how to[edit]

new how to video up of my Xfire http://www.xfire.com/video/179cd1/ Blaze13 20:30, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

Thanks again :D 80.60.80.108 20:41, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

np but it's not so easy to make "how to" for this quest seeing as not all ppl are dervs ;) but all in all it's not too bad of a quest just have some Blinding/blocking skills. Blaze13 21:02, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Another excellent video walkthrough! I have to say my favorite part was 6:51. The drunk emote was very funny. You drunken brawler! :D SardaukarUser Sardaukar sig.png 12:39, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
hehe ty :) Blaze13 21:41, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

The quest is...[edit]

REPEATABLE!!!! Just switch districts or zone, then try again. Easy money and tot bags, and much faster than farming monsters. Plus, with a 2k reward, it pays for itself! I love Anet!!! 173.3.47.253 21:04, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

Survivor hax as well? Only have to do it 133.7 times though... ~Celestia 00:42, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

FAST REPEAT and farming[edit]

go to LA, get quest, abandon it immediately. stones to cap skeletons stay in your inv... get quest, abandon and so on - get as many stones you want... then go to ToA, enter UW in NM (to speed up killing)... kill as many skeletons as u can, rinse, repeat, capture all stones... get back LA, give back quest, change district, get reward, change disctrict.... omg 600 TOTs!!!!!MistralPL 02:17, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

You don't even have to abandon the quest to get more Mobstoppers, see the last note in Everlasting Mobstopper, which would make getting them even faster. --Silver Edge 02:35, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Nevermind, the "abandoning the quest" method is faster. --Silver Edge 02:41, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Well I know what I'm doing this weekend. It's nice to know I don't need to put 10 characters through Don't Fear the Reapers now (maybe). Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә User Aliceandsven 1.png ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 03:01, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Can't you only kill 1 Skeleton per trip? Doesn't that effect after prevent you from using a mobstopper again?--68.115.108.135 04:59, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Um...it's timed. You can get around 50 per run. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 04:59, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
how long is a run? Blaze13 05:08, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Indeed, fast repeat and farming - for those who actually manage to get through to this quest. Getting people in a festive spirit? Hardly. "Don't fear the Reapers" is at least beating me - probably due to a combination of rubberbanding and unfamiliarity with the underworld. Maybe I'm just a bad player, but then, I've always hated Pacman games... (Just to comfort myself I am attributing part of it to lag - given that people were complaining about Mad King Says being too slow, while I occasionally have 1 second to type the emote and died while the box saying '... says JUMP' was still on my screen and my character on my screen at least had already started jumping...) Well, at least Anet has reduced the gold reward, probably realising that this quest was [and still is] the perfect way to induce a split in GW society which they have been trying so hard to prevent by banning gold sellers. In addition it induces more splits: hey, you have not been online the second when quest 3 came out? Sorry, we are busy farming quest 4 now and will be for the rest of the weekend. Or you cannot even get through to quest 3 because Pacman killed you... The part that bothers me most, though, is that I miss a sideline story. I usually enjoy the holiday lore and reading the summary on wiki is just not the same...--Iant 09:36, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

lol quest 3 and 4 work with each other, the only difference is that for quest 4 you need 3 not one--Thedreadlordpie 14:03, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

I sure hope there's a conclusion to this chain.[edit]

It's doubtable since the most recent one is repeatable. I hope there's an end to this though, otherwise this whole thing just ends with another farm. >.> --adrin User Adrin mysig.jpg 10:20, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

And the storyline would be left uncomplete :P - J.P.User J.P. Halloween sig.pngTalk 20:44, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Risk-free legendary survivor[edit]

Step one; run a new char to ToA and LA. Step 2: Do Halloween quests 1 and 2 (dying apparently does not stop survivor track) Step 3: Have another character gather up some 400 filled mobstoppers. Step 4: Let survivor hand them in for 10k exp each. Of course, this would take about 20 hours or so, but completely doable during a weekend. --Lensor (talk) 10:54, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

May i just add a note here, if you are doing this make sure that you get the reword on your survivor every so offten as the quest may change later on today.--Thedreadlordpie 14:06, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Also, remember that the Captured Skeletons cannot be traded, and thus must be collected on the account the survivor will be on. I collected 67 of them for a friend before I realized I couldn't give them to her. Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 17:31, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for posting this guys. If I get 3 more 20skele runs, my para will have r3 Survivor. Soooo easy. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 20:06, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

