Acquisition[edit]

To expand on the tests done so far:

  • Char A did Augury Rock and received a Proof.
  • Doing Augury again w/ Char A didn't yield another Proof, regardless of difficulty or whether the Proof had been moved to inventory.
  • Char B did Augury and received a Proof as well.
  • Char A did The Great Destroyer and received a Proof.
  • Char A did Against the Charr and received a Proof.

Steve1 (talk) 21:20, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

A friend did Nolani Academy and recieved a Proof, but on doing Great Northern Wall recieved no proof. Suggesting that perhaps only one per region, but this seems contrary to other people I've heard. - Andythrax

  • Char A did Augury Rock and Elona Reach, but only received a Proof for the first mission of the Desert area

Make sure to check the anniversary notes ;) http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Feedback:Game_updates/20150422 --Stephane Lo Presti talk 21:44, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Whenever you acquire a proof, you will receive a message your current region (e.g. "your heroism in the Jade Sea" or something like that). 85.178.196.140 16:09, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

I can verify that Against the Charr qualifies for the Charr Homelands, Curse of the Nornbear qualifies for the Far Shiverpeaks, and GOLEM qualifies for Tarnished Coast. I will test Depths of Tyria next. I will have videos up of each of the four missions on YouTube for verification purposes.

  • Fronis Irontoe's Lair does not qualify for anything
  • Secret Lair of the Snowmen does not qualify for anything
  • Ooze Pit does not qualify for anything

HanokOdbrook (talk) 13:11, 30 April 2016 (UTC)

Hey, thanks a lot for your efforts. Just a quick note before you do some more tests: The three Dungeons you mentioned don*t count because they're dungeons. Only missions count (and those EotN primary Qs). Cheers! Steve1 (talk) 19:01, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
That's what I suspected after I completed "Watch It Jiggle". It appears that the "Depths of Tyria" are only counted via the primary region missions that take place in the Dungeons and not the actual Dungeon Missions themselves. Kind of a bummer as that eliminates some of the Dungeons from qualifying altogether. UPDATE: I just finished A Gate Too Far, and it did not credit completion for Depths of Tyria. Likewise, Finding the Bloodstone did not complete Depths, but gave credit for Tarnished Coast instead.
HanokOdbrook (talk) 23:40, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
I indented your signature, hope you don't mind.
Last year, I did some runs/tests and from what I remember the EotN Qs were grouped according to the storyline and the Hero's Handbook. So only 2 Qs counting for Depths of Tyria and 3 for the other 3 regions. But I wasn't certain any more. Nice that you've tested it. ;) Steve1 (talk) 09:41, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
No problem at all! Just wanted to make sure to save everyone time in the future - I got a lot of alts to run! At any rate, I am uploading 4 videos today that show playthroughs of some of my testing, I think that should be good enough for proof of verification. As I have time this week, I am going to try to run through the other missions and just update the wiki as I get the results. The vids are going to be included in this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLl0iMBD8jtokXV52TTWeNiV_2U8Fz2Iq2
UPDATE 5/4/16 - Verified Assault on the Stronghold and Blood Washes Blood.
UPDATE 5/5/16 - Verified Warband of Brothers and The Elusive Golemancer for their respective regions. HanokOdbrook (talk) 13:11, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
Hi, everyone. I now can verify that "A Time For Heroes" qualifies for the Depths of Tyria region and the message "Your success in Depths of Tyria..." appears accordingly. Herculite67 (talk) 19:38, 5 May 2016 (UTC)

Specific regions[edit]

"Your success in Ascalon has rewarded you with a Proof of Legend."
"Your success in Shiverpeaks has rewarded you with a Proof of Legend."
"...in Kryta has..."
"...in Maguuma Jungle has..."
"...in Crystal Desert has..."
"...in Ring of Fire Island Chain has..."
"...in Shing Jea Island has..."
"...in Kaineng City has..."
"...in Echovald Forest has..."
"Your success in The Jade Sea has rewarded you with a Proof of Legend."
"...in Raisu Palace has..."
"...in Istan has..."
"...in Realm of Torment has..."
In case anyone was wondering, the Northern and Southern Shiverpeaks are referred to as "Shiverpeaks" and Raisu Palace and Imperial Sanctum are referred to as "Raisu Palace". Shiverpeaks, Maguuma Jungle, Crystal Desert, Ring of Fire Island Chain, Echovald Forest, and Realm of Torment have dubious to incorrect grammar (missing a "the" for most of them), and "The Jade Sea" capitalized "The" incorrectly. I'll get to the rest of Nightfall and EotN later, but it looks like the words are pulled directly from interior data and not grammar checked individually. Blue Totoro 10:38, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
The uppercase first letter of "The" is part of the Jade Sea region name, hence why the wiki article is called The Jade Sea. -Chieftain Alex 11:44, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
Huh! You're right! Either way, that's still not good grammar in English, even if it's at least consistent with itself. It's also weird that The Jade Sea is the only one that does that. Blue Totoro 06:40, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Or not! The Desolation does it too! Still, only two out of all of them is pretty low.
"...in Kourna has..."
"...in Vabbi has..."
"...in The Desolation has..."
"...in Far Shiverpeaks has..."
"...in Charr Homelands has..."
"...in Tarnished Coast has..."
"...in Depths of Tyria has..."

