Backbreaker is awesome[edit]

There, I moved it.

The way I see it, there are three hammer elites worth bringing: Dev hammer, Earthshaker and Backbreaker. Out of the three, I guess you could say that ES is superior to Dev Hammer, costing only one more strike and yet doing AoE KD. So it pretty much comes to ES vs BB. I like BB more because when it connects, that's it, something dies. Backbreaker is like those skills that get better and better when you get better - and BB never "hits a ceiling". With earthshaker, you need to get lucky (Read - get two people next to each other) to get a kill. Plus, with BB you don't need to pack shock, Bull's is usually enough. That means your secondary is open for a shadow which you can use to be lazy and hammer down on unprotted monks.

I don't know, maybe it's just me. I always had a hardon for Backbreaker. In fact, back in my day...

...yeah, there is a back in my day part. Too bad, you gotta live with it.

Anyway, the last time I played serious gvg was two years ago. When I did, I always played exclusively hammer warriors or Earth eles. So, this one match, I convinced my leader (My old guild is trashed and disbanded, tbh, I don't even remember the name, lol) to go fuck splitting and go hard on the stand. Our roster was 3 warriors (0ne axe and two BB hammers), one warder (This was back when good warding was gamebreaking) two rangers and two monks. Just our luck, the game went down on frozen, the isle of death splits. Just our luck, again, the opposing team was geared towards 4 vs4 splitting, so we were very much like... huh.

At any rate, we went out of the gate, and met them in a standard 7vs7 battle on the stand. Of course, with our aggressive frontline (We didn't have a midline, lol) and me warding out backilne (not that back, so more like semimiddle line) we dropped 'em like flies. So they split. We had to send the two rangers back and make and aggressive push. You know that small cave in frozen? Yeah, it was a bloodbath between the six of us and the 20 of them (with Npc's, ofc). We got rid of all the guards, but had to get back because they had mesmers and we didn't have rangers. We met with our rangers, and smashed their face in at our base. After that, we collapsed ont he fuckers and called it a day.

