In the Ruptured Heart:

"I remember when crossing the desert was a warrior's a mark of accomplishment. My pride sent me out with only enough food and water to last one day. The journey took three. My travel left my lips burnt, my eyes longing for something beyond the next dune. My pride died in the hungry wind. My body, too.... Now I am nothing more than this sand. I no longer desire to make the trip to the dunes, but strive to help others succeed where I once failed."