Farming[edit]

So in order to get as much proofs as possible one need to complete as much missions as possible but one per region per character ?
At least 9 regions can be done fast and easily : Istan = Chahbek, Vabbi = Tihark, Crystal Desert = Augury Rock, Kryta = Riverside Province, Ascalon = Great Northern Wall, Shing Jea = Minister Cho's Estate, Kaineng 2 = Imperial Sanctum.
4 eotn regions can be done quite fast and bear synergy with eotn titles : Charr homelands = Against the charrs, Far Shiverpeaks = Curse of the nornbear, Tarnished Coast = GOLEM, Depths of Tyria = A time for heroes --Ruine Eternelle (talk) 11:45, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Consulate Docks is a good choice for Kourna, it's at least as fast as some of the others you've listed. I wouldn't have thought Riverside Province was a fast mission... - Alexis Toran (talk) 16:55, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Oh, and Abaddon's Gate and Ruins of Morah are fast. Gate of Pain is a fair alternative to Abaddon's Gate if you're not confident of beating it. - Alexis Toran (talk) 17:07, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Riverside is runnable quite easily (no ench/stance removal, no kd) , you just need to take the scepter and go straight to the bridge at the end of the mission ;). Augury Rock, Chahbek, ATFH, Tihark and Imperial Sanctum are by far the fastest and easiest and should be done first. Others I've mentionned are medium length but really easy since it's all about running or killing a few (weak) foes. Missions in the ring of fire island, the realm of torment or in the desolation are hard to reach and can be quite a challenge, therefore they are not so interesting unless you need it for a toon or a zaishen mission. Regarding Kourna, consulate dock is good, but venta cemetery might be faster. All in all great update from anet, make people use chars they otherwise rarely use and great reward weapons ! :)--Ruine Eternelle (talk) 17:52, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Tomorrow (27 April) you can complete the Abaddon's Gate Zaishen quest at the same time as getting the Proof of Legend for Realm of Torment.
On 29 April, you can complete the Augury Rock Zaishen quest at the same time as getting the Proof of Legend for Crystal Desert.
On 30 April, you can complete the Grand Court of Sebelkeh Zaishen quest at the same time as getting the Proof of Legend for Vabbi; an alternative to Tihark Orchard if you want additional rewards (i.e. Lightbringer points and Copper Zaishen Coins); the master's reward for Grand Court of Sebelkeh is 6 minutes in normal mode, so it should take less than 6 minutes to complete, which is probably around the same amount of time taken to complete Tihark Orchard.
On 6 May, you can complete the Against the Charr Zaishen quest at the same time as getting the Proof of Legend for Charr Homelands; however, the Anniversary Celebration is scheduled to end on 6 May at 19:00 UTC and the Against the Charr Zaishen quest becomes available on 6 May at 16:00 UTC, so you would have less than three hours to complete the Against the Charr Zaishen quest before the Anniversary Celebration ends. --Silver Edge 22:45, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Great idea to put a reminder of zaishen missions here sir ! Tihard is still the fastest though, ~4-5mins --Ruine Eternelle (talk) 06:58, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
I like Venta Cemetary for Kourna. Just don't do the bonus, and it's pretty quick, like Riverside Province. Blue Totoro 04:10, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
Moddock crevice can also be done for kourna, bypassing bodyblock with a shadow step move and running to Bayel and the Hunger. However you still need to kill these two guys so it must be slower--Ruine Eternelle (talk) 06:58, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
Iron Mines of Moladune can be completed pretty fast with a running build to the Seer (to trigger the cutscene), then it's just a short fight to the end of the mission.C0Zm1c (talk) 16:52, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
For the Jade Sea, Unwaking Waters would be the fastest, especially if you follow the "under three minutes" method mentioned on the page. --Silver Edge 07:42, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
The Frost Gate is runnable (probably the same speed % moladune w/o infusion run), provided you have at least enough firepower to kill the stationary engineers and a group of three foes including a boss. SF to avoid ice golems' snare and shadow step skills to avoid bodyblock (also beware of melee interrupts and stance removals). Foes are so weak there's no problem to survive with two or even one protection skill.--Ruine Eternelle (talk) 16:17, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
I just did solo The Wilds with El/A. I don't recommend anyone to try to run it : mesmer with interrupts and ench removal, life steal skills, crippled condition and 2 vine walls you cannot cross unless you kill a certain tree (which is usually healed by another plant). The spider boss at the end also has a healing skill.--Ruine Eternelle (talk) 17:51, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
(Reset indent) Just my two cents on Kourna for fast missions: Rilohn Refuge. - Infinite - talk 23:10, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
Venta Cemetery (mentioned above) can be completed in as little as 3 minutes, if you can keep at least one Sunspear evacuee alive while running along the northern edge (spamming both Incoming! and Fall Back! on a couple of heroes and not getting too far ahead of the evacuees works). C0Zm1c (talk) 17:54, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

