About the identification anomaly[edit]

After analysing the game ‘mechanics’ for quite some time I played so far, I have noticed, that it isn’t the anomaly specific to the backpack, that it can be identified. I think, that the game simply allows most other non-stackable, non-reusable (identification/salvage kits) items to be identified (once). That is: weapons, non-stackable drops (dropped weapons, salvage items), salvaged/extracted upgrade pieces (upgrade components, incl. runes and insignias), but also miniatures, storybooks, summoning stones and backpack itself. The exception so far are scrolls. It’s also true for /bonus items from GW 1st Year Bonus imp and items and festival hat obtained from the Canthan New Year 2009 festival event (I didn’t tried identifying the hat I got from the Festival Hat Keeper.
The above I’m sure, but I haven’t made a deep tests though, so I'm unsure about the things bought & crafted from NPC-s (merchant and economy-dependant sellers), including containers and Rune of Holding, tomes and player armors. However, when trying to identify the hero armor, I didn’t get neither a message nor my identification kit use was consumed.
If no one will disagree, I’ll change the identification anomaly into a property for a backpack. —Faalagorn/ 19:51, 29 May 2009 (UTC).

Aside, but, wouldn't scrolls being stackable mean they aren't included in the list of things you're consdiering there? --Star Weaver 20:07, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Oh, sorry :). Then one exception less :P. —Faalagorn/ 01:15, 30 May 2009 (UTC).
:) Btw you can just use <strike> or <s> for that... --Star Weaver 02:38, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
I really don't like it. It was depreciated as of XHTML 1.0 Strict. Same with center tag and so on. —Faalagorn/ 20:26, 30 May 2009 (UTC).
Hm. These pages are coded in XHTML Transitional. Of course, I'm coded in HTML 4 Strict. (I've been unimpressed with XHTML ever since they decided that adding "/" to every standalone tag was somehow good or useful, among other things.) Anyway, Oooof topic. Sorries :) --Star Weaver 22:06, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Un-dyeing[edit]

Can dyed Backpacks be cleared of dye? If so, how? Jeree95 14:40, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

It's not possible to "un-dye" any items. The closest you can get is to dye your item a similar colour to the original -- in the case of the backpack, brown. --Wormwood 21:34, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
