Question
Hello, Do you know how to delete pages off wiki? Because I'd like to delete these pages:
- User:Fabian/Acolyte Zoid
- User:Fabian/Character tables
- User:Fabian/Characters
- User:Fabian/Dark Lord Fabian
- User:Fabian/Fabian Ravage
- User:Fabian/Honor
- User:Fabian/Ravyn Torrent
- User:Fabian/Resilience
- User:Fabian/Natasha Ludivine
- User:Fabian/Navbar
- User:Fabian/Katara Torrent
- User:Fabian/Honor
- User:Fabian/Shandi Torrent
- User:Fabian/Thanks
Yes... very overwhelming and.. odd. but yeah, don't ask xD
If you can show me that'd be awesome, thanks so much for your time :) ~Fabian 04:29, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- add {{delete}} anywhere on the page. Or {{delete|creator request}}. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 04:52, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- TEF is right, though the last example should probably be {{delete|U1:Creator request|speedy}}. The actual deletion of pages is something the admins on the wiki do, though anyone can tag a page asking for them to be deleted. The above pages have been removed, and if you wish to look at the current pages under your user name, use this link. If a pages is gone that you regret seeing disappear, let me know and it can be brought back. G R E E N E R 15:21, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry for the delayed response, Thank you so much! :D ~Fabian 18:57, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you
Hey, Just wanted to say thanks, you do everything I ask for on this wiki, I really appreciate it. With all those pages being deleted and the EToC page to be moved, The Guild Wars Wiki is lucky to have someone like you. :) ~Fabian 01:34, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Block range
Wow, you're a bit more intense than I am with block ranges. I've only gone over 1 month with a couple users, but you're throwing around 6 month blocks. --JonTheMon 19:00, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- Only when I've (hopefully) done a full check user to see whom I've blocked. That last IP range would have carried a maximum of 256 users, but with how most IP's are handled, that was one computer/owner designated to that range. I could have kept it to the .80, but as one can see from my double-post and poor wiki code here, the morning had me in a rush. G R E E N E R 01:04, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
- Range-blocking is a heavy tool as it is - I don't think it should be coupled with a heavy duration like six months. -- pling 19:23, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
- Block duration has been reduced. I'll try to watch the combo use of the length-breadth bans. G R E E N E R 19:38, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Recent deletion
Specifically concerning User:Adrin/Templates/UserBoxes/Test Krewe - this template was once used by a few folks. If you could be so kind as to restore it, move it under my userspace, then delete the original again, I'll fix the broken links so that those who were using this (a small number but a number non-the-less) could continue to use it. It'd be appreciated if you (or another fella with restoration powers) could do this. -- Konig/talk 19:03, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
- 'Twas the seemingly blank page that prompted the faster deletion, sorry about that. I guess I'm used to seeing templates coming with examples and instructions. I've moved the template to User:Konig Des Todes/Test Krewe, and swapped the links. G R E E N E R 19:38, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
Super Anti-botman
Thanks for putting up the umbrellas against the bot storm this weekend. I also appreciate you taking the time to protect/semi-protect the affected pages. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:38, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Regarding User talk:Dan Dan Teddy Bearz#Trolling
My apologies, I need to be more active. My post was meant to convey a "shut up and don't pointlessly spam the noticeboard talk page" message, and given the guy's history and way of expressing himself, I'd probably have blocked him had I seen his first two replies to me. Next time I happen across a situation like that, I'll be sure to stick around to clean up any resulting mess myself so that you guys don't have to spend your precious time defending me ;) — Why 11:43, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- One thing is for sure, you seem to know exactly day I had to wake up at an ungodly hour, and when I'd be online. If you look at the time-stamps, much had occurred between my first two appearances, as well, and I should have also intervened at an earlier point. Then again, neither of us are omniscient. - While that's the definition of Omni, could the omni in his name not still stand for omniscient?
- My name is not Away From Keyboard When Needed, but I think most people join the dots. His is harder, but still plausible. A F K When Needed 18:39, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- I always thought he was related to Dodge Omni. Dodge was a close friend of mine. Traveled through Canada together and had a wonderful time. He died shortly afterwards. I think he picked up a bug in the NWT. I do recall him saying something about needing lube as he had an appointment with an Escort, but I didn’t pry as I didn’t want to get into his personal life. ty and small feedback
Hi Greener, First of all ty for fixing Guild:Dragon Lords Of Order and ty for correcting my mistake. I want to give just a little feedback. I posted the old link on our forum and after visiting it me and others got this Guild:Dragon lords of order. The reason you gave for deletion wasn't really clear. And it took me some research to find out what happened. So I would suggest to post the new link in the deletion log (if possible). Rumian 18:46, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yep, one of the double-edged swords of being able to delete pages is that they can be deleted right away. On the good side, the site gets cleaned up; on the down side, the natural steps of the process get hidden.
