Unique Axe

I've seen this green axe with some people but I don't know the name or where I can find it, I already looked in the list of Unique Axes but it's not there. Changed characters and clothes?

I just reinstalled GW after a year hiatus and when I logged in, I discovered that my characters were wearing different outfits and had different features/hair. I'm a bit miffed about it and wondering what's up? Why the change? 90.240.201.12 12:41, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, your characters will look messed up until you log into each of them. It's harmless in the long run. Oh, and you might want to run the game with -image if it's been a while so you can pick up files for areas you don't go to often and stuff. Campaigns

Hello,

The Game Store confirms that I have Guild Wars Trilogy (includes Factions). Yet I can't get to Cantha.

I have tried both via Firstwatch Sergio in LA & via Funwa Sheto in Kamadan ... and with multiple characters (Prophesies and Nightfall).

While the Game Store says I have all the others, it doesn't say that I have Factions ... but then I thought that's what Trilogy did?

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Do you have any empty character slots? If you do, try creating a factions character. If that doesn't work, I would suggest contacting Guild Wars support with your access keys and have them figure out the problem. -- Wyn 03:35, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Getting into an alliance with an asian named guild

Ive recently acquired a guild with an asian name, but am finding it difficult to get into an alliance (im not asian so i cant type the symbols). How do i get around this??

If you go to your F10 menu and find the link for your guild, it will open up either your guild page, or a page that would allow you to create a guild page on the wiki. You should be able to copy/paste your guild name from that and then just paste it into whichever field. -- Wyn 20:12, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Using the EOTN Story Books...

Can you turn a EOTN book in before filling all the pages? If so, will you be able to get another? I want to get some points towards a title track for something i'm doing and i'm sure this would be the fastest way but i dont want to turn it in early if i cant get the rest of the points later, etc...i'm pretty sure i could it just doesn't say definitively anywhere i looked and i'm being understandably cautious :) thanks! --68.39.138.186 17:58, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

See Hero's Handbook. You can get as many handbooks as you wish in normal mode until you reach rank 8 in all of the reputation titles, however, you get considerably fewer rewards for turning them in before completing them. -- Wyn 18:00, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

This is helpful but i guess what i need to know for sure is, can i turn in books multiple times to the same storytellers, etc? in other words, lets say i have only 2 quests left to finish in a book and turn it in. later, i complete those two quests, can i go back with this book to get the reward for the full book from the same person? or does each teller only accept a book once?

If you read that page, you will see that you need a minimum of 8 pages completed to turn it in. No, you don't get the "remaining points" if you go back to turn them in later, you have to start a new book. You can turn multiple books into the same storyteller, until you reach rank 8 of that particular title, then you have to do it in HM. Just read the page, all that information is available. The points are awarded based on pages completed, not specific quests. -- Wyn 18:19, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Name Labels

Is there a way of turning off name labels in game? I'm planning an event and having character names show is kinda a problem. I would turn off everything, except I still want to see what people say. From my knowledge, you can't. You can use Ctrl + Shift + H to hide the whole interface for as long as you like, and Shift + PrintScrn to take a screenshot without the interface. That's about it. — Poki#3 (talk) 10:36, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

BATTLE CRY!!!!!!!

If you have a battle cry, (not the spell), is it possible to designate 1 key to make your person say it in local chat? If so, how??? I need to know cause im a xena fan and its hard to battle and type in "HYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYEA!!!!!!" all the time. Ive already tried using the up arrow and it still takes too much time, i always die and my charector cant be xena without that cry just because shes named Xena. Shadow Shield-Fisure of Woe

I've just got a shadow shield drop from the fish'. it's a req 9 strength goldy. I tried to put a +30 shield handle on it but it won't allow modding. Are some fissure/drops in general at this req not modifyable.

