GoLE[edit]

Question: Why does the non-elite version of this affect two spells while this does only one? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.213.218.127 .

Perhaps because it does avoid exhaustion? - MSorglos (talk|contrib) 20:24, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Too bad with its massive Energy pool an Elementalist can ignore Exaustion. I'm not saying that this is a bad skill. Its just not as strong as it should be. GoE is elite which puts a damper on your choices. GoLE is not and allows you to cast two spells without worring about energy. And yes this skill has half the recharge but you need energy when you are casting not after. Done25 (will have an account soon)
I think the skill maybe should actually REMOVE some exhaustion. For 15 seconds, your next spell does not cause exhaustion and removes x points of exhaustion.68.226.80.7 16:21, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Ignored Exhaustion can be very beneficial on non-Ele primaries, like fast-casting Mes with Meteor Shower or something. Plus it's not tied to Energy Storage, so I guess that's a plus... though GoLE wasn't either... Da Si
Would be cool if this affected 2 spells as well. That might give birth to some high energy AoE builds...Nicky Silverstar 08:23, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
I would say increase the recharge time to maybe 15 seconds and have it affect 2 spells. that would be fair.

I think a neat way to work in "silverstar's" idea of it affecting 2 skills would be to tie it to ES so that at 0 ES it still does its old 1 skill trick but say at..8-12 ES it gains an additional charge hell you can even add a third at 16 for those who preffer higher energy pools over the ussual 10-15% damage increase ele skills get once they go past rank 12.. post your thoughts on this idea...Hector Taurus Zos

I think the gale spells are what keeps it from being changed much.
I can see why they wouldn't allow it to affect two skills, but it still isn't worth being an elite. How about something like that it grants +1 energy regeneration while active? It couldn't really be abused as you couldn't use any skills if you used it for the regen, but at least it'd be a way to regain energy. --Eyekwah 08:19, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
It has a much lower recharge than Gole, so I suppose it already fucntions as if it affected 2 spells or more. 145.94.74.23 11:11, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

...wtf[edit]

This skill has so little synergy. It is a horrible utility. And I ask of you this...why Anet, why? Readem (talk*gwwcontribs) 23:16, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Have to agree. Panic/Order of Apostasy would have been good benefactors but they're elite also. Animate Bone Fiend, Chilblains, Well of the Profane are really the only candidates that are 25 energy, but a necromancer would have Soul Reaping to fuel those. Balthazar's Aura and Light of Dwayna aren't worth using with this. It doesn't work with Binding Rituals and forms either (25 energy Anguish, Recuperation, Dissonance, Dissonance, Soothing, Shelter, forms are not spells and are elite). Ritualists' Xinrae's Weapon is elite. IN short it is really niche (Earthquake/Maelstrom). Meteor Shower is on 60 recharge so it isn't smart to use it with that. --Life Infusion «T» 20:59, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
In addition, Elemental Attunement is often better when Exhaustion is not a factor, such as with Eruption, Rodgort's Invocation, Deep Freeze, Lightning Hammer (not really since the glyph's recharge is higher than it).
GoE doesn't get stripped like an attunement. In addition, with an attunement you require that the spell be finished casting before you get energy back from it. If it is interrupted you lose all that 25e you used to cast it. GoE doesn't have this limitation. Nuff Said --118.90.21.43 05:05, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Alright, after that buff today this is venturing into OP territory. Saves you 20 energy every 7 seconds? that's crazy. Going to have fun with this one --118.90.21.43 17:12, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
8 seconds. And more likely to be used with Energy 15 spells. Backsword 17:27, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Not so bad, really. The problem before with Glyph of Energy was to make effective use of it, you needed to equip lots of 25 energy spells. But then your entire build was centered around it, meaning you only really did anything once every 10 seconds. Now it seems more reasonable. --Eyekwah 12:49, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
GoE, Earthquake, GoE, Dragonstomp. You just knocked down the entire map and have full energy, all with 3 skills. You have 5 more, not all of which HAVE to be 25 energy. FleshAndFaith 23:04, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Um... aNet? We have a problem[edit]

With the latest nerf, this skill now has a scale for how much energy it reduces the spell's cost by. But... it has no attribute attatched to it. o.O Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 23:31, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

