Devourer

Devourers are massive scorpion-like beasts with two tails. They thrive in the more arid lands such as the higher elevated portions of the Maguuma Jungle, the Crystal Desert, and Ascalon (especially after the Searing); they can also be found, to a far lesser extent, in the Charr Homelands. Those in the Charr Homelands can grow very large and are occasionally used as siege weaponry, or intimidation, by the Charr.

Devourers tend to burrow underground and in numbers which gives them a tactical advantage as they will be unseen until their prey is close. They tend to use large caves as nests.

Ascalonians are known to hunt Devourer Eggs for food and their Poisonous Stingers for medicinal research. While most are vicious and attack anything, they can be tamed when raised from an egg, such as Joe, and some Charr Rangers use them as pets.
