Bug?

I have a gold eternal shield with an inherent physical dmg -3 while hexed mod (gotta be specific, don't know if thats the problem). for some reason, I can't attach a shield handle to it. is this intentional, or am I doing something wrong? Wandering Traveler 16:46, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Inscription

Article says that only in DoA can they be obtained with an inscription, but I got a shield with an Eternal Shield of Fortitude with luck of the draw inscription (-5 19%), is this something that was changed and just not updated?

Inscribable/moddable

Since factions/prophecies wont drop upgradeable weapons, wouldn't it be best to always enter uw from Chantry of Secrets in nightfall? Or am i misunderstanding this? |NalanaDarkling| 21:14, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

They could have updated drops when they allowed upgradeable weapons in Nightfall. I think you could be right though, as people that i know do prefer the Chantry to enter. --Burning Freebies 21:22, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Lucky Break

Someone sold me one of these for 500 gold. I don't know who he was and I don't know where he got it from - I had never seen him before and I didn't make a note of his name. All I know is that my warrior had just arrived in post-Searing Ascalon and was standing by the Xunlai box sorting out her equipment when this character walked up and asked me whether I wanted to buy a shield, a magnificent shield for a warrior. I said 'show me' and he did, and I liked how it looked and I had been looking for an Armour 16 shield with a Strength 9 req, so I said 'how much', and he said '500' and so the deal was done. It was only when I looked it up that I realised that it is an exotic item, worth far more than he sold it to me for. Just shows that you sometimes can get nice items in strange ways. Getting a white, clean (no mods) req 8 or 9 armor 16 eternal shield is very common during Underworld farming - most people sell them to merchant or salvage them for materials - others give them away for free to rookies, people who have a lot of free time on their hands sell them for around 1k each. its neither rare nor valuable, unless it has an inscription slot or two good max mods on it. So just what, exactly, makes a shield rare?

just picked up a blue inscribable otherwise exactly like "Lucky Break", above, off of the floor in the Gate of Pain. A gold celestial i picked up a few weeks ago rerunning closer to the stars has a much higher Q. I see Q12 celestials in spamadan going for as much as 60k. this skin is just as interesting, maybe more so. because its from the gate its fully moddable. both are Q strength and both are considered PvP exotic. the blue Eternal has a merch val around 50 the gold celestial around 230, but its MUCH easier to meet a Q of 9 v-a-v 12, so the Eternal should be worth more, shouldn't it? In-game prices are pretty weird. For the most part, it's a "prestige" factor, so no matter what the requirement a skin that is deemed valuable by the community (rare, elite areas only, etc.) is often worth a lot more. ~FarloTalk 23:35, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
