Tips on Beating Last Day Dawns[edit]

This is how I was able to FINALLY beat this mission with Heroes:

Myself (Air Ele)-

Dunkoro (Healing Monk)-

Jora (Axe Warrior)-

Olias (Blood/Death Necro)-

I focused on the Spark of the Titans first whenever possible, then broke the Armageddon Lord down to Risen Ashen Hulk. I tried to then focus on the more powerful Charr Lords and then take down the Risen Ashen Hulk, hopefully leaving just one of the Hand/Fists when the last Charr from the group went down (which would trigger the next group to come). Try to target Charr Shaman last (they don't hurt much). I also tried to engage the second group ahead of Adelbern and his monk, though I had to bring the third and fourth groups in (I needed the Tank help). I hope this helps someone! --Jaguar Ogith 00:57, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

those bars are terrible. :x --Super Igor User Super Igor siggy.jpg flame my shove sin bar! 14:39, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Well I simply did it sabway. Worked perfectly, I didn't even die, just my hexer died once. Easy. (4 man, btw) 81.165.8.15 14:45, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

Additional Hero/Skill Suggestions[edit]

After many MANY failures (!), I was able to beat this quest using a Necro/Rit healer Hero, a warding elementalist Hero (Ward Against Elements Ward Against Elements and Ward Against Melee Ward Against Melee), and a Minion Master necro Hero. My main character, a splinter weapon ranger (i.e., Splinter Weapon Splinter Weapon and Barrage Barrage), used Winter Winter and the PvE skills Ebon Battle Standard of Courage Ebon Battle Standard of Courage and Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support. These PvE skills, along with the Ebon Vanguard title, were invaluable for me.

Traps?[edit]

This article states that "the quest is easily won with a monk, a tank, and two rangers equipped with traps". But considering that Titans aren't fleshly creatures, they can't be affected by conditions, which is what traps are all about... so why would traps be the best choice in this situation? What makes them a better choice than any other cheap AoE skills?

ShadowfaxSTF 15:32, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Spark of the Titans and Risen Ashen Hulks are fleshy creatures and can be affected by conditions. While the other Titans aren't fleshy creatures they are only immune to poison, bleeding, and disease conditions, so they are still susceptible to traps that cause blindness, cripple, and burning conditions. --Silver Edge 20:40, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Tips[edit]

From Tips:

A: "Armageddon Lord group 4 can be killed without activating King Adelbern and his cohorts into starting the mission. If you suffer any DP from this encounter just hunt Charr elsewhere until you are back to normal."

From Notes:

B: "The yellow circle shows how close you can get to King Adelbern before he will join your party."
C: "The five pink dots are the starting positions of each Armageddon group. Group one is the most westerly one. Group five is the most northerly one. Two is the north east. Three is just below group five. Four is in the far south part of the yellow circle."

Given B, aren't A and C mutually exclusive? --171.66.137.123 05:38, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

After failed a dozen times, I tried to go behind, went a long way, killed group 2 and 5, this made the battle WAY EASIER, I'm a paragon, with a monk a ritualist(with Winter) and a fire ele. 69.238.216 20:01, 24 Jan 2009 (UTC)

I managed to defeat all of the groups without activating Adelbern by using a flagged hero to pull the groups one by one to the rest of us. I waited a few steps beyond the yellow aggro circle , locked one target on a hero, sent them in with a flag and waited until the hero attacked (Pyre Firceshot). Then I set the hero to Avoid Combat and flagged him back to my side. Once he returned, with the titan group in tow, I set him back to attack and killed the group. I was very careful to wait until the titans were on top of us to attack so I wouldn't accidently rush in and activate Adelbern. It took a while, but Adelbern didn't take a single hit. Tips again ?[edit]

This quest was actually the easiest of the three... I went as a monk with WoH, PS, some random prots and heals, and condition/hex removal. Jora was an axe warrior using an Icy axe; Zhed was a earth/water ele with Ward Against Harm, Maelstrom and anti-melee/wards; Razah was your basic spirit spammer (pain, bloodsong, shadowsong, signet of spirits...), because spirit spam wins^^ I barely had to worry about my team, and concentrated on healing/protting Adelbern's guards and priest, since they are the enemies' targets (I swear the titans and Charrs didn't want to attack me ôO). So, my advice is : lots of protection, icy damage, armor-ignoring damage. And heal Adelbern's team, they're good XD 213.166.213.254 14:37, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

I don't get what people find hard about these quests. shiverpeaks was easy, maguma just pull with a longbow and ignore evennia, kryta just don't press return to outpost. this quest was easy. just sparks first then armageddon and kill titans before charr. I just completed this easy with sabway and me derv with grenth avatar. only his two guards died. I did have rebel yell so that helped a little bit (it was only rank 3) RhoninUser Rhonin Soren sig.pngSoren 22:35, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
It's easy now, but when the quests came out they were hard (Nightfall and Eye of the North skills made it loleasy, like a lot of other things in the game). -- Konig/talk 10:23, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Adelbern death bug[edit]

