umm... spoiler warning?[edit]

Just wondering if people think a spoiler warning should be used with this template... -User:PanSola (talk to the File:Follower of Lyssa.png) 17:27, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

I thought about that, but I'm not sure? Chances are, if someone is on the wiki poking around, they shouldn't really be opposed to spoilers (I've personally never understood the idea of spoilers, especially on a wiki that will be accessed via the game). I'm also not positive how to exclude Kormir from a footer about gods, unless the footer is changed to just house the five core gods. In this case, though, Abaddon couldn't be included either. It's up to you guys in the end, though. I just put it there for navigation :) --UserEmilyDiehlStar.gif Emily Diehl (talk) 17:34, 7 May 2007 (EDT)
Well, I feel there's a difference between reading the walkthrough on Hell's Precipice mission and find out about a certain warrior boss; versus joining Guild Wars the first time, playing the Nightfall Campaign as a monk, reading about lore on Dwayna while still in Istan, and get spoiled about something at the very end of the story. I'm usually on the liberal side with respect to spoilers, but in this case I'm a bit wary. -User:PanSola (talk to the File:Follower of Lyssa.png) 17:53, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

Also, Kormir's article doesn't mention anything related to being a God at all... hmm... -User:PanSola (talk to the File:Follower of Lyssa.png) 17:58, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

Testing:

Gods of Tyria index
War & Fire   •   Life & Air   •   Death & Ice   •   Beauty & Illusion   •   Nature & Earth
Knowledge, Water, & Secrets   •   Truth       -      Death   •   Menzies

Hmm... looks kinda messy )-: -User:PanSola (talk to the File:Follower of Lyssa.png) 18:09, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

How about just "spoiler-related god" or something? -- Dashface User Dashface.png 21:26, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

Pansola is thinking in the right direction, but that is a bit to messy. We could argue that, while Kormir evolved into the goddess of truth, they are separate enough to warant a different wiki page. That way we can create one page about the goddess (including spoilers) which explains the story and people will never accidently find out who is the new goddess. --Xeeron 09:03, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

Kormir[edit]

Shoudnt kormir link to goddes of truth, right now it links the NPC kormir ~ KurdKurdsig.png11:25, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

I'll replace Kormir with Goddess of Truth, that should get rid of that issue and the spoiler problem as well. --Xeeron 17:21, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

eh i kinda don't like the whole goddess of truth. Kormir is the only god referred to by their title. No biggy i guess. --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 04:38, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Proffessions[edit]

Added the proffessions of some gods. Kormir is obviously a Paragon. She is holding the spear as the goddes of truth. Abbadon is Ele because he was god of Water. Dhuum was Necro because he was god of death.--Eloc 07:31, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

I am not to sure I am happy with this. For me, the icons stood for "God of this or that profession" and not "this god has this or that profession". In which case none but the original 5 deserve icons. --Xeeron 10:53, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
I don't like the idea of adding professions to these gods too. It's creating limitations where there are none. Certain professions worship certain gods, not gods having professions. Monks worship Balthazar, Dwayna, and Grenth, which, logically, makes all three part monk. Holding a specific weapon is not indicative of profession. Thumpers use hammers; does that make them warriors? -- ab.er.rant sig 16:12, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
I agree too, i'l change it back ~ KurdKurdsig.png 23:10, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
But Grenth also is the god of ritualists and Lyssa of assassins (at least they boost all skills of those professions with their avatar (the statue one, not the dervish one)) Etienne 22:42, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Professions[edit]

Abbadon = Ele because he was god of Water/Knowledge & the most knowledgeable people are Eles and Water is Eles. Kormir has same Aura as a Para and is carrying a spear and was a paragon in her life.--§ Eloc § 02:29, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

My monk disagrees and feels that Togo is much more knowledgable than Cynn. ;-)
However my real disagreement is otherwise: We incude the icons because Dwayna is the god of monks not because Dwayna is a monk. There is no way of telling whether Kormir is god of Paragons and Abbadon is definitely not the god of eles. --Xeeron 11:08, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Elementalists are split as many ways as possible by design. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 00:39, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Well it's obvious that Paraons would be worshipping Kormir.--§ Eloc § 01:07, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Not... really...-FireFox File:Firefoxav.png 01:31, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Sure it is. Kormir was their leader of all the Paragons...they worshipped her...now she's a god so it ain't all Cultish now.--§ Eloc § 01:43, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
She's the god of truth, not spear throwing -FireFox File:Firefoxav.png 01:54, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Knowledge and Truth. And pointy sticks. File:Drago-sig.gif Drago 01:59, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Hey! Everyone religion needs a god with point sticks. The Christians have the Devil with point pitchforks, the Greeks...have alot of Gods, so there is bound to be one with pointy sticks there.--§ Eloc § 18:32, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
The Facet of Spirit is a Dervish. -- Gordon Ecker 10:44, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

i think the concept of the paragon and dervish was a profession that had no so solid ties to one of the gods like warriors and ranger do, instead they are link to all five evenly, like eles they have skills that can account for one of the gods, all profession have some skills that link to one of the gods, but with the paragon, there is no clear fact saying there a link to a certain god, and with the goddess of truth, we don't know what power does this god has , or what skills relate to her, so we can't clearly say that this god is a paragon, --72.141.117.114 15:04, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

I'd also add a dervish icon to Dhuum and a paragon icon to Kormir Reloaded, but i appreciate that this doesn't suit to the other gods just which got their icon because of the profession that they belong to. This makes me want to see Abaddon with an ele icon, but then again this was at most relevant in the past... —ZerphatalkThe Improver 14:26, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
