I thought this little side story was quite sad... enjoyable, but sad :( 68.104.205.160 18:54, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

This is one of those things that's all about balance. We write a lot of silly quests in Guild Wars (goodness knows I'm responsible for my fair share of them) but if there weren't sad or serious ones to balance them out, I think they'd lose their effect, and vice versa. Granted, this is probably more depressing than most, since it deals with a character struggling to live, but having to face up to the realization that their death is inevitable, and how they choose to deal with that. Writing this, I wanted something that was intentionally and unapologetically like that - just to try and tell a kind of story that we haven't in GW, and see how people responded to it. It looks like maybe thus far I've succeeded? XD User John Stumme sig.gifJohn Stumme 03:08, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
I liked the quest chain. It's one of my favourites in GW:EN. Interesting story, lore and play. Sirocco 03:23, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
I liked the quest : ) Sad things are somewhat rare in Guild Wars, although GW:EN had a fair share of it (like the Gwen quests, and her overall story), and they are nice when we see them. Something that made me really happy on this quest was how we don't kill the Mursaat in the end - by leaving him alive, the quest went outside of the expected "Face a bunch of enemies and now kill this big boss!" approach, and it gives room for seeing the Mursaat and their followes again on the future (the "Countless generations" quote made me think about GW2 : D). Yeah I noticed the little "Countless Generations..." thing too, reeeeeeeally hope they make a reappearance, or atleast Lazarus does, in one of GW2's "smaller story arcs" ^_^ Was nice to see a more serious quest again, even if slightly depressing, and it was great re-visiting the Mursaat. --Blobulator 12:13, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
This quest is sad, but it reveals the TRUE truth. In reality the White Mantle aren't that bad, it is truly the Mursaat with the malicious intent (though again this is controversial considering that their role in Prophecies was mainly just to save their own kind). I loved Justiciar Naveed as a character, it showed that even the Mantle can be humane. Even Dorian and Hablion, when they were our allies, they did not seem so down to earth in my opinion. I had some suspicions about them since the beginning. User eldin sig.jpg Eldin 00:15, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Can't wait for him in GW2 ^^ Even the asura said he wonders when will he be back? All hail GW2 story line! Super Range Ranger Cow 23:51, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

theres something about this quest that makes me think it will be refferenced into guild wars 2 :) we're cursed
Definately one of the best things (if not the best) in Guild Wars are the Mursaat. Such a storyline behind them and such great enemy, so glad they (well Lazarus) had this quest to answer the question that bugged all Unseen fans: What happened to the Mursaat post Prophecies ending?. Can't wait for Guild Wars 2 for his (or possible children) return, got to be one of the main reasons I wanna play it (aside from looking and sounding bloody epic).

too easy?[edit]

I'm not sure if the Master level difficulty is really appropriate. I beat this with hero's and henchmen and only one of my henchmen died once, total. Fun quest but the difficulty could go up if it's going to be a Master quest. 128.2.151.17 11:43, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

I'd be inclined to agree. At no time did I feel like it was a struggle, the foes pretty much dropped like flies. My guys stayed alive throughout.
Play it in HM. 76.90.136.243 04:56, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

I see what you guys mean. After the second wave I had to go to dinner and forgot to shut down GW and when I came back I saw drops everywhere after my H/H team had finished off the other 5 waves.--Evil guy563 18:55, 12 June 2009

Did it in Hm by accident - fun but easy and depressing all at once :D --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 09:59, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Great quest chain![edit]

Very interesting and immersive... At the end I thought:"Aaah and now the classic "Because you have surrendered your life for the greater good you cannot be harmed", but when Justiciar Naveed died I thought "Oh no..." And it made me feel sad :( A great chain, with possible new chain in GW2 ? We shall see :D User MadSkillz1o1 sig2.PNG MadSkillz1o1 13:20, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Explore[edit]

I've notice while doing this quest that the enemies spawn behind the portal, so if you shadowstep to and enemy you'd be able to explore Alcazia Tangle without any of those annoying birds and monkeys. Should work since you're able to at Eredon Terrace and Tahnnakai Temple. (forgot to sign)--84.192.7.219 09:20, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

You actually can walk through the portal (it's not a real one, so you don't need to use death's charge or any special skill) and then indeed you can explore all the Alcazia tangle map and also the areas behind the portals. I believe that you can also explore during the other naveed quest, and maybe through sao portal jump, i've not tried yet.--Ruine Eternelle (talk) 21:37, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
