New members are ranked as Minor Arcana, in the Swords, Cups, Coins or Wands suit. Minor Arcana can undergo a test or contest provided by a Major Arcana once certain criteria are met. Victory in said test grants the Minor Arcana a place amongst the Major Arcana. Major Arcana status holds its own benefits. The Guild Wars branch focuses on neither PvE or PvP, and encourages freedom in play style. Of course, guild mates should always offer to do quests, missions, farm and anything else with others if available. The Arcana is more than a guild; it is a society. Recruitment The Arcana prides itself upon being a haven for the non-mainstream players in all the games in which it exists. If you feel you just don't fit into the hustle and bustle of a PvP/GvG guild, if other PvX guilds are just so large you can't hear yourself think, or if you just think Tarot Cards are cool, maybe [ARC] is for you. We are always actively recruiting, so just contact one of the names below in-game, and if someone is on, we'll send you an invite. Upon joining, you must also register at our forums, and then take a brief, noninvasive questionnaire to determine which of the four aforementioned suits you belong in. Policies Member Communication Steam In addition to the soon-to-be-forums, Arcana members use Steam, a client developed by the game development corporation Valve, to stay in touch. Besides being a content delivery system for Valve's and other developers' software, it features a community nexus as well as its own instant messenger. This client can be applied to many recent games so that one can use the instant messenger and community in-game without having to minimize the game. Members using Steam should have [ARC] prefixed to their displayed name. Ranking Advancement Members are ranked by time in the guild and activity/faithfulness. As both increase, members will move up through their suit's ranks. Minor Arcana ranks run from Two to Ten, followed by Page, Knight, Queen, King then Ace with Ace being the highest. Queen and King are not gender specific. Ranks are only displayed in the forums as many games do not have the capability to display them. Ascension Members of the Page rank or higher may challenge Major Arcana to a contest during certain periods (undetermined as of yet). Aces trump Kings, Kings Queens and so on and so forth in challenge ordering. The Major Arcana sets the parameters for the challenge in some event or game that both contenders have equal access too. If victorious, the Minor Arcana becomes a Major Arcana of his/her choosing.
