Quest information[edit]
Requirements[edit]
Objectives[edit]
- Go to the Hammer Gate. Talk to Gate Guard Hollis.
Reward[edit]
- 250 Experience
Walkthrough[edit]
The Hammer Gate is situated in Old Ascalon, to the west of Ascalon City. Leave the city and head west (following the quest marker) until you see Gate Guard Sebastein. Talking to him will reveal that he has seen neither Duke Barradin nor the contingent of troops that followed him. He further mentions that Gate Guard Hollis will know more. Continue west towards the quest marker to find Gate Guard Hollis standing before the Hammer Gate.
Dialogue[edit]
Initial dialogue[edit]
- Captain Arne
- "I have a task for you, in the name of Prince Rurik. While the King's Army fights a defensive war against the Charr, a few of us, the Vanguard of Ascalon, have pledged to take the fight to our enemies."
- "Duke Barradin led a Vanguard force across the Wall yesterday, but we've lost contact with them. Go to the Hammer Gate in Old Ascalon and question Gate Guard Hollis. Learn what you can of the hereabouts and condition of Barradin's Force."
Intermediate dialogue[edit]
- Gate Guard Sebastein
- "Sorry, I don't know anything about that, but this isn't the only gate Barradin and his troops might have used. If you follow the Wall farther west, there's another gate under the command of Gate Guard Hollis. You ought to try checking with him."
Reward dialogue[edit]
- Gate Guard Hollis
- "Oh, I can tell you exactly where Duke Barradin went. Yes, he and a company of red-cloaked Vanguard troops passed north through this very gate. We rescued a deserter not long after that. Seems they fell under heavy attack, and the duke decided to push through, wanted to find refuge in the ruins of Piken Square."
