Kourna or Istan?[edit]

Is this mission really in Kourna? The outpost to enter the mission is in Istan and the Istan Region template lists both as parts of Istan. Poke 07:39, 15 April 2007 (EDT)

The location where the mission takes place is Gandara, the Moon Fortress which is in Kourna, but the outpost is in Istan, so not sure... =\ Probably better to leave them both in the Istan template, I think, since you can't technically "arrive" in Kourna until the mission is finished. --Dirigible 07:45, 15 April 2007 (EDT)
Ok, thanks. I changed it to Istan. Poke 07:52, 15 April 2007 (EDT)
Since all references to this mission over the course of the edits between this comment and the above point it to Kourna, it makes more sense for it to be reverted to a Kournan mission. To do the reverse would require many other pages to be edited, which I am not sure is the correct path. Chaiyo Kaldor 22:01, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Well, the mission starts in Istan. That's where the shield icon is (village). So it's an Istani mission imo. Sjeng 17:31, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
It is a Kourna mission. Look at the loading screen of the mission outpost. ContributionsWhy 14:17, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
well u start in istan but everything else happens in kourna --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.85.230.85 (talk).
The mission takes place on Gandara, the Moon Fortress, which is Kournan. However, if we take examples from the real world, consulates are official territory of the country who uses/owns the building and not territory of the country in which it resides. Since the description provides for official governmental business and use by Kournan and Vabbi ambassadors, as well as the Istani Elders, then we should try to determine who actually owns the Consulate itself. Just like Wehhan Terraces, which is owned by Vabbi, it shows the Kournan loading screens, so we cannot use loading screens as strict measures of location.HanokOdbrook 01:17, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Doesn't game functionality take precedence over debatable storyline details? The Docks are in Istan and you map there, not to Gandara, to play the mission. Hold Me Closer, Necromancer 03:34, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

How much exp does the standard reward give?[edit]

I haven't done nightfall missions in awhile. What is the standard reward? Invincible RogueUser Invincible Rogue siggyiggywiggy.gif 19:28, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Cooperative Mission. 1000XP, 100 gold, 1 skill point. Plus sunspear points. Freedom Bound 19:34, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Not really the first mission for non-Elona chars[edit]

I went to Kamadan today with an Assassin from Factions, knowing squat about Elona. The first mission chain I got (after Sunspears in Cantha) was Battle Preperations ->Securing Champion's Dawn ->A Land of Heroes - where you repell a Corsair attack at Dohjok Falls. This lead to The Time is Nigh and finally to Consulate Docks.85.182.14.205 11:33, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

In fact, it is the first mission for non-Elona characters. The "missions" you mention are actually quests.--Evil ape 11:22, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Can't start this.[edit]

I'm using a Proph char right. I have Dunkoro in my party and yet I can't start this mission. Do I actually have to finish the quests up until this mission or something? MrCheesecake 12:23, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

On a foreign character, you'll need to complete A Land of Heroes followed by The Time is Nigh before you can do this mission. User_Lyger_SignatureText.png‎yger talk 12:56, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Did you talk to Raid Marshal Mehdara on the dockside? Moebius the Malign 19:23, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

First Field Commander[edit]

I tried the "Ride the Lightning" skill on the foe that gets stranded behind the door, it Failed. Is there any way to gain cartography points in that location? (Jaxx Hammer)--173.16.56.248 16:47, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Captain Lumanda[edit]

She's a woman, but everyone, including the mission objectives, refer to her as "him". Should we add sic tags or a note at the bottom? Blue Totoro 06:29, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

Sic tags. Will add shortly. Konig/talk 07:52, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

Ferry[edit]

For Nightfall characters that get ferried to Consulate Docks, can they enter the Consulate Docks mission and skip the Istan primary quests? If so, do they have to be in a party with a character that has completed The Time is Nigh (who speaks to Raidmarshal Mehdara to enter the mission) or can they enter it by themselves? --Silver Edge 01:13, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

As someone who recently ran from Yohlon harbor to the end of the desolation, I'm pretty sure nf can't be skipped at all (much to my annoyance)
Raidmarshal Mehdara probably has some missing dialogue for parties containing players that got ferried, similar to how there is a dialogue missing from Dreamer Raja for parties that try to enter with somebody who has not completed Heart or Mind: Ronjok in Danger. >< -Chieftain Alex 09:01, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
I was under the impression that both the Consulate Docks ferry and the Desolation run were solely invented to get max armour and/or ancient armour and Vabbian armour respectively. - Infinite - talk 10:38, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
I seem to have tested Dreamer Raja and she doesn't allow entry into the Nundu Bay mission if you complete Heart or Mind: Garden in Danger but not Heart or Mind: Ronjok in Danger; unlike the Pogahn Passage/Rilohn Refuge and Dasha Vestibule/Dzagonur Bastion missions, which have mutually exclusive primary quests and the only mission entry requirement is to bring the required hero (i.e. Margrid or Master of Whispers) or have another party member bring the hero if you haven't recruited that hero yet. Prior to completing the primary quest that precedes a Nightfall mission, mission briefing NPCs (e.g. Yahyakun) have entirely different dialogue, whereas mission starter NPCs have the same dialogue except there isn't an option to enter the mission. --Silver Edge 18:27, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