I've been in love with BB ever since then. Was that story relevant? Not really. Does it still apply today? Probably not. Still, BB is awesome. -- NUKLEAR User NuclearVII signature 3.jpgIIV 15:13, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Dev Hammer is pretty awesome, and Magehunter's says hi. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 21:34, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Against ES, the only thing Dev has it going for it is being cheaper. Earthshaker, on the other hand, can KD multiple people, which makes it much better than Dev.
Magehunter's is not good for getting kills. It is good for that KD on the infuser during the spike, but a bar with magehunters rarely packs a killing blow - mostly because the majority of your targets will be blocking. -- NUKLEAR User NuclearVII signature 3.jpgIIV 13:16, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
And yet, both are better than backbreaker, which is neither spammable nor good for taking down the second monk for a spike (the chances of neither monk being protted is nil, so either the spike-target monk is protted and lives, or the other monk is protted and backbreaker misses).
Basically, the backbreaker sins do everything a backbreaker warrior tries to do, plus it packs more damage on a spike, builds backbreaker more quickly, and can bring any number of assassin utility skills like ddagger, if required. The warrior, on the other hand, attacks slowly to build adren, can't use flail for every spike lest the target run away, and is (most of the time) not lethal. -Auron 23:44, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Seriously, BB only takes two more strikes. Two. You trading two more strikes for 1 additional second of KD. Tbh, that's a good trade. All hammer KD skills can be used for the same purpose (unlike ranger elites) and they do the same thing with different flavours.
Another thing BB has going for it is split power. If you go 4 on 4 splits, chances are, both split teams will have a single monk, making BB godly. On the stand, you get to take out one monk from the spike ( should be able to hit an unprotted monk, done it many times) making the spike 50% more likely to go through.
BB sins, on the other hand, don't pack the pressure of bull's warriors do, nor do they get to spam BB more frequently because you have Echarge. A warrior is also more flexible.
I guess it's personal preference, though. -- NUKLEAR User NuclearVII signature 3.jpgIIV 09:09, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Dude. Sins get dual strikes and FGJ. They don't need echarge. They hit with BB, unleash chain, then BB again for the hell of it. Wars can't come close to that. -Auron 09:42, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Averaging one strike every .99 seconds does that. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 12:01, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Except FGJ takes an eternity to recharge. Except Assassin's don't have bull's. Therefore, they don't have the pressure a warrior has.
So the common comparison between warriors and assassin's apply here: Warriors are more flexible, assassins are glass cannons. -- NUKLEAR User NuclearVII signature 3.jpgIIV 12:12, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
No. Backbreaker is not dev hammer, nor is it earth shaker. Backbreaker warriors are glass cannons plus bull's strike, which doesn't automagically equal pressure. They have very little damage between spikes - they can't even spam adrenaline skills because that would make backbreaker take even longer to recharge. Basically, backbreaker warriors are trying to be backbreaker sins, but because they can't instagib as well, they throw in bulls strike for the hell of it. If the warrior wanted to actually pressure shit, he'd be dev hammer. If he wanted to actually kill shit in spike-every-10-seconds buttonmash fest, he'd be assassin. Backbreaker does neither as well as either of those. -Auron 12:22, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
And Earthshaker warriors get to spam adrenal attacks, becuase ES takes only two hits to recharge, amirite? You're overestimating the adrenal cost of BB. It is only two hits away from Earthshaker. That's not a huge margain. But an additional second of KD is. See: Old gale vs new gale.
Actually, adding bull's strike automagically adds awesome pressure. Bull's means your target can't kite, which means he can't kite your hammer attacks. Last I checked, Auto-attack DPS of a hammer was fatal, whereas dagger DPS was comparable to mosquito bites. Does an ES get more DPS? Probably. Is the margain between ES and Dev hammer huge as you make it out to be? No fucking way. Is the DPS margain between warriors and assasins huge? fuck yeah.
So BB warriors fall between BB sins and Dev Hammers. They have stronger DPS than BB sin, but a weaker spike. They have a stronger spike than Dev hammers, but lower Pressure. It evens out.
Also, I lol'ed at "backbreaker warriors are trying to be backbreaker sins". -- NUKLEAR User NuclearVII signature 3.jpgIIV 14:40, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
The thing is... enraging charge takes a chunk out of 7. Echarge, bulls a target, flail, dev -> crushing -> bash -> bulls. You can't do that at all with backbreaker. It's echarge, bulls a target, bulls another target, bulls a third, backbreaker once, wait for echarge because 10 adrenaline is an assload, bulls a target, get low on energy, backbreaker again 30 seconds later. That isn't mentioning simple things like faintheartedness or miss chance hexes, which double or triple the time it takes to gain adrenaline on hammers. That's when you start noticing that the difference between earth shaker and backbreaker is an assload.
And I'm still not convinced that those two extra adrenaline are doing anything. Knockdowns with stonefist are already 3 seconds - bulls, bash, dev hammer, earth shaker, whatever. You're not only sacrificing spammability (as I've explained above, 2 adrenaline takes about 5 seconds longer to attain, which, in the course of a match, equals at least an additional minute (usually longer) spent just building adrenaline), but you're sacrificing the secondary effect (which, for Earth Shaker, is immeasurable - the ability to interrupt an entire team and prevent them from moving or using skills) for 1 damn second of knockdown? You're overestimating how much better a 4s KD is compared to a 3s. It really isn't that much of a difference. A target is either going to die or he's not. If you're trying to deep wound him while KD'd, use dev hammer. If you're trying to snare half the team with one go, use earth shaker. If you're trying to get one monk on his ass while the party spikes another target, use magehunters. Backbreaker tries to fill that niche that magehunters already fills - except it's 2 adrenaline more expensive and is blockable. Backbreaker has a huge adrenaline cost and returns almost nothing for it. Backbreaker might be fun to use, but it really isn't that damn good, unless you're exploiting the knockdown length - which warriors simply don't do.
If the skill was any good, people would be running it. Hammer warriors are on obs left and right. What are they using? Earth shaker, dev hammer, and magehunter's - occasionally something dumb like warrior's endurance. But nobody's running backbreaker, except on assassins. -Auron 15:01, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Pot = Protective Was Kaolai?[edit]

