About Chie Hatashey
Name: Chie Hatashey
Nationality: Canthan
Country of Origin: Cantha
Age: 20
Chie Hatashey was born to two nobles residing in the village in the west of Minister Cho's Estate south of the gates to Ran Musu Gardens. She was talented at an early age in the ways the monk and was accepted into Shing Jea Monastery at an early age. This was where Haru Amara met her for the first time. To this day, Chie has no idea why Haru acts nervously around her, though all her friends do. From day one of seeing her, Haru has had almost a childish crush on her because of her popularity, skill, intellect and beauty. However he knows that Chie will never fall for him, Chie has always liked the big brawny warrior type. Chie, however, noticed Haru's thing for her and began to notice him and include him in her circle of friends. She noticed that Haru always looked out of place with her rich, outgoing companions and then began to meet Haru in secret, away from her friends' prying eyes. These two began to become friends until that fateful day when Haru was forced away on an assignment with Tomi Kin Ronin for a month. Chie was walking on her own along the beaches of Sunqua Vale when a group of Crimson Skull kidnapped her and took her to their guild hall in Panjiang Peninsula. When Haru came back, he realized she was gone and led a small force of assassins to search Shing Jea. At last, Haru, Tomi and their assassin friends found her and attacked the Crimson Skull. Many died on both sides, but Haru grabbed Chie and the assassins crept into the shadows and disappeared. Chie realized how close she came to death and thanked Haru by kissing him on the lips. Then she left for Kaineng City to help those in poverty. Haru has tried to find her but has failed miserably. Chie misses Haru dearly, but knows that helping those less fortunate is more important. Until the Afflicted came...

Story
The peasant snatched the soup bowl from Chie's hands and began to down the thick liquid. Small chunks of carrots dropped from his mouth and he scooped them from the floor and ate them quickly. Chie left the peasant and walked back to the soup kitchen. She couldn't believe how contrasting the southern areas of Kaineng were to the modern, clean areas near the Center. As she walked into the hall of the soup kitchen, the young monk sighed. All around her people were dying of hunger, disease and other conditions, and she could do nothing but feed them soup and watch them rot away week by week. In her naive years at Shing Jea Monastery, Chie dreamed of charity and smiling workers and easy living. Instead she had fallen into the quicksand of poverty, and she couldn't climb out. The monk thought to herself; it was all the Ministry's fault. The Ministry workers rolled around in their gold, whilst people here were rolling in their filth. Chie absent mindedly poured another bowl of soup and gave it to another peasant. Suddenly, alarms sounded and a voice shouted from above the roof of the kitchen "AFFLICTED ATTACK! STATIONS PEOPLE!" Chie ran to her position behind the warriors standing at the doorway, with rangers behind her, and fellow monks standing patiently, waiting for those 'monsters' to fight. Well, at least she wasn't handing out soup.
