Talk:Temple of Lyssa

Supercobra, could you please explain the two reverts to the same edit by two different users on this page? I believe that if one of the temples is there, that both should be. While it may be in the Places of Interest template, to delete one temple and not the other does not make sense to me. MiraLantis 06:35, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Whoops. Forgot to add that the places of interest template is a long scroll down an empty page. I have a severe doubt that many users would think to scroll all that way when it seems the page is pretty blank. MiraLantis 06:37, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
I could have sticked the images to the side to make the page smaller, but that would make the article look messed up ~ SCobraUser-SuperCobra-Sig.png 16:52, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
I still don't understand why one temple is able to listed and the other isn't. This isn't logical. MiraLantis 06:15, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Cause Temple of Grenth is already in the Landmarks template at the end of the page, Balthazar's isn't ~ SCobraUser-SuperCobra-Sig.png 13:34, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Then why on the Temple of Grenth page is the temple of Lyssa displayed, even when it is displayed again in the Landmarks portion of the text? The landmarks portion details what is notable in the region; See Also displays things related to said article. (GW Player)--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:71.164.131.76 (talk).
Cause its not suppose to be there. I removed it ~ SCobraUser-SuperCobra-Sig.png 23:33, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Erm, Well i guess i must have been unlucky but from what i seen there are no ice imps in this cave...? can anyone explain?

See the note about the titan quest...also sign your comments! Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.jpg 08:37, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Added See Also[edit]

I am in favour of both the other "temples" being listed in the see also section - even if one is already listed in the other landmarks for the southern shiverpeaks. I know it seems redundant but the reason to include it there is exclusive of what zone it is found in - the three structures are fairly unique in guild wars and seemingly connected to each other in their uniqueness. I think it is worth noting in each page the other two structure for that reason. If the Lyssa cave was found in Ascalon somewhere it would be listed in the see also section. I don't believe it's presence in the same region's landmarks is enough reason not to include it in see also, because that alone doesn't indicate it is part of a set of temples nor does it lead people to the other two similair temples. Someone interested in one of them would likely be interested in the other two for reasons of similarity other than it being a landmark. User Druid Sig.pngDruid 21:14, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Charr flame temple[edit]

Should it be noted that there was once a Charr flame temple inside the cave? You can still see the giant sacred flame braziers, knocked over and broken, that lie in ruin all around the inside of the cave. Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 11:39, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I always thought it was one of those Stone Summit light beacons, the ones you have to light in the borlis pass mission ~ KurdUser Kurd sig.png 12:00, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Eh, you could be right there, too. Blame aNet for reskinning everything a billion times over, I suppose >.< Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 02:39, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
It's been a long time since I last was there, but doesn't that beacon/brazier/whatever-thing also pulsate and make a sound?
IMO, it's either a light beacon or something completely different. Perhaps the are wasn't always covered in ice.--User Cyberman Mastermind Sig.gif Cyberman 16:04, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
lol I always thought of it as a portal the titans used :P --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 16:40, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Dont they resemble those portal things in Hell's Precipice? Thats atleast what i thought off when i saw em -- User C4K3 Signature.jpgC4K3 13:01, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
I had the same thoughts as Kurd about this, but since on this area the first titan quest takes place, this could indeed be some sort of titan portal...yet, on the other side, there aren't titan portals in the areas of the other titan quests either, so maybe it's simply just a broken stone summit beacon... —ZerphatalkThe Improver 13:07, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Of all the perks in this game, these pulsating disks pique my interest the most. I'd kill to hear an explanation for those.91.176.71.241 08:30, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

They are fallen beacons, I dont know of what kind - but you can tell they have been toppled. Also ice imps do also spawn there as I just did this quest.Tong2 17:55, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

I don't quite understand[edit]

Why is this so special? It's just a cave with a shrine in in. With the temples, I can understand what makes them different, but how exactly is this place so different from normal random shrines (like the Dwayna statue in Dreadnought's Drift) that it needs a special name and article? 145.94.74.23 05:39, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

There are large mobs of Ice Imps inside the cave. These are the only creatures known to drop the Icy Dragon Sword. That. 24.233.254.51 05:45, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Also, while it may be a cave, it is also a temple in its own right, dedicated to the goddess Lyssa (proven by the ability to summon Lyssa's Muse) it just happens to be mostly naturally formed. The other temples are mentioned as places of interest, an easter egg if you will, for the happy explorer. This one just happens to contain a rare weapon xD Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.jpg 08:41, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
Perhaps I should clarify some, since i can already see the smart comments to be made, there is a broken alter in it as well as the pulsating beacon, indicating a place of worship or set aside to honor her, not just some random shrine in he wilderness. We do not know why it was abandoned or destroyed, so we can only speculate about its significance Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.jpg 08:44, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
Temples are man made, all this is would be a statue of lyssa - any of which will summon the muse when there is favor - within a cave. I don't recall seeing a broken alter in it - at least, nothing different from any other statue of lyssa - and we don't know if the pulsating dishes, whatever they may be, are related to the statue. -- Konig/talk 11:07, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
A temple is a place reserved for prayer and stuff, and it doesn't have to be manmade. Especially in this game. Who knows, maybe the ice imps made the temple. In a world where sentient creatures are all over the place, ice imps might worship lyssa for her ability to control energy.