Huh? --JonTheMon 17:23, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Common term. — Skakid 17:41, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
How common? And how was it derived? --JonTheMon 17:57, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
PWK would make sense but POT isn't even similar.- TheRave User TheRave sig.jpg (talk) 18:01, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
It's an ash, ashes are carried in pots, the only ash commonly used is this one, so it got nicknamed "pot". I think that's it. Erasculio 18:03, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
So because it's the "most commonly used" item spell, it gets its own redirect that ambiguous to generic item spell? --JonTheMon 20:44, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Nobody uses pot to mean anything but pwk. -Auron 20:48, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Like Auron said, it's not a matter of it being the "most commonly used" item spell and thus being redirected from "Pot". It's a matter of it being the "most commonly used" and so being nicknamed in game as "pot", and thus being redirected. It's not our place to tell people in game "stop calling PWK Pot!", just to document that they do so (...or at least appear to do so). Erasculio 20:52, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
I'd turn it into a disambig page with links to both Protective Was Kaolai and item spell. -- Gordon Ecker 00:56, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Does anyone use "pot" to refer to item spells in general? I've heard PwK referred to as pot upwards of a hundred times, but I've never heard any other item spell (nor item spells in general) ever called "pot." We would have an inaccurate disambig page if we were "documenting" that people use a term when they don't. -Auron 01:10, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

People say "drop a pot" when they want you to drop Protective Was Kaolai. It's like people saying "GvG" when they want to Guild Versus Guild. — Skakid 01:14, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

IMO, that's really odd. But, I don't run in circles where that may/may not be said, so I'll just bow out. --JonTheMon 02:24, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
"Nobody uses pot to mean anything but pwk" is false. Simple as that. Backsword 10:54, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
According to... who, exactly? All high-end players use pot to mean pwk. Nobody else uses pot to mean anything. If you have evidence, please feel free to show it, but all I've seen is general bitching - the fact that nobody can name another skill that's referred to as "pot" is just proof of my claim.
If pot had a meaning that was agreed upon, why the hell wasn't there already a redirect? If "Nobody uses pot to mean anything but pwk," is so "flase," surely a redirect would have been made to the skill it is referring to? No. No redirect was made, and nobody has suggested a more accurate solution to the page than a simple redirect. Making it a disambig would be misleading because, as I've stated, pot isn't used to refer to ash spells in general. Unless you're aware of people calling other ashes "pot," please stop bitching about a non-issue. -Auron 11:09, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Some people have been refering to the urnlike bundles as "pots" since Factions came out. I doubt you've missed that. Is prestige that important to you? Backsword 11:21, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
What does prestige have to do with documenting the game? People call PwK pot. Like I said on pot's talk page, the skill is very meta - pretty much every ritualist primary and many ritualist secondaries have it. Because of its popularity, it gets a nickname. None of the other ashes are used nearly as often, so it follows they they don't get a nickname.
I've heard ash spells referred to as... ash spells. Sometimes ashes. Never as pot. If it was used since factions, surely someone would have made a redirect by now. If I'd ever heard the term used, I would have. -Auron 11:30, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Pot came into usage because of PwK. It came when rit runners became meta. It refers to PwK. This also comes from the fact that no one ever uses any other bloody Item Spell, except recently PwLM has seen some use. I don't count the channeling ones, they are only used in HA and you drop them on recharge so no one would ever tell you to drop the pot. The reason you would be told to drop the pot with PwK is because you are probably holding it a lot. There are other terms such as double potting as well. Pot = PwK, not any other bloody pot. Misery 11:34, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
So... where was the redirect for Urn? Given that you linked to a picture of a urn. Backsword 11:36, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Common usage overrides common sense to be honest. Pot = PwK, ashes = any other random ashes that no one ever uses. PwLM gets referred to as Li Ming because Li Ming is an assload easier to pronounce than Kaolai, which I still don't fucking know how to say. Misery 11:42, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Nobody calls PwK "urn." They call it "pot." Why would I have made a redirect from urn? -Auron 13:24, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
I'd probably pronounce it cow-lie. Just what i think in my mind. --JonTheMon 13:34, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
I still call it koala. -Auron 14:19, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

o.O Seriously. Auron used the term, I asked him to create a redirect. If you have a problem with it, bring it up on the related talk page, don't make it into a personal mission against Auron :/ - anja talk 15:49, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Wonder why you still play gw?[edit]

Anything to Balance what's bad in gw according to your opinion? --Silverleaf User Silverleaf sig.pngDon't assume, ask! 13:50, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

