Finally, sensible field clothes for all female characters, even Eles and Rits. It only took five years... Arshay Duskbrow 00:31, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Hehe, I was on immediately after they released these, and as soon as I saw this one, I knew it would look like Altair. Im planning on buying it just to cosplay as that XD.--Neithan DiniemUser Talk:Neithan Diniem 02:02, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

You said it. Rangers should've had hoods all along, not bandito masks... Arshay Duskbrow 23:21, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
The Texas Ranger Division never wore masks, which means no rangers ever wore masks. It's a fact. Actually, rangers should either wear wide brim hats or nothing on their head, not hoods. –~=Ϛρѧякγ AHHH! (τѧιк) ←♥– 04:27, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Good thing medieval Robin Hood-type rangers have absolutely nothing to do with Texas Rangers, huh? Arshay Duskbrow 22:40, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Looks like Numenorian Rangers to me. 108.7.202.241 15:30, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Debateably (to higher comments), Rangers are forms of Hunters in RPG-like games. If you look at the lore from early Cantha relating to the Ranger quests, you'll see the Ranger class is very similar to a Hunter (un-trapping with whatsherface and hunting the Yeti with Zho). Based on this, it is similar to both an assassin and a ranger, although in my opinion it's less assasinish because you want the blade to be hidden, not in sight (unless you have a LOT of them, then it doesn't matter). Also, a Hunter is someone who hunts, tracks and fights animals and beasts in old times, so the blade in the boot is very appropriate. You don't always shoot animals. Cape[edit]

Since there aren't any major (read huge) clipping issues with this outfit, would it be possible to make the cape visible? Markus Clouser User Markus Clouser signature img.jpg 21:14, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Login[edit]

I remember there being an issue for a while with the masks after the update not showing up on the login screen and they fixed that...are they going to fix the login so that it shows at login that your char is wearing a costume? (98.179.8.157 02:03, 22 April 2010 (UTC))

Cowl[edit]

Anyone else notice it puts a slight tatoo band across your face? Justice 05:32, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

I thought it was more like a shadow.MystiLefemEle 10:31, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Of course it isnt a shadow! Can't you see that a cowl that adds a tattoo band right across your head everytime you put it on and removes it when you take it off sounds way more logical then a cowl that has a shadow.--Markisbeest 14:42, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
User Justice Spectre.jpg, Shows what im talking about. Extends from ear to ear across the nose, heightest part touches just below the eyes. ~ 3 inch tall tatoo band. Justice 07:16, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

YES WE KNOW THE COWL GIVES A SHADOW!...There also appears to be a tatoo...Cant believe i had to use caps lock... Justice 18:04, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
Well actually it was your own choice to use caps, but don't be ashamed, it's a normal reaction when people can't seem to win an argument.--Markisbeest 16:36, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
Im glad to see your restraint. Do you have anything constructive or are you just picking at me for some mysterious reason? I offer proof and yet still you...wait...you dont deny it...you are simply trolling. Justice 20:56, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
OMFG, hes's on to me! Back to 4chan... but seriously, I don't know where the hell you see a tatoo band on that screenie...--Markisbeest 11:54, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Try having the screenshot at full size. Its not a black tatoo, its a brown color. If you still cannot see then i will show you ingame provided you can play gw at max graphics ;-) Justice 19:20, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
You mean the lines just beneath the shadow? For that's just the transitionzone (Hell Yeah google translator, at least i hope so...) between shadow and non-shadow... otherwise I still dont see any tatoo band.--Markisbeest 15:10, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
Actually it covers the "transition zone", both above and below. Its not part of the shadow. Dont worry about it. Justice 23:41, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
Its just a graphics glitch of some sort. Went to the atomical engineer and with different faces/skin tone(white makes it VERY evident) it became more drastic, disapeared, or just became more distorted. Changing gengers removed it completely. I just happened to have the right face/skin tone to give it just enough appearance (especially facing a light source) to make it appear as a slight tatoo. Justice 00:57, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Hate to say it but, told you so :D.--Markisbeest 12:18, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
You never ever said it was a graphics glitch. All you said is that you couldnt see it/oh its just shadow transition. So in reality nothing you said really meant anything. Justice 05:01, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
I told you that you were wrong about it adding a tatoo band across your face, which I see as the harsh but nonetheless sweet truth.--Markisbeest 14:41, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
I wish i could just 50/50 guess everything and either skulk away when wrong or just flamboyant when im right to make up for the wrongs. Gl and Hf. Justice 19:05, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, you too!--Markisbeest 13:25, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
I think Justice has dust on his/her monitor. RJ 217.135.156.138 14:58, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) On a politer note, Justice, I see exactly what you're talking about, and I agree that it's probably a lingering graphical effect from the transition's design, not a tattoo. You can find dozens of minor oversights like this if you look through more of the costumes. Nice catch, though, because I had to strain a bit to see it. --- NessUser Ness Hrin SigIcon.pngHrin | 04:02, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Male uniform[edit]

Makes all male chars ridiculously FAT. Anyone else notices? Looks fine on war but everything else looks like a keg at the waist. DemonicFahrir 11:40, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

It's most likely because it's modelled off a warrior frame. Doesn't look at all good on dervish, I know that for sure. My opinion. 203.118.170.143 10:17, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
monk? yes
I made a female character for this reason. But on my monk I use it normally. It looks terrible on my mesmer without a hood. Way too fat body small head. --77.160.189.74 11:29, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

I agree, take off the hood and it becomes very obvious. The shoulders look unnaturally bulky from the side and the midsection sticks out like a beer gut. There are too many layers on the upper torso, otherwise it would have been great. Too bad Stormcrowx 03:37, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Doesn't seem that bad to me when I use it, but I always use the hood. I love the look anyway, makes the character look very solid, for lack of better description. K2K 08:43, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

You lot can name this problem...[edit]

User Kraal Shining Blade Glitch.jpg Is it a glitch, clipping issue or what? This is the Male Ele's version on the Uniform, Dyed Pink (proper pink, not a mix of dyes), and while doing the /drums emote. Glitched texture when zoomed out on female ranger[edit]

Cowl Normal.jpg Cowl Bugged.jpg

As you can see, zoomed out it looks rather bad. Tested it with multiple female rangers (each a different hairstyle), of which 2 nightfall and 1 factions. I also noticed a similar glitch with one of the nightfall hairstyles (although less obvious)

Hair Normal.jpg Hair bugged.jpg

Didn't get the problem with a different hat though. Nor did I get it with a male ranger or a female warrior or necromancer.