Mission times for master rewards[edit]

Why would you need to mention the time requirements to get master rewards from these missions? Afaik you don't need to get masters' to get a Proof. Jeree95 (talk) 19:36, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

I listed the Master's reward maximum completion time to help determine which timed missions can be completed in the shortest amount of time. --Silver Edge 06:11, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Ok... Although many Master rewards can be acquired in a lot shorter time, and some shorter missions don't have a time requirement... Also wasn't there some guide somewhere in this wiki that listed the shortest/easiest missions of each region? Idk, I feel like the time requirement column is misleading and unnecessary... Jeree95 (talk) 19:14, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Said guide has been removed it seems. Anyways, I think it would be just simplest to, say, mark the easiest/fastest missions to get proofs from with an asterisk rather than confuse people with Master time requirements. Jeree95 (talk) 19:18, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Oh well, I only just now noticed you mentioned it in the article. Do as you wish. Jeree95 (talk) 19:19, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
It does feel pointless, the whole NM/HH thing should be cut in my opinion. --DefinitelyNotHanz (talk) 15:36, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Duration[edit]

I'd help with filling the missing parts, but first we should define what's considered to be short/medium/long. How about short = less than 5 mins, medium = 5-15, long = anything above that. Copying the mission duration from each mission page wouldn't be accurate because going for the bonus isn't needed and even low level ones will be run by max level characters. --DefinitelyNotHanz (talk) 15:47, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Forgot Which Regions I Did...[edit]

So I got mission handbooks from NPCS in the major cities and figured out which ones I had yet to do!--100.33.148.117 03:50, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[edit: however, i had hit max ranks for LB and Sunspear so I couldn't see for NF...]

Not receiving proof on Level 5 character[edit]

I have a level 5 Mesmer that I did Great Northern Wall a second time on (char is at least a few years old). I did not receive a proof after completing the mission. Is there another requirement? I had done the mission on a different character a few hours earlier and received one.

There is a bug, if your inventory is full, you will not be given one. Even if you have a Proof of Legend in your inventory it doesn't increase the stack count, and it needs its own empty space.Rkhaili (talk) 08:44, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
I should have mentioned that there was absolutely bag space.

Bug: Don't get proof when inventory is full[edit]

Doesn't seem like you get this if you have a full inventory at the end of the mission. I tried two missions like this and didn't receive it for either. Careful everyone!

Shiverpeaks[edit]

1) The categorization of missions has been done by whomever and is quite debatable. It can't count as an authority.

2) If it were the deciding factor, Ice Caves of Sorrow would be the choice, since it's "medium", thus even shorter.

3) I disagree with IMoM being medium/long and thus changed it to long. As I said, debatable.

4) Even if a Northern Shiverpeak mission is longer, having weaker foes should result in a faster run.

Steve1 (talk) 20:18, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

To add to the debate (or rather help settle it), with a 33% IMS, ICoS (in NM and obviously skipping the bonus) takes about 14 minutes, which was the fastest run in the Shiverpeaks I managed to date. I highly recommend just going with that one. - Infinite - talk 21:08, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Borlis Pass solo with a runner build is <8 minutes. horrible | contribs 22:06, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