- Normally when a page is moved, the wiki automatically changes the old location page into a redirect, which points visitors to the new location. This allows for people who visit the page to get the proper update notices as a nicety. With me doing the deletion right-away as a clean-up, the redirect is unfortunately removed.
- I'm glad you were able to find the new location, and I'm sorry for the hassle that I caused you. I'll make a note to drop by users' talk pages and leave them a message (which is a step I sadly stopped doing at some point). G R E E N E R 04:14, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
A lot of that going around
In case it's useful, ⟨⟨User:TEF/Templates/Feedback_reminder⟩⟩. Feel free to move/edit as applicable. (Can be combined with subst: so that, if the template changes, none of the pages will be affected. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:29, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
- Very clever, I'll take a closer look at it when I have a bit more free time. Between my clients, deadlines, and my brother's company buying out two other companies (who had no idea how to do proper documentation of themselves), I've been a tad busy. Oh yes, and hockey – can't forget that. G R E E N E R 05:06, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- My hope is that it can save (and perhaps other admins) a small amount of time. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 07:15, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- If need be, I can always copy the code and modify it in my user space. I know a few things that I personally would like to add that shouldn't go directly onto your template. The effort on your part is very much appreciated! Wiki-code is still not my forte. G R E E N E R 16:10, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- Feel free to edit it, move to mainspace, or even move to your space; in all likelihood, I'll follow your lead (assuming that you somehow managed to miss posting a reminder to someone). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:36, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Too late
You might want to get on IRC every now and then. elix Omni 16:07, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- When I have time to discover what that is, I may take you up on it. I did send you a hastily written email. G R E E N E R 16:09, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- IRC is Internet Relay Chat, a communication protocol that predates the world wide web and probably hieroglyphics as well. I'm specifically talking about the #gww channel on the Gamesurge IRC network, which is where a lot of off-wiki-but-pertaining-to-the-wiki discussion occurs. To summarize, another sysop asked if anyone would have objections to his shutting down the discussions until the discussion phase began, and there were a few objections, so he reconsidered. After that some words were exchanged and a few parties agreed to let the discussion cool off for a while. Also, e-mail received. elix Omni 16:13, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- I was actually pondering whether you happened to have had contact with said sysop regarding this matter, but regardless of the objections on IRC (which you were unaware of) I feel that you had all right to post what you posted and that you were acting with the proper intentions. I wouldn't mind seeing you around on IRC, though. You know, for you to get to know people on a less wiki-esque basis without exchanging emails or IM contact information. :) - Infinite - talk 16:28, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not saying you shouldn't have done it, just that you weren't the only one considering it. elix Omni 16:33, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- The email attached to my wiki account is on my to do list, so there may be a message from someone there. As it stands, I have a few things pending, so I will have to respond back here in a couple of hours (at the most, I hope). G R E E N E R 16:35, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

- @Infinte: Though I have received a number of emails, there was nothing concerning this particular situation from another admin (but a fair number from regular contributors which I have just finished responding to). As Felix pointed out, it seems to have been handled in another forum prior to my comment.
- Not to date myself too much, but when it comes to such messaging systems, I'm more familiar with the old BBS's and the 14.4 connections (moving to a 28.8 was astounding). I will try to update myself if people believe it will strengthen my ability to contribute to the wiki – or more precisely, my ability to help administer it. G R E E N E R 18:43, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Considering what all that discussion regarding Aiiane was about, explaining on the wiki what was discussed in IRC in detail (i.e. transparency) would've been better than telling Greener he should be on IRC more. Joining IRC shouldn't be a necessity to administer the wiki. Less should be happening in private, not more. pling 18:54, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Especially given the context, in which transparency and communication are being discussed as possible criteria for choosing b'crats (and perhaps sysops). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:59, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- The communiqué which I have received have been concerned with the manner of the discussion rather than the context. Nothing untoward has popped up which would contravene the process of the election.
- I should add that I am very appreciative of this conversation, as highlighting such concerns is too rarely done. G R E E N E R 19:04, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Pling, while more communication on the wiki would be great, more communication in general would also be great. I don't see why we can't have both. I consider IRC to be a valuable channel for discussion, and Greener didn't even know it existed, so I have done a good thing today. elix Omni 05:48, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Quick question
[2], [3], [4] - why did you keep those redirects? Nothing links to them and they are talk pages. The file pages should (and have been) kept as redirects, but there's no reason for the talk pages' redirects to be kept. Konig/talk 23:10, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
- True, keeping them went through about three tosses and turns before I decided that keeping was easier than figuring out if I wanted to keep them. Deleting them is no problem. G R E E N E R 23:13, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
- To answer your question: File:Mine2.jpg is a larger version of File:"Mine" concept art 2.jpg. There are other cases. I could just save as the larger image and upload under the correct name as well - as I did for a couple other cases. Either way it would give the end result, when I tagged them I was just not in the mood to deal with the 'error' of "this is a duplicate image omgzzzzz" that the wiki gives me. Tedious to repeatedly click "ignore any warnings." Konig/talk 21:43, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Are you RC stalking me?