unless it is from the chest at the end it is not inscribable. Shields are also special in that their mod ability was added at the same time as inscrips, so you can't add shield handles to non inscribable shields. --Lemming 13:54, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

finding koris deeprunners map pieces

So i've found three of the map pieces for Koris Deeprunner but i can't seem to locate the last piece, the bottom right hand piece of it. If you have a perma sin who can farm Spectral Vaettir in jaga moraine, map piece drops are fairly easy to get there. If not, you can usually buy the piece(s) you need from other players in Umbral Grotto for ~500g. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 19:02, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

how do i use a buddy key

Monks Defense

I have 20 level Monk/Mesmer that I have taken throught NF and half way through EOTN. I would like to know if I end being the only character left should I have a defensive skill using Monk smiting or a mesmer skill? So far I have only gone through the game using healing skills and divine skills. Should my character be able to fight if I am the only one left and still be able to heal party?74.229.228.95 19:44, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

If you're the only one left alive frequently, wouldn't you be wanting Rebirth or something good for wipe recovery? Or do you mean, you're left alive until the end and then all the monsters eat you? :) If that's the case, you might want to look into some assassin or ranger running skills instead -- even a dedicated (non-gimmick) damage dealer is extremely hard pressed to do anything useful to a throng of mobs standing right next to all those dead people that need to get better. --Star Weaver 19:54, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Credit for Missions/Quests while Connection Lost (Computer Asplode)

Heya. The computer Xylia's playing on crashed pretty hard, possibly due to strange laptop heat issues, when we were about 95% done with a mission for book progress and zaishen coins. It says she's lost connection with the server but she's still got a red health bar in the party window. Can anyone confirm if she would receive credit for the book and zaishen quest if I completed the mission in this state?

Also, the computer might not be fixed for a while. Is there a limit past when you can't reconnect to your session/mission/whatever?

Thanks . . . unfortunatly, I hesitated, she went grey, it didn't count. Fortunatly, computer seems to have unasploded, and we can get the REAL computer re-fixed tomorrow with new parts. Need Help with the skill hunter title

Hey I'm really really close to achieving the Tyrian Skill Hunter title (86/90) But I cannot find the last 4 skills anywhere I've checked the wiki site for the skills i could've missed but can't seem to find them. Can anyone help me? I have notused any elite tomes to achieve them it's purely SoC. I just need some help it's becoming very very frustrating.

Do you have a list of all of the elites, with the ones you have unlocked marked? You might want to check List of elite skills by Prophecies capture location that indicates all the Prophecies elites and where to cap them. -- Wyn 06:01, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

If you think above link is too cluttered (some skills are listed multiple times), try [[List of elite skills by campaign] (yeah, make sure to check both Core and Prophecies).

Check one profession per time. :P

In the Skills and Attributes Panel use the "sorting by" button to enlist Elite skills first.

Mini pet

My character has reached 1st birthday but I have not recieved my mini pet. Why is that?

If your character's inventory is full, you need to make space (remembering that Equipment Packs cannot hold minis or gifts), then log out, then log back in on the character. Your gift should be in the first empty slot in his/her inventory. If you were banned during the birthday, then unfortunately, you will not receive a birthday gift on that character. Also, it might not be your character's birthday on the game's internal clock yet -- give it a few days, and see if you get one soon. Finally, remember that you don't get a minipet for your birthday, you get a Birthday Present, which is just a little blue box with a ribbon. Saving skill templates

Which version of Windows are you using? It may be a permissions issue. If so, you should be able to resolve it by giving yourself write permission for the folder it's trying to create the files in. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 03:00, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Language

Hey, thanks for reading this. Recently when i went onto guild wars i logged in and i see everything other people say in spanish. From my view i can see english when i type, and all of the built in game words r in english...but when other online players talk it comes up in spanish. There are two language settings, one for voice, and one for text. To make sure you're changing the right one, go to the first tab of Options (F11 by default if that helps) and change the top blue-bar-dropdown-thingie to English (It might not be spelled that way, I think it might be the spanish word for english, but it should be fairly figureable.) --Star Weaver 17:42, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Get out of the Spanish district, first. If you're seeing NPC text in Spanish, then hit F11 and change the drop-down selection next to "Idioma de los textos:" to Inglés (English). ··· cedave 03:53:25 CSUTC 26/04/24