So much could be done, so little will be done, and as a consequence, ANet will lose a crapload of money. Why hasn't Spoil Victor been fixed in PvP yet? 75.182.89.73 14:12, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Must be something that keeps you here though, something good. Maybe that balances your point of view even though skill balance is a big complaint by a lot of gw-pedians? --Silverleaf User Silverleaf sig.pngDon't assume, ask! 14:31, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
No, Anet won't lose a crapload of money. Even if people leave, most will be back for GW2, and they already have the money for GW1. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 14:33, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Company core business is Box Sales, everything they do for gw1 is "service". --Silverleaf User Silverleaf sig.pngDon't assume, ask! 14:38, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
(EC) I'm not sure the PvP players will be back...But I think GW became far less than what it could have been, PvP-wise. From the beginning PvP had some problems (it was extremely funny watching the outcry when Prophecies was released and Balthazar's Faction didn't exist, so people had to play PvE in order to unlock things), and more and more flaws were added as the new chapters were released. Erasculio 14:40, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
I disagree, wyn - a great number are never coming back. Too many have left for good to say that "most" will come back. I'd say most of the PvPers simply won't. Most of the PvErs I am close to are of a similar mind - Anet has showed nothing but incompetence recently. Bugs have appeared and aren't being addressed, even the urgent ones that are breaking the game as we speak.
Back when Signet of Ghostly Might came out, it was a huge bug, but it only lasted a day. ANet patched it as fast as they coded it, and even though it was ultimately their fault for not testing it before putting it on live, it was obvious that they were watching for problems. This Spoil Victor/Amulet of Protection bug has been on live for longer than a week.
They've proven that they are incapable of adding content to a game without destroying the game's balance. Every single new mechanic has either been nerfed or is still imbalanced. Shadowsteps were nerfed. Popular combos were nerfed, along with their IAS skills. Spirits were nerfed several times. Weapon spells remain imbalanced. Dervishes as a whole are imbalanced, and have not been reworked. Paragon's leadership attribute was imbalanced, and instead of fixing it, ANet nerfed two perfectly good skills. Shouts and chants are still imbalanced, with only 1 counter - a counter only viable in a hex heavy build. The only new "mechanic" they didn't fail majorly on was Cracked Armor, and that's because they didn't include it into the game as much as they could have. They only added it to a few skills and made it only affect a few classes, so it was the only new "mechanic" they've made that was simply impossible to abuse. Is that good balance? Absolutely not! ANet has not given assassins any good options now that the insta-gib combos don't work, and now that shadowstepping is nerfed, why do they leave all those skills in their useless state? Why not rework the skills instead of leaving the class in the dust? That all reflects on ArenaNet's ability to design new mechanics and maintain balance, and their nerfs-without-buffs cat and mouse game they played for months after does nothing to reassure me that they're capable of fixing a mistake once they've made it.
Why do I still play? Firstly, because I'm stupid. I see so many problems with the game and the changes ANet makes, yet I don't ever lose faith. Second, I'm still sort of addicted. I can put it down for a few months, but after beating a few other games and not finding a really solid community for them, I get bored and move on quickly. Lastly, I remain because of friends. I have two close friends that started playing within the last year, and they call or IM me to log on so we can play. Aside from them, I've met a bunch of people that I'd hate to lose contact with - mostly people I've PvPd with that are fun to talk to. Two years of doing Heroes' Ascent has made my friends list quite large, and many of the people on it don't have AIM or MSN - often, Guild Wars is simply an instant messaging client I use to talk to folks :P
I don't play as much as I used to. I used to spend every waking moment outside of school and music playing GW. Now, I've got school, work, and other games to hold my interest - Team Fortress 2 is one of my favorites. All that combined with Guild Wars becoming steadily worse is basically putting a cramp on my desire to play it anymore.
On an unrelated note, I'd like to register my amusement that the PvE crowd thinks ANet's changes are focused on PvP, while the PvP crowd thinks the changes are focused on PvE. ANet can't balance either, so both crowds should stop bitching at each other and start brainstorming for better solutions. -Auron 15:11, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
ANet's changing anything? 75.182.89.73 18:04, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
You need two more paragraphs, one starting with W and one starting with N to make it cool. --Xeeron 19:01, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
i second that proposal. - Y0_ich_halt User Y0 ich halt sig.png 19:04, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
