Anti-caster

Anti-caster is a term commonly used to describe a build which works extremely well against spellcaster-classes such as Monks, Mesmers and Elementalists and Ritualists. Such builds may include skills to remove the foe's energy (i.e Energy Drain), ability to cast spells on a specific target(i.e Spell Breaker), or to interrupt spells (i.e Power Drain or Magebane Shot, skills that cause Daze).

Typically, melee classes such as the Warrior, Assassin, and the Dervish carry attacks that target spell casters. Many spell casters have the effects of an enchantment on them, so melee classes may decide to bring Magehunter Strike, Assault Enchantments, on their lists of skills.

Spell casting classes set for Anti-caster often have skills that punish casters for using spells. The Mesmer is one class set for such a build, and often runs with skills that cause pressure (Backfire) or make skills easier to interrupt (Migraine).
