death Blossom spam against normal foes, then Horns of the Ox against Murakai. She only got to fill her Power bar just over halfway :p. Snares and kd are ideal against her... I wouldn't recommend bringing an Assassin, though, Cracked Armor is a pain (though I only died twice)
Question, though... even though the Surmia Carving is needed to finish the quest, it doesn't disappear from my inventory. This COULD be a bug, unless someone has found another use for it... Saph 11:20, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I've perfected my tactics so far now, that I have no trouble defeating her(with heroes/henchmen) without dying myself. I use "You move like a dwarf" on her, whenever she uses Murakai's Consumption and I have Livia with a Spiteful Spirit build, including Guilt and Mistrust...that combo completely knocks Murakai out ^__^ LunarEffect 16:46, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

I henched her easily with Jora, Ogden, Vekk, Talon Silverwing, Mhenlo, Zho, and Eve. Jora is an "I Will Survive!" / Dragon Slash spammer, Vekk is a fire nuker with Savannah Heat and Meteor Shower, and Ogden is a Glimmer of Light spammer with condition removal. We just bodyblocked her into a corner, Zho shot her with Broad Head Arrow repeatedly, and the rest was just sitting there waiting for the ghostly wench to die. Maybe I got lucky, but it was hilarious seeing skill after skill pop up and get immediately cancelled. You just have to watch out for the Storm of Souls... *shudder* KrelusDerian 03:17, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

This is rather easy with heros and hench really. I was sf ele, razah mm, vekk sf ele, dunkoro woh monk and i had cynn, herta, mhenlo and lina as hench. Just flag them around, use pain inventer, really easy. Limu Tolkki 13:55, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

She is rather annoying isn't she? 4 party wipes until i killed her, hero/hench team, its pretty easy if you can keep her interrupted. I was using my barrage/sy and it was pretty easy to keep her interrupted and kill all her minions at the same time with barrage.

Drops[edit]

Murakai does not drop items herself, a chest spawns after you kill her. So I removed the items dropped section. --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 16:25, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

I disagree, She does drop items, i've had her drop blue items. Not sure if she would ever drop gold items, but she does...drop items. 71.223.82.184 22:13, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
She definitely drops items. It seems its very rare though. She dropped me a Golden Rin Relic the other day. *sigh* I wish I had remembered to take a screenshot. :O -- Marisa 21:55, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
I just got a drop of white Savage Daggers from her, I can provide a screenshot if needed Aeriath User Aeriath Schiffer Signature2.png 13:26, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
She just dropped 34 Piles of Glittering Dust, which is kind of undead-specific... Paddymew 09:42, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

The Real damage of Soul of Storms[edit]

You can avoid a party wipe of this skill, as I have survived at least 2 in one battle (no henchies died either). The real damage of Storm of Souls is Fragility. Her summoned lackeys will put fragility on as many people as possible, then when storm of souls is activated, those with fragility take the initial 100dmg, +50? dmg(double norm for boss?) for each condition (500dmg), which will kill pretty much every character (including those with enchants because this skill also strips those unless i'm mistaken). So...if you can keep her lackeys down, or you can have a heavy hex remover person, this might help :) 68.104.205.160 00:44, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Speech Bug[edit]

Bug Bug. Although Murakai has the anatomy of a female human, upon death she uses a male-sounding voice.

I don't know if this is worth adding to the page, if you think so, please reply. LunarEffect 17:45, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Noticed this myself when i just cleared the dungeon. I'd say add it - 79.74.22.0 13:03, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
I dont think its a bug... Limu Tolkki 14:17, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Probably not. Just something some programmer forgot to change, or didn't care to. OR, maybe Murakai was a smoker? You ever think of that? xP RitualDoll 04:36, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Profession = necro[edit]

Read the master dungeon guide — Skuld 20:47, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

I contest this statement - I have just seen Murakai drop a Warrior Tome. Can prove it with a screenshot if required. Adam144 18:25, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

i'm in ur wikiz changin ur opininz; http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Murakai_warrior.JPG -b.r // talk 15:00, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Hasn't it ever occured to you how lazy A-net is making foes? Murakai, being a female NPC, probably uses Elementalist emotes when casting, right? I've never fought her, but I can assume this because they pretty much all do. Just like I can assume that when they make a foe, it defaults as Warrior because that is the first class on the left. She doesn't use any profession specific skills, so that must mean that she's supposed to be a Necromancer, but because it wouldn't change anything (except armor, but I don't know how they deal with that) it was left as it was. Therefore, you get Warrior tomes from a "Necromancer". RitualDoll 04:33, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
It is quite possible she was 'supposed' to be something or other. But we document the ame as it is, not as we think it ought to be. Backsword 17:28, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
by that logic, then shouldn't we document The Master as a warrior, since he's wearing warrior armor, and heaven FORBID we document him as a necromaner based on his skills but instead by what we can physically see of him? (discounting his aura, of course, because that just leads us to think that he's supposed to be a necromancer) --User Timeoffire45 sig.jpg Timeoffire45 17:38, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
It depends what the game classifies him as. If he drops a necromancer tome, he's obviously a necromancer, despite the skin used. By that logic, he's have to be a N/W or W/N because of his usage of necromancer skills. --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 17:40, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Murakai in Hard Mode[edit]

