Can you make sure that the mission navigation is above the region navigation in future articles. Also, if a subheading is empty it should be omitted, not left blank. - BeXoR 19:57, 11 March 2007 (EDT)

Helping[edit]

Hey, if you don't mind I'm going to start on Prophecies mission maps as soon as i can. Mat Cauthorn 07:26, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Oh, and what font do you use for in-map text? Mat Cauthorn 12:08, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
Hi. I'm happy for the help - you don't really need to ask. :) I'm not at home to check the font but I'm sure that any standard looking sans-serif is fine (I use a black outline to make the text stand out a bit more). Just keep it simple and you'll do just great! --Aspectacle 18:58, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
I'll help on this one as well, if nobody minds. I was going to start doing stuff for the factions campaign, lemme know if you guys need help anywhere else. Avatarian86 09:57, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

Unless anyone else is working on them, i'll offer to start/continue work on the Borlis Pass/Frost Gate pages. Jherann 17:45, 5 April 2007 (EDT)

For missions marked as 'Needs Cleanup,' what exactly is needed? Just general formatting and consistency checks, or something more precise? I'm guessing it's case-by-case? I'm trying to contribute as much as I can with Prophecies missions as I go along. Thulsey 05:55, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Mapping[edit]

Hello. I just get faction since one week, and I'm the happy-owner of the official Faction guide (french version, but maps are libelled in english). Accordingly to the policy, can you confirm me that it is legal to scan missions map to provide the wiki? Those image are NCsoft and ArenaNet copyrighted, but does the Official Guide fall into this restriction ?? : Never use scanned images from magazine articles about Guild Wars or any image that another web page has been granted exclusive access to. (from Guild Wars Wiki:Image use) -- M'vy | user | talk | -- 10:14, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure, to be honest. Even though those guides have the tag "official", they weren't made by ANet, but by Prima, so the copyright of those actual works may still be completely theirs. I'd check with Emily Diehl if I were you, as it's not something that we as a wiki can confidently comment on; you need to get the answer directly from an ANet person. --Dirigible 12:15, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

...as far as the Prima content goes, unfortunately we cannot allow that to be uploaded here due to copyright issues. Even though it technically is our content, it's still their book..."
There's your answer, I'm afraid. --Santax (talk · contribs) 14:57, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Too bad... Thanks a lot, I report your answer to the related topic talk. -- M'vy | user | talk | -- 15:42, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Dialog needed for unstubb?[edit]

I put it down as stuff to be done for now, however I feel that mission articles are complete enough to be unstubbed without the dialog. Map, walkthrough, NPCs are needed, but the dialog is only the icing on the cake, nothing essential. --Xeeron 10:20, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Hard Mode[edit]

I see a lot of misions which are striked thru but which don't have the hard mode monsters and suchs in them. Should we add another tag to the ones existing to keep track or the hard mode information is present? If not might it be a good idea to add another project to check things like that? - Damadmoo 00:47, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

How about H=missing hard mode info --Xeeron 09:58, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah that was what i was thinking about. Maybe i will have some time later on to work on this project but i can't promiss anything yet. Don't have so much spare time at the moment. - 212.123.182.97 19:40, 25 July 2007 (UTC) - Apparently i wasn't logged in when i wrote that message xD - Damadmoo 18:06, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Is anyone even updating this page?[edit]

Really, it seems to be quite out of date with the mission page, and has been that way for quite a while. Fort Ranik, for example, says that it needs the dialog. Yet Fort Ranik has had the full dialog for about a month now.

I'm not sure what the deal is with project pages. Do you guys mind me going through and updating a bit of it? Marin Alacet 21:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

This project seems halfdead, but that's no reason for us to ignore it. It'd be great if you'd revive it. Signs of activity from one person can oft inspire others to follow suit. Backsword 21:55, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
In that case, it won't take all that long to at least get this project's lists up to date. The only thing remaining before I quickly update it is whether I should add a Hard Mode tag. It gained approval up above, and I personally think it's a wonderful idea. It'd take me all of 5 minutes extra, if someone would like me to do it now. Marin Alacet 22:00, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Alright, the list is up to date. I did not add anything about Hard Mode, as there are only 2 missions out of all the ones listed that actually have the Hard Mode information there. Perhaps that can be a seperate, or even sub, project? For now, I'm going to work on getting all the dialog in. Marin Alacet 22:25, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
I am VERY late to the party, but perhaps this can still apply for getting the new stuff up to par? ~Farlo Talk 20:07, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Assemble new crew[edit]

For the past days I was unawared of this project but indirectly participating on it as in small or big size editions like: The Great Northern Wall, Fort Ranik, Nolani Academy, The Frost Gate, D'Alessio Seaboard and Divinity Coast. I have encountered different inconveniences like:

  • Poor skill recommendation lists (incomplete or made by unexperienced players).
  • Repeated descriptions and notes.
  • Ubber extended walkthroughs with lengths that appear a whole campaign guide rather one single mission.
  • Missing details and also irrelevant descriptions.

Should the editors list here be refresh with still active wiki contributors? Do I have to add myself there? The missions that have a strike through shall be "un"-striked again for new revisions? Where does all this stand now? User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji talk 16:02, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

I'm only on that list because I went through and checked stuff off, I didn't really help for the actual project, and the other guys haven't been active in a while. If you want to add yourself and help out, go for it, but you don't have to. Don't remove their names since they once were part of it, it should be their choice; if anything, just put an "(Inactive)" tag behind them. This project pretty much died after EotN came out and all the missions had their pages, but by all means revamp the list if they can be improved. ~FarloUser Farlo Triad.pngTalk 17:51, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Bonus Mission Pack[edit]

Contributors wanted! I am and will probably be the last and only active member in this Project while beta testings invitations for GW2 are already taking place. I haven't bought the extention so will not be able to do anything about those mission. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji talk 15:20, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

I have the BMP, I will be happy to lend a hand.MystiLefemEle 08:04, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

for future contributors[edit]

Pages have bloated with non-monitored lazy edits. Most writtings were included in the Notes sections as users were lame and didn't bother to re-arrange and re-phrase the additions in their respective sections instead. Other mistakes had resulted in walkthroughs having mixed information of Hard mode tips as well as Skill recommendations all together.

Common mistakes made by myself were:

  • Composition: Failed to properly separate different aspects:
    • Orientation,
    • Description,
    • Difficulties and
    • Strategies/Suggestions.

(should be in that sequence).

  • Over-linking: If we are going to link to other pages, do it once only and as early as possible.
  • Alternative routes: Missions can be done in different ways but alternatives are valuable only when the goal can be compromised.
  • Thumb images: Do not add images that are already hosted in other pages. If incorporating a new image to a page, only do to support text with screenshots that help to understand what it is being said.
  • Ingrish :P
Good heads up.. as for "bloat", those BMP's may need a wee bloat for the quick n dirty to complete the discoveries. MystiLefemEle 11:12, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
