The corsairs were sailing toward Cantha when their ship was fired at. Nariko’s father didn’t get the chance to explain that he wasn’t there to loot. Nariko held her dying father in her arms as the ship began to sink, and in his last breath he begged her to find another way of life. The ship sank and Nariko drifted in the Great Sea until she landed on Shing Jea Island. But because she’d been raised hunting treasure, Nariko has an inevitable urge to be wealthy. So in order to honor her father’s wish and satisfy her own, she becomes a bounty hunter. She brings criminals to justice and makes a nice profit at the same time.
