I made a new Design for this page: User:Murdoc/List of elite skills by campaign, so what do u think about it? --Murdoc File:Murdocav.png 14:27, 26 February 2007 (EST)

Very nice - makes the RSI I got from adding all those Elites worthwhile :D --Snograt whisper 17:53, 26 February 2007 (EST)

Is it just me, or was this page copied wholesale from GuildWiki? 20:48, 26 March 2007

This looks extremely similar to the Guild Wiki elite skill page: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Elite_skills_list --Kali Magdalene 18:35, 28 March 2007 (EDT)
If it ain't broke don't fix it? Guildwiki's way of organizing them worked find and easy to find. I don't see any reason to change it just to make it different. Laforge 18:42, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
It wasn't copied, it gradually made its way to look the exact same as GWikis, I suppose by accident. :P - BeXoR 02:28, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
Ok, it doesn't look like it anymore. - BeXoR 03:07, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
why isnt Lightbringer Signet on this page (is it for be considered a spoiler?)?SiLentStorm
Probably because it's a common skill (like the resurrection and cap sigs), and there is no section for elite common skills. HeWhoIsPale 14:19, 2 May 2007 (EDT)
BUT, for the sake of completeness, it should be. Would add it meself, but I just know I'd break the formatting ^^ --SnogratUser Snograt signature.png 14:33, 2 May 2007 (EDT)
I added it. -- Gordon Ecker 20:59, 2 May 2007 (EDT)
Tks SiLentStorm

Eye of the North[edit]

Added an eye of the north section along with a few skills. If anyone else could add the elite skills they see in gw:en I would really appreciate that. Also, please read the note left in the section when editing. --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 00:12, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

I fleshed out the gwen section by adding info available elsewhere in the wiki already; I browsed the area and dungeon lists and added whatever was already listed to this table. The skills themselves still need to be updated over the next little while, and several bits of information elsewhere were incomplete, but the table has more useful data now, hopefully. --shadguy 06:15, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
We need to add to the Acquisition section of those skills where to get them in the Eye of the North. --Pulse 21:05, 7 September 2007 UTC

Should we really list Core elites for EotN? We don't for any other chapter. Backsword 21:26, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Eye of the North shouldn't be on this list at all imo, no elite skills are specific to Eye of the North. - anja talk 21:34, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
I have to agree. We don't list Factions elites like Star Burst, Shroud of Silence, etc., under Nightfall just because they can be capped there. The List of elite skills by capture location is enough. --Valshia 21:57, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Good point about List of elite skills by capture location. Seem to be where this info belongs. Should we not change this page to only include the Norn elites, and make the note point to the right page? Backsword 08:31, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Definitely a good idea. - anja talk 14:40, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Can we list EotN skills so I can come here and see which skills are available in the campaign. So I can look over it and see if I want to capture anythign from there.EDIT: This is different from core skills because you know all of them are available in every campaign. EDIT: By capture location is MUCH harder to navigate. Is there any harm to listing the elite skills in this category? SystemisFlawed SystemisFlawed
I think it can definitely confuse people to think capping those elites would make them usable, even if you do not own the correct campaign. The capture locations for each skill is still listed on the skills individual page, so I personally think we have enough lists/places already to complement eachother - anja talk 16:09, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Agreed. Although I partially think that some of the other categories are harder to navigate than this one. I wasn't aware owning EotN didn't let u use elites capured there (I own all 4 games), is there a not for that?. Anon

War in Kryta[edit]

Should we have a War in Kryta table? Mostly the same for/against reasons as the EoTN table, which we have, but I thought I'd ask. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 19:11, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

anniversary skills[edit]

the 10 new skills need to be added by hand ... :( Steve1 (talk) 09:11, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

Technically they are core skills, however the capture location is campaign-based? - - Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 09:58, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
yes. Feel liek doinf that menial task? ;) Steve1 (talk) 10:19, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
Since this is not "...by capture location", they simply go into the Core table. - Infinite - talk 11:23, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

rename / move[edit]

Not a fan of the move. Is installment an official term? Even so, campaign applies well enough to 3/4, and EotN despite being an expac is included on Campaign. Also, we also use terms like "Core" for campaign-agnostic locations/globally accessible skills, despite there not being a "Core" campaign. horrible | contribs 13:53, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

I agree with this move, on the account that each part of a story is an instalment (installment in US English, which we use here). It is unambiguously the correct term for the campaigns and expansion, plus additional large updates afterwards.
The whole Core thing is Arenanet's terminology and I also feel it's pretty weird. The Core part of the game is still a result of each instalment and without any of the campaigns, cannot be accessed at all. If the Core definition didn't exist in-game, I would argue we shouldn't use it. Especially in light of the latest addition of new PvE-only Elite Skills, this terminology becomes even more difficult to explain to readers. - Infinite - talk 16:01, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
Hello horrible, I was looking for the correct word to use instead of campaign (since there are exactly three campaigns) and was inspired by Guild Wars Eye of the North: "Guild Wars Eye of the North, sometimes abbreviated to EotN or GW:EN, is the fourth purchasable installment in the original Guild Wars game". An alternative could be "release", as per the "GW release" box at the bottom of aforementioned page.
EotN is included on Campaing, but it's stated there that it isn't one. If you guys like "release" better, you got my vote. If you come up with an even better word: Also fine. But campaign is suboptimal. ;) Steve1 (talk) 19:40, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
"release" does seem more accurate Mist Y (talk) 10:14, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
