Annihilator 4: Salvation of Ebonhawke is an April Fools' Day quest asking you to save Gwen IN THE FUTURE from a time-traveling Annihilator golem.
Plot summary[edit]
Gwen leads a Ebon Vanguard attack on a Charr base. Gwen discovers human prisoners and schematics for a new type of Annihilator Golem incorporating living tissue, but she is the only apparent survivor of the attack after the base is destroyed in a magical explosion. However, the <--insert--> later emerges from the wreckage of the base and proceeds on foot to Ebonhawke.
Gwen returns to Ebon Vanguard headquarters and tells <--insert-->, of her discovery. Meanwhile, the Ebon Vanguard has discovered <--insert--> believed to be capable of sending an order to shut down Golem machines. They plan to launch an offensive against the <--insert--> base in <--insert--> in four days, in response to an intercepted "kill list" indicating that <--insert--> plans to kill the Ebon Vanguard's command staff. Gwen learns that her own name is second on the list, following a civilian named <--insert-->. The Ebon Vanguard leaders are unaware of Bane's importance, but Gwen knows that it is because <--insert--> will later become her father (as depicted in The Terminator). (How <--insert--> knows of <--insert--> importance is never explained.) Gwen meets with her husband Thackeray, and transmits a <--insert--> to Ebon Vanguard members and surviving civilians around Tyria.
Arriving in the ruins of <--insert-->, <--insert--> is saved from a G-600 Annihilator Golem by Corporal Bane and his <--player character--> companion. Bane informs <--insert--> about the war between humans and charr. Hearing Gwen's <--insert-->, the three leave <--insert--> in search of the Ebon Vanguard. They survive an attack, but they and several other humans are taken prisoner.
Two A.R.E.N.A. KT29-Moahawk aircrafts are shot down when they try to intercept the machine transport and its escorts. <--insert--> locates downed pilot <--insert--> and they make their way to Gwen's base, but <--insert--> is wounded by a magnetic land mine. Attempting to save his life, the Ebon Vanguard fighters discover that he is a Golem, with a mechanical endoskeleton, circuitry, and a partially artificial cerebral cortex. <--insert--> believes himself to be human, but Gwen thinks that <--insert--> has been sent to kill her, as with previous Annihilator Golems sent by the Charr, and orders his destruction. However, <--insert--> helps <--insert--> escape from the base. During the pursuit, <--insert--> saves Gwen's life from Skynet hydrobots, and the two make a bargain: <--insert--> will enter <--insert--> headquarters and attempt to help Gwen rescue <--insert--> and the other prisoners.
Gwen delays the Ebon Vanguards' attack and they await her signal. <--insert--> enters the Charr-controlled Asuran time-gate, interfaces with the Charr-controlled G.O.L.E.M. site, and disables the perimeter defenses so that Gwen can infiltrate the cell block and release the human prisoners. <--insert--> discovers that he was created by <--insert--> in order to lure Gwen to the base; when the Ebon Vanguard launches its attack, Gwen will be killed, achieving the goal that <--insert--> had failed to accomplish so many times. The <--insert--> that the Ebon Vanguard's plan depends on is a ruse, and <--insert--> uses the signal to track down and destroy the Ebon Vanguard leaders.
<--insert--> tears out the hardware linking him to <--insert--> and assists Gwen in battling a new G-800 model 101 Annihilator Golem. Gwen is mortally wounded during the fight, but succeeds in destroying the <--insert--> base by rigging several magical micro golems fuel cells to explode, detonating them as she, <--insert-->, Corporal Bane, and <--player character--> are airlifted out. Thackeray attempts to save Gwen's life, but her life-force is beyond Dwayna's healing magic. <--insert--> offers his own life-force, sacrificing himself to resurrect Gwen. Recovering, Gwens' speech informs the Ebon Vanguard survivors that though this battle has been won, the war with the Charr is far from over. [edit]