It's now an ES skillFalcon Assassin 23:39, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
One of the last uses of this spell has now been broken, as a secondairy GoLE is even better as this elite. Rest in peace GoE. SniperFox 23:51, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Hey, just a simple question here... what spell could POSSIBLY cost you 35 energy in one blow!? o.O Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 00:03, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Meteor Shower + Quickening Zephyr? :O --71.229 00:05, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Ohai. My name is Doji. I use this in addition to Gale to earn myself Silver capes and champion titles.User:ISnowBunnyISnow Bunny 01:57, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Bleh...not much change, besides it was move to Energy Storage, they added 5 more energy reduction, I think they did this so no other class would mess with it, seems more PvE intended.--ShadowFog 20:31, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

35 Energy!! Spells[edit]

erm.... where? :S 86.62.250.4 08:22, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Quickening Zephyr Backsword 09:27, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Meep! What? :S thats a spirit and its 25e oO 86.62.250.4 09:28, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
lol nevermind I get it now -.-", still me finds it weird :P 86.62.250.4 09:29, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Makes 25 energy Spells into... 32.5. :D Halogod35 08:24, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
There are also regions in Nightfall that increase energy costs of spells similar to Quickening Zephyr
<sarcasm>Well, it's a good thing to know that if I equip Glyph of Energy that I don't have to worry about Quickening Zephyr in the Realm of Torment, because I can cast my spells for free, even if it costs 35 energy. </sarcasm> --Eyekwah 13:56, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

How about it simply read, "Your next spell costs no energy." *gasp* F33r t43 h@><!!! But seriously, why not? It's not even used much as it is, and it is difficult thinking up situations in which I will need to reduce my spell by up to 35 energy when a reduction of 35 energy will just about cover ANY single spell in any situation anyway. --Eyekwah 13:35, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

The Note[edit]

An intentional anomaly...can we remove it? last time I removed something I got chewed out, so I'll wait. 68.35.88.45 02:55, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. Something intentional isn't an anomaly as it's not unexpected. — Galil Talk page 03:01, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

coincise description?[edit]

normal description states 10 secs active time, concise states 15 secs...intentional?

xDDD Good eyes. Halogod35 08:21, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Shocking[edit]

I guess since the description states 'spells', this would not eliminate the exhaustion from Shock? 206.193.192.26 16:16, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Tested in Isle of the Nameless; it does not remove the exhaustion from Shock. --Michael the Perfectionist User-Michael the Perfectionist Signature.gif 00:12, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Gay. -- Halogod35 TALK TO ME NAO plz. :D 14:10, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
So you mean you like that effect? Weird. I thought you would dislike it. 145.94.74.23 11:07, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Buff Suggestions[edit]

So how could this be buffed to make it decent but not adding to the power creep ? How about "Your next 0...3 spells cost no energy and do not cause exhaustion" ? Master Ketsu 19:46, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Because that would be overpowered?--92.12.105.163 17:18, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps reduce/remove the recharge. With a 0 second recharge, it's a tradeoff between good energy management and an extra second to casting time. Maybe reduce the energy reduction, though. 70.92.240.69 00:25, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
This skill is fine the way it is, it basically makes your next spell cost 5 energy every 10 seconds. The biggest problem is that there are few skills to combine it with. As an energy management skill, however, is works great. I noticed that I didn't even need a secondary e-management skill when I use this, and that is how powerful an elite e-management skill should be. 145.94.74.23 11:06, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
I have an idea. (edit: Scales with Energy Storage)

5 Energy1 Activation time30 Recharge time Elite Glyph. (30 seconds.) Spells you cast cost no energy and do not cause exhaustion. Ends after a total of 5...29...35 energy has been spent.

Arcane Echo - Obsidian Flame - Glyph - spam Obsidian. Would be fun imo, throw in FH and bye Dungeon and End Bosses =D(and with a couple of these eles bye Rotscale also!)--84.192.7.219 09:08, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Elite Enchantment spell. 0....15 second(s). Your Skills cost 5 less energy and do not cause overcast. Negates overcast causing skills. Recharges every 25 seconds.

Arcane Languor ?[edit]

Does AL still triggers overcast ?--Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 13:23, 4 April 2016 (UTC)

My guess is yes, as I see it AL adds a separate packet of overcast whenever a spell is cast, while GoE just removes the internal overcast of a spell (doesn't make you immune to all overcast for 1...3 spells). Shouldn't be too hard to test, neither of these have PvP-splits so all it takes is a guild scrim. Jeree95 (talk) 16:02, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