Doesn't seem she can be interrupted in hard mode. I slowed it down with Migraine and still can't interrupt it. Either she's uninterruptable, or interrupt resistant like Kuunavang. Lightblade 05:23, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

I just banged myself against her until my H/H team got DP'd out, and only saw her interrupted once. I was playing a BHA/interrupt ranger and she didn't get dazed either. Ouch. --Ishmaeel 11:11, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Migraine + Arcane Conundrum are your friends. Get two rangers with full interrupt bars and two mesmer chaining these. Paddymew 09:47, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
Savage shot interrupted just as it should Barbe-Q Michael 21:41, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Aggro is strange[edit]

Some notes have to be altered. In an update she has gotten a weapon. That was the reason that she did not attack and run away. Cba to do it myself, it's 3:13am here o.o Oh, and Diversion>Murukai (along with positioning of only one person in her area). BlazeRick 02:14, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Extremely Easy[edit]

Once you get to Murakai it's cake, as long as you have an interrupt hero/hench, you can prevent her from gaining health, therefore allowing you to run in continuously and eventually killing her. You can also pull her servants in to the fire mushroom to her right, killing them.

Ok I'm rewording my previous entry so it makes more sense. Dwarven Battle Stance combined with Dwarven Stability and a good party to do some damage to her can pretty much own her. I beat Murkai and only let her cast one spell. --Turai-Ossa39 21:44, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Trivia Fun[edit]

Lady of the Night also refers to a prostitute back during the Reinaissance times, so I added that. Than 11:04, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Why only during the renaissance times? The same phrase is still used for prostitutes nowadays as far as I know. --Arduinna talk 11:43, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
she seemed to have an orgasm when you approached her, "ooooohhh" LOL--Crazyejackson715 20:40, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

I don't recall people calling other prostitutes Lady of the Nights now-a-days...except at the Renaissance Fair. Than 02:09, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

I've heard prostitutes referred to as ladies of the night in this day & age aswell. --TyrianShield 01:56, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
It was a commonly used phrase all the way up to the mid 1950's at least. It's fallen out of use a bit, but it is by no means restricted to the Renaissance.12.6.238.154 16:21, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

Storm Of Souls and Calamity[edit]

Okay, so I have a question (and it feels mildly stupid, but I'm going to ask anyway): every time I have ever fought Murakai or gotten a run through CoF, I have NEVER seen her use Murakai's Storm of Souls or Murakai's Calamity. The only thing I have EVER (in over r8Vanguard+ runs) seen her use when her power meter is full is Murakai's Censure. Do there need to be multiple foes within agro range of her for her to use the storm of souls or calamity? There are no notes anywhere to indicate that this is the case, so I'm mildly confused. Any feedback would be helpful. --User Timeoffire45 sig.jpg Timeoffire45 20:29, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

I have only seen her use her Storm of Souls one or maybe two times, out of more than ten runs, and one of the times, there was only a single target within aggro range (me, ouch). Though it could've been Calamity as well. Personally, I've never seen her use Censure. Paddymew 07:48, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Profession[edit]

How do we know she's a warrior? --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 17:32, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Section above. Sorry. --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 17:33, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
She's not, actually. A-Net simply (if you read the section about, as you said) got lazy and decided to make her a warrior as it's the default profession for any new character and she lack both an aura and any real skills. The lore calls her a necromancer and the nature of her skill ssuggest that she is a necromancer, but--of course--we can't look at what is written out for us and instead only see a mistake on A-Net's part. Ah well. I'm going to be a good wiki-citizen not going to start a revert-war over this. --User Timeoffire45 sig.jpg Timeoffire45 17:41, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support[edit]

I found that this works quite well, as so far Murakai has had a very predicatable attack pattern. Clear the groups on the left side (I also do right for the extra Deldrimor points) and then aggro her by using EVAS. She usually then calls a few servants and uses Consumption, which the summoned assassin will be killed by. This usually gives my melee heroes/henchies time to get into position to keep her away from the casters. They usually stop her from moving completely so AoE skills work very well. Whenever she calls more servants, use EVAS again as she is likely about to use Consumption again. For some reason the skill focuses on the assassin and doesn't affect my melee-ers much at all. An interrupter will stop her using this skill as often and will slow down how fast her rage bar charges. If all goes well you should be able to kill her before the rage bar fills. This was done in normal mode, and i thought I'd add this as an alternate strategy for anyone having trouble and looking up the wiki. - Aeriath 01:10 30 June 2009 (UTC)

If You Are a Warrior[edit]

If you happen to be a warrior, just take a smiter monk with Ray of Judgement and Judge's Insight. During the battle, maintain Judge's on yourself and when she summons her Servants of Murukai, have your monk hero cast Ray of Judgement; they'll go down almost instantly, and you'll be fine if and when Murukai uses Murakai's Storm of Souls, since your party won't be suffering from Fragility.

Also a warrior [w/p] I flagged my heroes behind(the) bridge and just speared her to death. Took around 8-9minutes(hitting 20~40 per hit w/ lifesteal) but I was basically afk the entire time, no health regen <3 95.83.212.106 17:54, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
