About Us

Our Guild began in 2005 and has managed to stay firm in its desire to create a ‘family’ atmosphere. This excerpt from Calundon’s (Cal) State of FOM Address March 2009 explains who we are. Cal is a FOM officer and past Guild Leader.

1. We are Fellows of Mythgar [FOM]. We are a group who gives of themselves and their time to help others out. This means fellow guildmates, alliance members, or total strangers. We share knowledge and fun. And the communication in the guild is done in a respectful, family-friendly manner. This commitment to a friendly, helpful, camaraderie-based gaming attitude is a trademark of FOM. Always has been and always will be. We are in an Alliance that brings a wealth of experience and opportunity to enrich our gaming experience. We have always looked for and found like-minded people in the Alliances we have joined.

2. Scheduled nights. The regularly scheduled nightly activities on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (PvP), and Alliance Friday provide our members and Allies with the knowledge that if they have something they need help with, they can make a request and it will get done. We leave many other nights open for anything else. When we are done with the regularly scheduled activities, we often are able to do other things together as a group or help others with needs. While some more flexibility in the schedules may be needed in the future, the scheduled nights have helped keep many people interested in grouping to help each other for common goals.

3. Responsiveness to member requests. This is a follow-up to #1. The forums are a good place to let people know your needs. Both in-game and on the forums, the officers and membership has always been ready to help people out or answer questions. When an alliance member calls for help, they can count on available FOM folks to come to the aid. On the forums, when people need materials or weapons, others are always there to share. When we think we have finally gotten the 100k+70ectos drop, we have others knowledgeable in those matters to tell us the truth. When people need something, we are there to help.

4. We are members who are real people with real world skills. In the past, people with computer knowledge have helped advise members about new computers. We have explored college sports topics, discussed what new bicycle to get, and turned other fellows on to a wide variety of YouTube funnies and webcasts. We have glimpsed some of the creative writing, animation, and film making talents of our members. Our websites have always been well done and a good place to come for a mental break from the day. This is a good group of great people who aren’t afraid to share a part of themselves with the guild. It makes for the community that is FOM.
