Thank you for the inspiration.
Got the Folder Tabs template finished. The documentation and examples are probably a little rough. If you are interested, take a look. Comments on the discussion pages are welcome. mtew 18:04, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I didn't invent that template though, it comes from one of the wiki guides. Anyway, very nice work, keep it up.- TheRave (talk) 16:58, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm New
I'm new to the wiki, though I do play Guild Wars a lot. It's just that I don't know anybody at the moment and here, and I was wondering if you could give me some help on starting my User Page and making it look good, and introduce me to new people. Thanks, Remy 14:03, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. Nice to meet you. The best way to get to know people is to either talk/ask lots of people on their talk page, or (a better option) join the Unofficial Official Guild Wars Wiki IRC Channel. There's normally a lot of the regulars/sysops on there and they are normally chatting away about one thing or another.
- As for creating a userpage. A good way to learn how to create a page is to check out Mediawiki's Formatting Guide(s). There is also a lot of information on that site on how to create pages/templates/categories and do lots of other cool stuff. Another way is to simply copy someone else's user page and play around with it and make it your own. When I came to the wiki, I new nothing about how to create a page, but I grabbed some people's templates and codes and learned from them and edited them to my liking.
- If you need more specific help, please feel free to ask.- TheRave (talk) 23:13, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Thank you
D'oh thought I was doing something wrong, thank you for the input lol I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working for me :) appreciate the info, will definitely help for next time! Btw, how do you get a picture with your signature by chance? --Fraternal Hero 22:15, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- No problem, always here to help.
- To get a custom signature you need to go to your preferences then edit the section that says Signature with the code you want. Also its advisable to check the Raw signatures (without automatic link) box so you can add the link(s) yourself where you want them. For your reference the code for my signature is:
- <small>TheRave (talk)</small>
.- Hope this helps.- TheRave (talk) 22:21, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks lol something new to play with :) --- Frat 23:18, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- Also, just so you know, signature images are limited to a maximum size of 19px by 19px (as described in the custom signatures policy) so as to not affect the spacing of the text. You may want to change the image or add a size parameter to your signature code.- TheRave (talk) 06:19, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Archiving
While I appreciate you did the whole thing that I was too lazy to do, seems a bit odd that you deleted my comment in the process. It's not really a problem, but was it intentional? Misery 09:08, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hey sorry, the edit conflict warning didn't come up for me. That's happened to me a few times now. I've re-added your comment.- TheRave (talk) 09:17, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Something I've found is that if you go to pages using difs, you are actually editing a specific revision, so you get the "you are editing an outdated page" warning at the top of the edit window instead of an edit conflict. The warning is actually pretty small and looks mostly like the "this page is over 32 kb" warning, so I and I guess a lot of other people, ignore it subconciously. I actually made them change the warning on PvX to bright red because I always edit by difs and removed about 200 comments from talk pages one day. It's superfluous now because you gave a more complete answer, but if you bear that in mind in the future you might avoid some angry self-righteous contributors thinking you are censoring them.
