my warrior rebalance[edit]

is +- finished.I think I got the basics but the numbers proly are a bit off and I'm afraid some skills would be imbalanced.I would appreciate it if you would free some time to watch it and give your opinion : http://www.wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User:Lilondra/Gamebalance/Warrior Lilondra User Lilondra Eviscerate.jpg*gale* 20:59, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Shard stop pulling off a super igor and get you're hopefully well balanced ass on this wiki Lilondra User Lilondra Eviscerate.jpg*gale* 10:03, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
You need to register on our forums. There is a section there for the NWN module. Vent isn't posted yet but it will be. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 18:18, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
It was on there...maybe I deleted the thread when I was cleaning house. But yeah, play our NWN module...its extremely rock star.--*Yasmin Parvaneh* User yasmin parvaneh sig.png 18:40, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
I stole the nine rings idea from GW, but made it better. I also added a hairstyle changing system that only took me 20 minutes to do. Games 9 years old are technically superior to guild wars. rofl. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 18:49, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
You forgot to mention its more fun too. I'm wondering if we should make a forum or webpage just for the module, that way people don't see the spoilers log for the story. Also, I don't want a bunch of people on our forums who aren't uour friends--Lilondra & Boro are cool they should be on our forums anyway so when you get banned again, we can still talk.--*Yasmin Parvaneh* User yasmin parvaneh sig.png 18:56, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Want to use forumarena or invisionfree? I've never been superadmin on a forumarena thing, is it easy? ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 18:57, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
OK. sent my registration. BTW Good night folks! it's 21:02 at me. I might learn NWN and SC in the close future Boro 10px‎ 20:02, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Ignore the above post, I just setup a forum just for the module. Click me. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 21:13, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

(Edit conflict) Well, Vista's large foot-print was not an issue with the kinda hardware I'm running, I needed a solid 64-bit OS, and I've had bad expirences with 64-bit XP :P — Jon User Jon Lupen Sig Image.png Lupen 01:24, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Everything on this comp is great except the OS and the video card (integrated). eclipse won't run my game because vista's making it think it's a 64 bit program running on a 32 bit OS. Eva uses my old one [[1]] it runs GW @60fps and around 30 under heavy load. Vista gives it a 5.9 in rating. When i bought it it was 150 bucks, now it's like 60-70. If you wanna run a little better and still a good price i'd suggest the one i have [[2]] i got it for 200 but now it's like 100-125--adrin User adrin ecto sig.png 09:58, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
Also, Windows 7 runs GW really well, I also prefer it over XP 64-bit edition. I had nothing but problems with it and the support for it was rather poor. The beta for 7 is free, you get the Ultimate version and you get it until August in which you'll have to format and put on your old OS or buy it. Of course you should format every 6 months anyway for optimal performance =P --adrin User adrin ecto sig.png 10:03, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Just create your suggestion page in your userspace and link it here. I'm not sure when the rest of the pages are being removed, but that's why the creation templates are gone, and there are notices on the two main suggestion portal pages. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 23:04, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
I was wondering why the template was missing :P ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 23:05, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
No that's kinda the whole problem... if they barely read the real Bug & Suggestion sections that are very organized and easy to navigate, then they sure as shit won't reading any of them in your Userspace. But I say go-right-ahead to these "Wiki Elite" claiming consensus on this since they're just encouraging direct Trolling for dev attention ...which means entertainment for the rest of us --ilr 05:19, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
The discussion regarding deletion of the suggestion area has been going of for months on the Community Portal talk page and has been posted on the Request for comments page since the beginning. You all are more than welcome to participate in the discussion, but don't start claiming Elitism on the part of those who HAVE bothered to participate just because you haven't. I personally don't want them to be deleted, cuz I'd rather keep the trolls confined there rather than dispersing them out on staff pages, but meh, I'm only one, and one doesn't make consensus. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 05:27, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
"The angry rantings of 1,000 anonymous and unknown users was not equal to the reasoned, logical arguments from fifty well-known and experienced contributors." -Gwiki builds wipe commentary; I'm having one of those deja-vu moments. Vili User talk:Vili 05:32, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
And that just proves my point... The "Elite" are meeting the derogatory definition -of- elite by nature when they act in exactly a manner which proves their detachment from everyday life and consequences. IE: GJ, thanks for the Warning, but you're also wasting your time defending them --ilr 05:41, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Wtf are you talking about? What proves your point? The discussion regarding eliminating the suggestion areas has been very transparent and available to everyone. Vili's comment has absolutely nothing to do with anything here, since it's from a different time and a different place. Should you wish to contribute to the discussion, your comments would carry just as much weight as anyone elses. Btw.. I'm not defending anyone, just trying to point out the total fallacy of your logic. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 05:46, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
I didn't hear about it until I saw the template for adding suggestions getting removed. It might have been transparent to anyone who is a regular contributor to GWW, but to the other eighty percent of the userbase you might have well stuck it in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'beware of the leopard'. --76.25.197.215 05:52, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Wyn, Vili's comment makes perfect sense. The situation then and now is much the same, at least in that there exist a large clamoring mob, per se, and a smaller group of people who generally express themselves though rational argument. Granted, more context and commentary is needed to determine Vili's position on the current conflict, but it is nonetheless topical. Lord Belar 06:07, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

