Change of format

At the moment, the weekly bonus page and the login screen page have different formats. So editors need to do unnecessary work when copy-pasting stuff from one page to the other.

Could we change the format of one of the 2 in order to make it conform to the other?

Login screen and ls-archive both use the same format, so it's probably better to change this one.

We can use a template I had prepared in my userspace, {{Weekly bonuses}}, to type the same thing on both pages and get the different formats. (Regretably for the first few weeks we'd have to update the template with the event names and descriptions too.)

I'm looking at automating the template on Login screen announcements using User:Chieftain Alex/Templates/Weekly bonuses/Auto, but that won't be complete until we find out how many events are in the cycle. -Chieftain Alex 09:30, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

And while we're at it: At the moment people just add the newest events at the top of the "Events" "Weekly bonuses" table. Shall we just keep it like this? Or change it to an alphabetical list? Divide it into PvP and PvE? Thoughts? I'd prefer to change it either to a strict alphabetical list or divide it into PvPvE and then alphabetizise. Steve1 (talk) 20:42, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Lets automate this and be done with it

Ok I've now written {{Automated weekly bonuses|format=Weekly bonuses}} so I intend to use it somewhere here.

Any thoughts on archiving all of the text options to an archived notice page (with each item only once), and just displaying this week's blurb? (still keeping the table) -Chieftain Alex 23:42, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

I suggest doing the same for Login screen announcements/Archive#Weekly bonuses, since Login screen announcements is now also automated. If for some reason someone wanted a page to document which weekly bonus occurred during which week, a page similar to Zaishen Mission/cycles could be created (and automated if possible). --Silver Edge 14:59, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

"Excluding completed books"

What exactly does this mean? It's the Elonian Support bonus this week. I filled in the remaining pages in my NM copy of Night Falls. I turn it in to the Sunspear guy, and both he and the wiki page say I'm getting 6k Sunspear points. However, I check my titles list, and it says I'm now at 19k Sunspear, up from 7k Sunspear. That's 12k points, so the book got doubled even though it was completely filled out. Is there a bug, or does "completed books" mean books you completed before the week started? Do partially completed books get double points? What about partially completed books where you filled out at least one page during the same bonus week you turn it in? 67.80.218.108 20:33, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

It should mean that points from any books (like Night Falls) are not doubled, regardless of how many missions have been completed. So it seems like you found a bug. Steve1 (talk) 21:27, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

There is something very strange going on with doubled points, or maybe the Sunspear/Lightbringer points are just glitched (in a beneficial way). It's the ZM bonus week right now, and I just accepted and completed the quest for Nundu Bay. I think my LB points jumped 1k instead of 500, because I could have sworn I'd had 14.8k before turning the quest in. Here's a screenshot I took of the results (you'll have to take my word for it that no other LB points were added between when I turned the quest in and when I took the screenshot): [1] And now that I think about it, the LB rewards from the mish itself must have gotten doubled as well, because I went from 14.4k to 14.8k, which should not have happened, now that I think about it. I don't know if it's something about the last day of a bonus week or what. Okay, it's still Wayfarer's, and I turned in a NM Hero's Handbook to the dwarf guy at 79k dwarf points ... and it got doubled (even though the game reports the normal amount) and I went up two ranks, as you can see from this screenshot. This time, I turned in a book that I had completed long before, so the bug doesn't seem to be tied to that. It's a different character, too. 67.80.218.108 15:43, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

I've added a note about it to the article. The only things that still need testing is if points are doubled for:

• turning in books that haven't been 100% filled during the corresponding bonus

(reset indent) I turned in a completed NM Shiro's Return during Wayfarer's and it didn't get doubled--I went from 45k Lux title to 85k Lux title. Of course, I'll be keeping an eye out in future, just in case. Bug is bugged