I guess I have a totally different view of the game than so many. Everyone is crying about balance. I don't really care about balance. I want a game that is fun to play, that has a relatively interesting story, that has stuff that will fill my time and challenge me. I have taken every profession through all the campaigns and have not been terribly bothered by this imbalance that people go on and on about. Yes, I do NOT pvp... ever... getting dragged into AB is like having someone shove splinters under my fingernails, so for hard core pvp players, I'm sure these balance issues have some merit. Yes, after over 10,000 play hours in pve, it's getting a bit stale, and like you, I am here for the people. But there are still things in GW that I have a lot of fun doing, DOA being at the top of that list. I do however believe that a great majority of the people who have stopped playing GW will indeed be back for GW2, for the simple fact they want to know if taking most of the developers away from GW has paid off, hoping to be pleasantly surprised. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 19:32, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
For most people, "a game that is fun to play" requires not being instantly rolled in HA or GvG by people with a thousandth your skill coupled with a lack of ability to similarly roll the hardest areas in the game. 75.182.89.73 19:45, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I would agree that in game issues have nothing to do with the wiki. If you can point out where on the wiki Auron has violated policy/abused his position, you could request a reconfirmation. This is NOT an issue that belongs on the noticeboard. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 01:37, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
And, Auron, you would be wise to remember this:
While playing Guild Wars, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players. You will not report players maliciously, or cause them to be investigated without reason.
as per of your agreement to Arenanet and NcSoft which you agree to to allow you to play Guild Wars. Just an FYI. If you can't follow rules in-game, one can't expect you to follow rules (such as those of the wiki). 000.00.00.00 01:48, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Too be honest those screenshots may well be out of context, we don't know what provoked them and either way it is unrelated to the wiki and Auron's conduct here. And anyhow the correct avenue for any complaints is to request a reconfirmation, not to try and stir up trolling on the noticeboard. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 02:00, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Auron has not abused his Sysop privileges, it's more or less as simple as that. There are no grounds for any sort of action, much less de-Sysoption. As far as 000 00 00 00's comment is concerned, even if we act on the premise that Auron's sole intention was to harass NoXiFy and was thus an infringement of the agreement, it's absolutely fallacious to assume that that has any bearing on this wiki. That's essentially the equivalent of saying, "well, you've never committed a felony, but I did see you driving 3 mph over the speed limit, therefore I can't expect you not to commit a felony, so I'm just gonna go ahead and lock you up." User Defiant Elements Sig Image.JPG *Defiant Elements* +talk 02:15, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Shadowfog, you and Noxify exemplify what is wrong with this wiki. --76.25.197.215 02:52, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Sorry but I don't get what are you trying to say. I'm helping him with his in game problem.--ShadowFog 02:53, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Rule-enforced mediocracy. Noxify has not ever said a single correct thing (as far as I've seen), but he's so stubborn and argumentative in being wrong that the only way to make him sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up is to break the rules. That's the mediocracy bit. You're the rule-enforced bit (the mediocre bit too, but that doesn't apply here). You care so fucking much about the rules being followed that you're doing everything you can to make sure Noxify follows the procedure. Honestly, I'd be willing to bet that you have such a hard-on for following the exact letter of the rule that you care even more about this than he does. And by your powers of dogged mediocrity and obsessive rules-whoring, I am a wiki that is ruled by shitheads and rules-lawyers. --76.25.197.215 03:02, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Let's say what you say is true. Does that justify harassing a player?--ShadowFog 03:05, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes. The player is bad, egotistical, and obsessively outspoken, and the harassing is a necessary part of making him shut the fuck up and realize he's bad. It's called "pulling rank". --76.25.197.215 03:08, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
The affected player then has right to report according to NC Soft policies. Link.--ShadowFog 03:15, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Guys, this is getting a bit out of hand. What happened happened. I think its best if we took a breather and discussed how to deal with this calmly. The abusive comments and general trolling happening here is not helping matters. --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 03:06, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