I don't think this bug exists anymore. Should this be removed? I just had him die on me twice, and I couldn't continue fighting either time.ShadowLurker 18:45, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Yes, they have fixed this bug, his death results in death for the entire team. I removed it from the page. If anyone objects they can always put it back. 213.89.71.102 18:22, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Well, my party of 4 died fighting the last group, rezzed at the shrine, and were rushing back to the battlefield when Adelbern went down. My party died and the "return to outpost" button appeared, but my own character immediately rezzed on the spot. This actually happened twice; the first time, I didn't realize the significance and went back to the outpost, but the second time, I rezzed my monk, who rezzed everyone else. So we were able to go back and finish off the remaining original members of the last group, whereupon the quest updated and I just had to rezone to speak to Adelbern. I don't know if this is the bug you guys were referring to, but if it is, it certainly wasn't fixed. Or perhaps it became unfixed with later updates. :P 50.128.192.132 19:57, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

My Strategies[edit]

Just passed this quest finally, and here's how I did it with my rit and heroes:

  • Used Sabway and SoS myself.
  • To ensure an easier fight used two rainbow candy canes to get 10% morale boost.
  • Ate a candy apple myself so I can run faster to save the King when needed.
  • Engage each group actively except the fourth group (since doing that aggros additional charr lords). Doing so will protect the King from any damage possible.
  • When approaching each group, cast Painful Bond on the Armaggeddon lord, then summon in the spirits, protected with AoU. Ping the Armaggeddon lord, and then summon at a slightly different location (not too far) as frequently as possible to heal the spirits and to delay the A lord's actions. By the time the spirits die (if at all), the A lord should be killed. The rest is easy to finish.
  • By using spirits and the minions, the rest of the party/allies should not take much damage at all.
  • For the last group there are two A lords and the spirits can't handle as much. So spam the spirits at slightly different locations whenever they are recharged to distract the A lords from your party and the King. Also flag each hero apart from each other to further weaken the effects of the A lords. If King gets damage from the lords (which happens since he's melee), manually prot him.
  • I summoned a Gaki ally for safety.

It may be easier to do this if you have a melee class as you can just tank the A lords, but basically, that's how I did it with my rit. Should be plenty of margin if you're more experienced than me. Hope this helps someone! Hpmv 13:07, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Ignore the other tips, they are a waste of time[edit]

This is simple: Go as (x/)Mo or (x/)Rt with spike heals and add a healer Hero/Hench. The other two can be any dd or tank. You simply win with pressure, since there is no rush to defeat a group. Going around, spike builds, consumables(lol!) and all other stuff on this page is a waste of time. Also, the aggro bubble is ~15% larger than shown on the map. 109.192.9.139 14:24, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Those tips worked just fine for me. What problem(s) did you have with them?--Deus 17:29, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
The majority of these tips are very old, and so due to buffs to stuff like spirits - this quest is almost one of the easiest of the lot. (my tip: bring EVAS + spirits >.> ) File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 23:48, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
Did something similar myself (spirits), probably should re-write them.--Deus 16:46, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

It's Adelbern[edit]

Damn it Glint, why can't you spell it correctly.--DefinitelyNotHanz (talk) 13:55, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

The Last Day Dawns HM[edit]

Builds are caster oriented, human is heavy on PvE skills.

X/Me *Mantra of Frost Mantra of Frost *Arcane Echo Arcane Echo*Echo Echo *Pain Inverter Pain Inverter *Technobabble Technobabble *Ether Signet Ether Signet, the other two are optional but I'd recommend Tryptophan Signet Tryptophan Signet for one slot

  • Hero 1 UA Mo/Me; OwUUMsG/E4OmAGyd7icX9HSEEAA
  • Hero 2 Prot Mo/R; OwIT8Woi1BgMGnJrk6R3x5cdAA
  • Hero 3 SoS Rt/Me; OAWjAmiMZSOTXTlTnNdiYgIACAA
  • note: Attributes haven't been maximized

Make sure you have Rebel Yell activated (show the title to activate), one conset and HP/armor buffs for caster (DP removal is also recommended if a pull gets screwed up).

How To[edit]

  • 1. Head North then east to pick up the Holy Blessing, kill the two groups, don't head inside the yellow circle (map key).
  • 2. Clear the route all the way around up to the back of where the spawns are.
  • 3. View the map key carefully on the main page for the quest itself.
  • 4. Pull the right side Charr, kill off the closest Armageddon Lords (left to right) and continue doing so.
  • 5. If you fail killing an activated group it will head towards the Adelbern fight (the burnt ring) and wait there.
  • 6. Pull any missed Armageddon Lords from the bridge left of the position of the first of the back Armageddon lord, I recommend doing so with the SoS (make sure you have a longbow) and place spirits on route out - so that the group carry aggro from spirit to spirit to you and you don't risk the hero dying.
  • 7. Kill off any charr left to be a 100% safe if you want from the same position.
  • 8. Run in and meet Adelbern & Co. - claim the rewards.