Turned in a completed Night Falls (normal mode) book today during the Elonian Support Bonus and didn't get double Lightbringer points (6,000 instead of 12,000). I completed the two remaining pages today (the two missions that require Margrid the Sly to be in the party) and got double Sunspear points for completing those missions for the first time on this character. Maybe the bug doesn't affect every Elonian Support Bonus week or the bug only affects the weekend (i.e. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; former weekend event duration)? I just realized that both of the times I'd gotten doubled points were on Sundays, while I remember turning in Shiro's Return during the middle of the week (but am not sure what day), so that second option would fit very well... Just have to keep my eyes peeled. It surprises me that this wouldn't be a bug carried over from weekend events, and yet I can find no mention of it on the weekend events page or its talk page. 96.246.211.129 16:37, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Okay, I don't know how to explain it now. It's Sunday, EotN week, almost 3pm Pac time, and I just turned in a completed NM Hero's Handbook to the Norn guy, but it reverted to the "tell you you're getting half the correct amount, but give you the correct amount" bug noted on the Hero's Handbook page. It was the first time my character (that I mentioned above on 25 September 2013) turned in a Night Falls book. It could be specific NPCs/titles that are bugged. Based on the above comments, books turned in for Sunspear and Deldrimor/Dwarf points are doubled; while Lightbringer, Norn, and Luxon title points aren't doubled. --Silver Edge 04:17, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

A completely filled Master Dungeon Guide (hard mode) is suppose to award 60 k points. Unless you meant Master Dungeon Guide (Normal mode) with 17 pages filled (30 k points, which was doubled to 60 k)? --Silver Edge 06:52, 24 February 2014 (UTC)

This bug is definitely fixed. During the double bonus event (e.g. since 13 Aug 2018), the completed storybook is counted as a half of normal points, and as a result, the double bonus gives the same amount of points as usual. For example, turning in the fully filled Hero's Handbook NM to Lexx shows in the chat:

You receive 4 platinum.

You gain 10,000 Asura reputation points.

You gain 40,000 experience.

In fact, my character got 20,000 Asura reputation exactly as should be normally for this storybook. During the double bonus, all received points are doubled from the (normal) amount shown in the chat window. --109.252.109.37 09:34, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

It's been 16 weeks since the weekly bonus update was implemented, and since then we've observed 9 PvE-related weekly bonuses. While that isn't conclusive information, one would argue that the double experience from elite skill capturing weekend events has not been carried over into the weekly bonuses. - Infinite - talk 13:01, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Vash and Eurayle

This past week was the Factions Elite Bonus week, and I noticed something interesting. If you load into an empty district of Kaineng City, Vash and Eurayle load in at the portal from Bukdek Byway and walk together towards the big red platform (by the Imperial Quartermasters) before splitting and heading to their respective sides (as opposed to simply spawning in their places like all other NPCs do, including temporary holiday ones). Is this worth noting? None of the bonus weeks have their own pages, so I'm not sure whether it's worth noting here, on Vash and Eurayle's respective pages, or not at all. Thoughts? You could note it on the pages of those NPCs. They seem to enter the same way Kurzick Guards and Luxon Guards do. If I remember correctly, when entering an empty district of an outpost in Echovald Forest or the Jade Sea (that Kurzick or Luxon Guards spawn in), Kurzick or Luxon Guards (depending on which faction controls the outpost) will run into the outpost from one of the explorable area portals; if you are in an Echovald Forest or the Jade Sea outpost (that Kurzick or Luxon Guards spawn in) when the faction that controls it switches (due to the Kurzick-Luxon border changing) the guards of the opposing faction will run into that outpost to fight (using attacks and skills) and kill the guards stationed there. --Silver Edge 06:58, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

This might be a strange question, but it just occurred to me to wonder, are lp drops increased only from foes, or from other sources as well? Since they're also available from presents/containers and interactive objects that drop a variety of things. foes only afaik, much easier to code for only foes... otherwise you'd need two internal drop rate tables for each box that drops them, and I doubt anyone bothered to do that. -86.154.221.242 10:57, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