It's too bad no skills got changed. I'm sure hexway will be so much more beatable now that necros need 13 curses instead of 12 to get that third pip of degen. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 01:11, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
On the bright side, MoI took a huge hit :P.Pika Fan 01:15, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
I've never seen non-assassins use it. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 01:17, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
It's mainly in GvGs, pretty much made any spiked target unprottable. You get degenerate MoI dom mezzes and MoI runners. Now they are goneeeee.Pika Fan 01:18, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
I guess it would have been too hard to just make the skill balanced. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 01:19, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
It was on almost every ritualist runner, was used by smite monk midlines in ladder farming builds and often seen on midliners. The degen and sighum adjustments were to stop fastcast Lingering Curse mesmers. This was primarily a GvG adjustment, although the PwK nerf slightly affects tease heroes and N/Rts. Misery 01:21, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
This is the first intelligent update from Anet in a long time. Signet of Humility gets nerfed, 4 "no attribute" skills get nerfed, and 2 pointless nerfs.
"...because nothing got buffed" <- fix't Vili User talk:Vili 01:46, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Someone has to explain how this update succeeded in any way. MOI I can see. DD is slightly less powerful because at least strafing and hiding can stop it. Nothing else was changed. People ran the hexes at -3 before and they will run them at -3 now. Primal Rage warriors move 8% less fast than normal. Those are negligible changes. Someone please explain why "this is the most intelligent update they've done in a long time," because I just don't see it. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 01:51, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, Pragers can't catch people using 33% speed buffs now, nor 25% buffs as they'd move at the same speed (though it's still maintainable so...meh). Humsig was strong and so this helps to prevent its abuse etc.
But anyway, to answer your question, while I favor this update coz it didn't make anything worse, it's not really big news other than DD lolz. Vili User talk:Vili 01:53, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
It's a GvG-centered balance, and it does help with the unbalance GvG's been facing.Pika Fan 02:57, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

It's not the best update ever, but it's the best update in months because while they fixed some things, they amazed me by not seriously fucking up anything else. Every GvG team was either running a fast cast lingering curser for pressure or MoI on a midliner/runner for spiking/training. The 10 second skill disable is going to make all the GvG builds that ran MoI pretty ineffective, assacaster callers or something may see play. The nerfs to degen hexes were totally ineffective as everyone either runs them at 12 curses on a any/N or 14 on a N/any and the degen at these levels was not touched. This is similarly as ineffective as their nerf to Backbreaker. They seem to have missed the point that for a majority of skills, only the effectiveness at 12 and 14 matter. The more important nerf to the fast cast lingering build was the signet of humility change, big pressure plus disabling WoH caused the other team to collapse. Some teams were running three signets of humility, only one of those builds actually used mesmer skills, that won't be very viable any longer. PRage doesn't need to be smiter's booned, they adjusted it. It's probably still too powerful and I don't think we will see Eviscerate make a comeback yet. I don't really understand the ritualist nerf, it will make midline ritualists and ritualist runners who are at the stand after the flag has been planted slightly easier to spike down/pressure but realistically away from the stand you either have a flag in your hands or you are running away/turtling. If you get caught and they get a dshot on WoW, you die anyway, +14 armor doesn't save you. It will just make things moderately harder for ritualist runners and turn 94 armor squishies into 80 armor squishies. One advantage is that there will actually be a reason to have shield sets on a ritualist now, so people may have to think (Yes Shard, Ritualist primaries are used in GvG). As for the Guild Lord changes, we didn't really see 22nd minute Guild Lord ganks so I don't think we will see 12 minute Guild Lord ganks, but it moderately improves the viability of split play by making it a threat earlier in the game. I hope I don't eat my hat later on any of those changes, but that is my interpretation. The update had largely nothing to do with HA, but tease heroes and N/Rts will be slightly easier to kill. Misery 08:48, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

