Yes? No? I have no strong feelings either way. DominatorMatrix, what did you mean by "think rabbit" in your edit summary? Calor Talk 00:08, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

im thinking of the place near the river where the rabbit is in eotn (yes theres a place like that in pre..) Dominator Matrix 00:09, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps. I don't know where exactly that is, sadly. Screenshots of location and maps? Calor Talk
says location, and on screenshot....Dominator Matrix 00:11, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
to get to it, walk into the cave near the bridge and left to regent vally sign.... is he talking about the "garden" near fort ranik thats unreachable due to a HUGE wall?Dominator Matrix 00:13, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that one, the one that you can actually "reach" in Pre by squeezing somehow. I never was able to do it, but i have seen lots of references about it.--Fighterdoken 00:20, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Ive made a pre character now to go get screen shots and directions. -- Salome User salome sig.png 15:35, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh well that was easy. no squeezing involved. yay me :) okay now to upload screen shots. -- Salome User salome sig.png 15:52, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Controversial?[edit]

Isn't the secret garden also a name for the Garden of Eden? Anybody see a relationship? Bisurge 04:54, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

the secret garden is what we as a community call it, but as their is neither reference to it by anet in game or outisde the game, the name can not be considered to be canon. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 12:23, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

How To Get Here[edit]

To get to this garden (it's not a portal) you have to go into the shrubbery from the left side of it and move diagonally to the right. That's the only way to squeeze into the cave. Complete directions: Fort Ranik down, west, up, river on right side, through the shallows, into the shrubs DIAGONALLY FROM RIGHT TO LEFT TO GET PAST THE ROCKS then FROM THE LEFT OF IT DIAGONALLY TO THE RIGHT, through the cave, into the garden. Bisurge 07:12, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

This article makes it sound like a great feat to get in...just walk up to bushes and move around a lil bit and you fall into the cave pratically. What is wierd is that if you dont kill all the skale out side occasionally one will follow u in.--Justice 08:07, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Is there a collection of SS's of The Secret Garden anywhere? This is the first time I've heard of it, and I've been playing for a little over a year. I can't re-make a toon either to see it, though as my slots are maxed out and don't feel like deleting any toons. :( Healing Paradox 12:21, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

new note?[edit]

Should a note be added that in post searing the area is nowhere to be found and that the land bridge has changed into a stone bridge. and its now hills.75.165.115.205 04:36, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Their's already a note stating it isnt there in post searing and I don't think that level of detail is needed as to whats there in post searing. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 13:29, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

move article?[edit]

Shouldn't the article be written in minorcase for using an unofficial name? —ZerphatalkThe Improver 12:36, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Why? It's a title used by the playe base, however as a title it would still conform to Standard English Rules. That's just my wee thought, I could be wrong on that. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 13:28, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Regarding the move:Unless lowercase in the game, the title of the article should either be "The Secret Garden" or The Secret Garden - as it should conform to Standard English Rules - as Salome said. However, within the article, it should be either "The Secret Garden" or the secret garden, as it would not be a title. Same goes for all other "player named" articles. -- Azazel The Assassin\talk 15:02, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Honeycombs?[edit]

Alright, most useless thing to get in from here in Pre..
But, since you get them none-the-less...
BEX, is renaming this to "The Honeycomb Hideout" -- StimpsonJKat 17:55, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Definitely NOT useless — change zone and you can use two of them with a +5% moral boost and +1 on the sweet tooth title track each. (Total +10% moral and +2 Sweet tooth.). They are inactive in town – you do not need maral boosts in town. Max 2 17:28, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
and what good is moral boosts in pre?... that was the point I was making - 64.180.192.76 22:27, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Well, when I get a boss-kill +2% bonus (Charr bosses, Skullreaver), I get the usual +2% Health and Energy. I'd really hope it works the same when I get a +5% from a Honeycomb, or more accurately, +5%, not +2%. Cynique 12:06, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

The Secret Garden[edit]

Now Nicholas is here I think this place needs a new name. It's hardly a secret anymore. -- BlackHoleSun 12:17, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

It's already too widely known as the Secret Garden or Melandru's garden. Changing it's name would only confuse people. ~ KurdUser Kurd sig.png 12:22, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Hmm. Given how it's never been a garden, The Secret Garden, we should just refer to it as "The". Backsword 14:21, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
LOL @ backswords comment. As for the name change, it's well known in game as the secret garden (regardless of how secret or garden-esuqe it is) thus I think the name should stay as it is. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 14:30, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Is he always in this location, or does he move as Nicholas the traveler does?

It should be named The Hidden Cove as it is no longer secret and was never a garden to begin with. Where people came up with "Garden", I will never know. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:76.119.128.122 (talk).
It takes more than a random IP to make that decision about an area whose name has remained unchanged for four years. It's staying as Secret Garden unless the community decides to call it something else.~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 04:19, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
We can all just start referring to it as something we want it to change to. I like to call it "Professor Yakkington's Laboratory" or "The Yakk Cave." It will catch on, trust me. FleshAndFaith 08:04, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Way back up to what Kurd said. I've always heard it called "The Secret Garden" or "Melandru's Garden." Since Nick was implemented, me and friends just call it by the second now. Magic User Magic Icon.jpg Talk 06:42, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
To be honest I didn't believe my name for the spot would last as long as it has, but yup way back when at Guild Wars Guru I named the spot Melandru's Garden, I even created the original wiki page on here too. Its been edited alot since then. I'm surprised that me, one single person, has had such a long standing and lasting effect on the community. Really cool. 'Arcanis the Omnipotent' 05:59, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
I have never heard it called Melandru's, only the Secret Garden. 69.182.134.81 03:38, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Possible Reference?[edit]

I'll never forget this movie i saw that was made from a book i read called The Secret Garden, and i was just wondering is this was a reference to that. it was a pretty popular book/movie Supercharged Tidus 21:17, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

It would be nice if they did move alittle. There are several different regions in presearing for him to move.

  • Ice Elemental Cave
  • Earth Elemental Cave
  • Skale Brood Mother Cave
  • Healing Spring
  • Piken Square
  • "The Secret Garden"
  • Devourer Cave
  • That candle room in the Catacombs
  • Merchant camp in Green Hills
  • Melandru's Statue
  • Actors Stage
  • Mary's "Garden"
  • Druken Bear Hunters

Just a few ;-) Justice 07:55, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

I agree with this. Presearing has many locations worthy of hosting Nick's presence. Oh, and you forgot "Rabbit Hill" near Ashford. PariahUser Pariah Pariahmoa.pngtalk 04:56, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Also, I believe you cannot get to Piken in Pre-searing. 69.182.134.81 02:33, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Yea you can ... its just uninhabited, its in the northlands go look --68.231.109.7 20:11, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Pre-Nick[edit]

I'm gathering from the convo on this talk page that this landmark existed before the update that added Nick and his yak to the game...should that be noted within the page? It's relevant info if it's existed for four years. Also, did the place have anything in it to begin with?--Ph03n1x 07:06, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Since no one has answered, I shall. Yes it existed. I liked to go there before Nick and every person knew about it. Before Nick it had a lot of stuff in it, mostly plants, ruins, and water. --'Mai Yi' talk 23:20, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
By a lot of stuff, it had everything you see there now with the exception of Nick and Yackington. There was really no reason to go in there at all beyond the simple joy of exploring pre-searing (which seems to be a popular past time in GW). There are lots of places in pre that are similar to this one. 110.32.0.67 05:16, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
