Anyone tried putting a Voltaic spear on vekk? Either those asurans have telekenesis or they're really heavyweight champions! ...Although all weapons are shrunk slightly when put on Vekk Silavor

Someone in my party got a r12 from the Slaver's Chest after killing Thommis so I assume the drop from any chest in Slavers' Exile. No pic sorry so you'll just have to take my word for it - Element E --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:121.45.220.25 (talk).

- Cool! I really don't care about whether or not it's a white, i just kind of want the skin! I do farm CoF, however, and after about 60 or so runs in HM, one still hasn't dropped. :| Where's my double voltaic spear drop weekend?

Where can i farm them, the gold ones?
- The best place to farm them is probably in Slavers. Also, I have been in more than 100-125 CoF runs, maybe more, and never once has a VS ever dropped in any form. Either I have realy bad luck or it does not drop.
It does drop i got 1 on my 10th run not seen 1 since though, gl on those drops people

- They only drop in areas with Inscriptions, so yes. I don't think it's possible to get a non-inscribable Voltaic Spear short of a glitched one (such as when Deathbane mods used to cause some weapons to not have inscription slots). --

Today was Lucky for Me== So, this is crazy right. I'm dead serious about this, i don't have a screen though (don't know how). I've been doing CoF, Vloxen's, and Slavers all day with a group on HM and there were three Voltaic spear drops from enemies and chests, 1 gold and 2 whites, but it was pretty cool. - no that's not what he meant, I think he meant why couldn't it be come kind of lance type weapon? As in a spear that one jabs and parries with, rather than a spear that one throws, thus making the weapon fall under a warrior attribute line instead of paragon. As i think he basically likes the skin but doesn't like paragons and wants to be able to use it on his warrior using the warriors unique attributes -- Salome

- Were you logged in for several hours? Sometimes animations like the ones on the voltaic spear stop working if you have been logged in for a long time, you just need to restart GW if that happens. Auran 20:41, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

I'm removing the note about Enchanted Spears. I mean - COME ON. I don't care how low the drop rate is. It's CoF ffs. If Enchanted Spears dropped them, there WOULD be a screenie by now. Being able to Assume Good Faith and all is a nice thing, but you have to live in the real world.
CoF is run in teams of 8. Sometimes a hero will make it 7. So, as a rough guide, think of the amount of times that Enchanted Spears have not dropped one, each time, 7.5 people (on average) had the opportunity to take a screenie. Please don't add the note back in without a screenie on the TalkPage. --> A F K When Needed 19:56, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

It's not uncommon to see people (guildies, alliance members, etc) trying to buy Voltaic Spears for their casters, but still insist on it being a requirement 9 one. I mean, what's the point, if they don't even plan to transfer it to a character that effecively uses Spear Mastery? As far as I know, req9 or req13, one will still gain the typical +5 Energy and 20% Enchantment mods from it, no? Is it people just trying to get items 'as perfect as possible' or does it make any difference I am missing?--Sensei 13:46, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- As far as I'm aware, req makes no difference on a caster... except for resale value if they ever want to get rid of it :P (or use it on another character as you said). -- Chrono (talk)

- Usually, people just want a "perfect" item. Sometimes, though, people are stupid and think they need a req 9 to be better. Example: One time, I had a perfect 15^50 r9 mursaat hammer, which somebody wanted to buy, and when I put it up in trade, he said "lol its purple" and canceled the trade, even though there is no difference between gold and purple items. ~Shard

[edit] Possible Graphic Glitch
I use a Caster VS spear on my mesmer sometimes, and notice it isn't held correctly; the staff of the spear (or however you wish to phrase it) goes through her thumb, not through the little curve to fit into her hand nicely like her staff does. After a little testing, it sppears to happen on all casters with the VS only (other spears don't have this problem).Moonstruck Muse 05:32, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