u dum nog, nobody runs n/rt when they can have a hero me/rt do the weapon spamming for them. -Auron 09:07, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
This meta was only covering up the broken one that existed before the last update. Onoes rits still have divine healing in an item, and they still have a hex that causes cripple twice. I'm not into GvG or HA much anymore, especially considering how bad players dominate those arenas with gimmicks, and it's just as hard to beat kill maps as it is for anet to balance a game. When I'm on, I generally only play AB, since it's the only pvp arena left where killing people isn't the primary objective and gimmicks can't rule it. ALso, you see bad pve builds there like flare necros and 55 monks. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 18:08, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Here is todays:
  • Strong was Update: For 1...1 months, Izzy creates a strong update that actually targets all the broken stuff, and doesn't create any more broken stuff in the game. (Attribute: Miracles.)
AMIRITE? DarkNecrid 04:25, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh yeah, and they did nerf MoI (just not in notes), it's roughly as strong as it was before they insane buffed it, only slightly more so, can't stop 3 second enchants anymore, and now disables stuff which has freed up slots. This is probably the best update the game has ever received ever, because while certain things weren't very strong choices (hello every Necro buff) on what to nerf, if he keeps this up we might get somewhere! DarkNecrid 04:28, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
If this was the best update ever ever, you haven't been playing for very long. I would argue that the addition (and soonafter the fixing) of skill templates was the best update to GW. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 05:18, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, my bad, I had just woke up when I posted that, I meant "the best update the games has ever received in quite some time." Which is pretty true IMO, the last update that nerfed stuff without buffing anything into OPness was half a year ago or more, IIRC. (Also I agree about the templates thing, although the J menu and Observer mode are definitely up there.) DarkNecrid 05:36, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Obs mode was a cool idea, but letting people basically steal builds from it by telling everyone what skills are being used was a mistake. Obs was supposed to be a tool for people to watch how top guilds use strategy, not what skills they bring. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 05:38, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Builds could (and were!) being copied anyways just from word of mouth/forums, though. It helped speed up the process sure, but really it's not much worse than PvX Wiki, and even if people copy builds they still won't be able to do much with it unless they practice/know strategies/use Searing Flames. I actually think that type of stuff is cool, the stats, and wish they had the manpower and time (if the game wasn't dying, y'know. That too.) to add more stats and have it seamlessly track that per battle in-game & on the site. But I love stupid stats so whatever. DarkNecrid 06:40, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

A lot of folks have been waiting to hear about the decision about the rules infraction in the last monthly automated tournament. We have been in the process of drafting a public message that will convey our decision. However, because of unforeseen circumstances (staff illness), and because the message needs to go through the approval process, as well as translation/localization, it will not be ready today as we had hoped.

But does the punishment really fit either crime when the real crooks just lost a little trim, but dissenters lose their voice? Do whatever fits the policy, just pointing out the gap between what Anet Says and its Community does.--ilr 06:27, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
If you read my post in the section on Regina's page, you will see that I as well do not appreciate their decision, or my post on guru, but I manage to do it without resorting to personal insults and attacks. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 06:32, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Why doesn't Anet just completely scrap PvP and make Build Wars a PvE-based game? Anet has failed at PvP for 3 and a half years and they just keep throwing away time and money on it. At the moment, I can find Korean grind fest MMOs that are less broken than Build Wars.
Now that level of pessimism OTH, even I don't agree with. The least of which being for the fact that Gw isn't an MMORPG to start with. --ilr 19:33, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Due to Vista being a piece of garbage, I cannot work on Crusade. Mac OS X is clearly better, but whatever. Our NWN module is swimming in a swamp. Yasmin and I have been putting in a ton 2000 minutes of time and we are pleased with how balanced it is compared to Build Wars, but that isn't saying much. Still got a long way to go. Contact either me or Yasmin to find out how to log on. Contact Izzy for tips on how to break it.