This is going no where. Please leave in-game matters in-game. We would ask the same to keep wiki matters only at the wiki. If you have a problem contact support. They can do much more to solve this problem then we can. 96.53.221.132 03:17, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Is there a reason this section exists? This is the talk page of the admin noticeboard. Admins on this wiki have nothing to do with in-game matters. Notifying sysops here does absolutely nothing except disrupt the wiki.
If he feels I've acted wrongly in-game, he can file a support ticket. It isn't his place to post about it on the wiki. Noxify is a troll, and he has succeeded admirably in trolling people like ShadowFog. His entire goal here was to stir people up - he isn't an active contributor to the wiki, and obviously doesn't know where to post information. The proper response to his trolling would have been moving it to his user talk page (because it is at most a user dispute) and reminding him to file a support ticket.
I guess you can file a support ticket too, but I doubt he's too stupid to figure out how to do so himself. Since it didn't involve anyone else, other people filing support tickets seems silly and redundant - if it has nothing to do with you (and especially if you have no idea what's going on), stay out of it. If you're reporting me out of spite, remember that constitutes harassment, and you're guilty of the same thing you're reporting me for. Don't be hypocrites. But mostly, don't get trolled so hard. You can't take anything on the internet this seriously. -Auron 03:54, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

At this time I would like to say that I know Auron in real life. He hates me and constantly sucker punches me whenever he's within arms reach. He regularly steals beer from the local supermarket and then throws the empty bottles at me and my friends when we walk past. His language is yet even more abusive than his physical violence and on numerous occaisons has threatened to kill my pets and "stab my mother with a sharpened screwdriver". I know he hasn't done anything on here to abuse his power or violate policies, but seeing as he behaves badly in other places, I think it's essential that he be punished and ostrichsized here rather than me going to the proper authorities like I should. Also, if you could please ask him to stop trying to set my porch on fire, I'd be much appreciative. Thanks! Mr J 12:57, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Perhaps instead of demonstrating your intelligence by citing which college you were accepted into you could demonstrate your intelligence by not having a pointless debate about how Auron is treating you in game, which is completely unrelated to this wiki, on this wiki. Misery 12:50, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Governor Spitzer hired $1000 prostitutes. That's unrelated to the Governors job, is it not? He still would've been kicked from office had he not resigned several days earlier. Auron, called me a "nigger" and more racial slurs in game. If Gaile Gray called someone a "nigger" in-game (surely she would NEVER do this), she would SURELY be in trouble within Anet as she represents the company. You Auron, are discriminating someone in game, this wiki is for... well, that GAME. Your actions there are IN MY OPINION applicable here.--'ÑöĭƑýtalk 12:59, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, see... the difference here is that Spitzer didn't break the law on GUILD WARS and get punished in REAL LIFE. You can see the difference, can't you? Mr J 13:02, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Noxify have you actually reported the above In Game offence using the support system. If you have, then have they punished Auron somehow?- TheRave User TheRave sig.png (talk) 13:04, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Is hiring a prostitute illegal in said state? Last I heard calling you a nigger wasn't illegal. You take very different vows and take on very different responsibilities when you are a Governor and when you are a sysop on a wiki for a game on the internet. Please, continue to make ridiculous comparisons then complain about people suggesting you are not intelligent. It is highly amusing. Arenanet may or may not have a problem with the way Auron is "representing them", but so far the wiki in general, including other sysops hasn't given a rat's ass what Auron says to you in game and my understanding is that Arenanet more or less decided to leave the running of this site to the community. Misery 13:06, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm confused. I looked at those screenshots. Why does low or no rank immediately equal a terrible player? Seriously?- VanguardUser-VanguardAvatar.PNG 02:00, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

In this case, having low to no rank is a side effect of being a terrible player. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png{{Bacon}} 03:06, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
If you're any good, you get in good teams, and thusly get lots of fame easily. If you're bad, nobody wants you, so you stay a low rank for a long time. There are some baddies who are high ranked, but in general, I'd take a high-ranked pug over a low-ranked one simply because they're better (they've played the bars more often and in a higher level of competition, and they're more familiar with the map types). -Auron 03:24, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Lastly, stop with the personal attacks - I'm honestly surprised you haven't gotten a ban for them already (since I'd have banned you for them by now, and indeed I will if you continue with them). Well, my only problem is that I don't see how it's being used. It is indeed a quote from me, but it is taken out of context and mangled beyond belief. Maybe if you shed some light on how you're intending it to come across I'll understand it better. -Auron 23:52, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
I understand your say on this, I'll remove the quote, my intention was this:I'm not a mod,I will never say to anyone stop making shit up. I'll never attain an authoritative representative position in which I'll use profanity as part of my ideas. You can keep it I think. I was just trying to understand why you were using it.
I'd write a long rant on why I use profanity, but most people who think it's a bad thing to begin with don't ever listen, so meh. I'll just stick with "it's part of the English language and I use it in my everyday speech irl." -Auron 03:35, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

But to counter "Is that what we promote here," user space is not official. Nothing in userspace is "what we promote here." As far as the wiki goes, all that really exists is main space and the ArenaNet portal. You aren't representing anyone whenever you post on a talk page - the wiki isn't at fault if some religious nut somehow stumbles across my talk page, follows the link to another page on the internet, and is offended.