- Some other concept art "issues" since then - which I forgot to mention on Poke's talk page - File:"Margonites" concept art 1.jpg is now redundant (smaller than and oddly named compared to other images) with File:"Margonite" concept art 3.jpg. File:Dhuum concept art.jpg needs a |Dhuum added to the end of its categories (for category organizational purposes), Peasent Male, once moved, needs |Peasent Male added to the end of its categories and have "Category:Factions concept art" changed to "Category:Factions character concept art". Likewise File:CharrGroup2.png is redundant with File:"Charr Group" concept art 2.jpg (lower quality even). Lastly, as a note, File:The Rise of the White Mantle loading screen.jpg, File:Pre-Searing Ascalon loading screen.jpg, and File:Salvation.jpg may need altering in the future. Konig/talk 22:58, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- I may be back late tonight to take a look at other details. I'm also going to go through the Move Log to delete any redirects. I see that I'll be editing Emmett's page a lot. G R E E N E R 01:33, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
- Just want to make note for you that Category:EotN concept art and its (two) contents can all be deleted. Konig/talk 02:59, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
- Quick question - what was at File:"Puppet" concept art.jpg? I don't recall a puppet-concept art that wasn't GW related... Konig/talk 05:53, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- I've restored the image for you to look at. By the way, I noticed that you don't have an email set up here or on GW2W. I had planned on simply emailing the image to you, first. G R E E N E R 07:21, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- That's the image I thought it was - issue is that it (the puppet itself) holds the same style as File:"Puppet" concept art 2.jpg and the other 2. Arguable, but probably best to re-delete to make sure. Probably a case of GW-inspired art. Please move File:"Puppet" concept art 4.jpg over it when you re-delete it. And I did have an email shown, but then I got more and more emails from users (and maybe non-users) so I removed it. Konig/talk 17:18, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

You reverted the image upload of The item to a previous version....
But the image currently used is not at all what the item looks like in-game.
Please reconsider your revert, after you have actually had one of these items to look at yourself. 71.239.152.236 18:48, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- It appears at the time of my revert that the cache had not fully purged, leaving a rather off-dimension image of the first upload (or so I gather from my comment). I'll replace it with the proper image, now. G R E E N E R 00:24, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

- Such a User isn't that bad a userID either. (Also: not sure what else you could do. That page is, alas, an attractive nuisance.) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:38, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
- It has, at the least, facilitated your enjoyment. Mayhaps I let the vandal bots back at it for a while? G R E E N E R 05:41, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
- LMAO. (Beat me at my own game). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:45, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
- I'll quit whilst seemingly ahead, and get some rest. Enjoy the remainder of the night! G R E E N E R 05:49, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Question from Prestige
Alright, You told me that I had to check ... The GDFL (Correct me if I'm wrong). Can you explain to me, what's that exactly ? --Prestige 18:57, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
- Sure! You'll notice that every time you edit a page or upload an image, there is a link below to the GNU Free Documentation License. This is a form of license which comes with restrictions.
- If you wish, you can read all of the details etc. on those pages, but the essence that you should take away is this: when you upload images that do not belong to Anet, you must make sure that they were previously released under the GFDL. The mediawiki images that you found all have that weird "goat" image with information on their original page. That means they were released under the GFDL, and you can use them here. That license must follow the image wherever it goes on the internet (or any other form of media).
- Images which are not released under the GFDL may be copy-right protected, and we have to delete such images from this wiki. The GFDL license gives us the "all-clear" to use an image. G R E E N E R 19:21, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
Another question : How do you create sandboxes as many users do, where they put their templates (Hero/Player builds)? O:
--PrestigeTalk 00:04, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry to get back to you exceedingly late, Prestige. A sandbox is nothing more than a sub-page. User just tend to name them sandboxes in order to convey their intent for that page (either to themselves or to other contributors). So your question perhaps is more, "How do I create subpages?"
- In order to do that, I prefer to make a red-link first. By using code such as
[[User:Greener/Temp page for fun]]
I get the red-link User:Greener/Temp page for fun. When I click on that link, I'm given the option of creating the page and adding content to it.
- If you're interested in taking this further, such as adding a standard header to your user-pages, my suggestion would be to look at code which other people have used. Around here, imitation is a sincere form of flattery (though it is even more polite to convey where the inspiration/exact copy of your code came from).
- Hope this belated advice helps! G R E E N E R 06:22, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
SoS : Redux
You may wish to "re-protect" Signet of Spirits; since its expiration, there's already been half-dozen reverts. --Falconeye 04:36, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Nomination
Fyi, I have nominated you for bureaucrat. --JonTheMon 17:15, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I will take a look at that. Getting back to GWW is something I have every intention of doing, and I will re-assess my focus as well as what I will be able to contribute. G R E E N E R 06:22, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