I think I'm gonna say something really stupid now but, can you actually collect 400 captured skele's on one char (inv space-wise)? Kraal FardaleUser Kraal Sig.png 20:38, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

Yes, both the empty and filled gtobstoppers [sic] stack, so you only need two slots for 400 skels. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:55, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
BTW, you don't even need to do this over Halloween - just collect two stacks of Gobstoppers (via doing up to Every Bit Helps then placing each three in storage) and use them over the coarse of the year. This is for those not in a rush and who hate farming though, so they can spread out the pain. Konig/talk 21:02, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

Level up heroes[edit]

Just to remind, if you still have some low level heroes, who you dont play with (just cause they are low...), geting reward for this quest is good moment to level them. Just select them on heroes list - and get reward... they get xp too, and get the levels fast. And if you farm this quest and get more rewards.... well, my poor Sousuke got 11-20 levels after 2 years at last... in 5 minutes :).

Nice reminder! Though I think hero levelling can be pretty painless these days (I usually just use Z-quests rewards)--Iant 11:57, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
It must take you a long time leveling your heroes, as heroes do not benefit from the Zaishen Challenge Quest experience rewards =P. See Zaishen Challenge Quest#Notes. --Silver Edge 04:16, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
They don't receive experience from these quests either, at least for the first two. 24.197.253.243 05:00, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Huh, they do get experience from this one, tho. 24.197.253.243 07:43, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

anomaly[edit]

you still can get the quest from mkt's steward but there are no skeletons in the underworld anymore. Drk 09:19, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

It seems they are removed becuase its supposed to be the end of the halloween event. Still i wanted to do this quest, so now i can't follow this mini storyline... 91.189.226.20 10:14, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

bug?[edit]

I killed 3 skeletons, clicked to capture. Only one is captured, other two can't be captured anymore. In the beginning of underworld at the top of the stairs to the right. Is this a bug, anomaly or is it intended... Same problem arose when at a second time a friend of mine tried to capture the dead skeletons.Didis 17:17, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

As intended. You can't cap them immediately after one another, you are Weakened by Dhuum. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 17:22, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Tesco's[edit]

Ha ha. --smøni 18:24, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Obscure tesco reference is obscure....(and stupid) -- Salome User salome sig2.png 22:24, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Well, it's not obscure if you were in the UK when it was used. However, the expression, Every Little Bit Helps has been around for a long time, so I doubt that Tesco's slogan had much influence. (Not sure why I adjusted the phrasing rather than deleting the line. Many thanks for whoever made that bold move!)   — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:21, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Hey Tef, I Live in Edinburgh and I shop at Tesco's all the time but just saying that the quest title is not a reference to it. As you said, "every little bit helps" has been around for ever. :) -- Salome User salome sig2.png 11:36, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Loev Cliffhanger[edit]

Now that this chain has been confirmed to be nothing but a farming opportunity over the weekend(200k worth of ToTs in one day?), let's just pray for a moment that anet decides to conclude the plot (BEFORE GW2 PLEASE!). Roll on Halloween 2010[edit]

Quests appear 25th. Some forward-thinking casual UW-farmers and I intend to cash in a year's worth of Captured Skeletons. If this quest doesn't make a comeback I must say we'll be rather disappointed :$. --BlueNovember 19:44, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

There was no forward thinking when the quests weren't meant to return. Only collectors held on to a stack or ten of mobstoppers. 24.197.253.243 20:37, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

We didn't note in the trivia changes in dialogue in any other festival quest (i.e.: The old dialogues are not in the Dragon Festival quest pages). There are pages that include other no longer existing dialogues, but they are always in the dialogue section Why should they stay in this page only, and why in the trivia section, breaking the layout? MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 15:29, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Might I suggest subpages for each quest that could then be linked (either in the dialogue section or the trivia section)? "Every Bit Helps/2009 dialogue" for example. - Tanetris 15:40, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
That's not a bad idea. I'd be down for that. --JonTheMon 16:13, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
Sounds good to me too. --Lania User Lania Elderfire pinkribbon.jpg16:59, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Quest Chain Started Ove[edit]

Nvm read a bit more on the last update. Made people that did this year's quests have to do them again. Thanks anet for making us do more work...Daeheru 00:36, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Work? XDDDD If you think that making a quest is work... Anyways, this is actually good. The quest of the reapers takes 20 minutes, but the first less than one, so by resetting them, they are giving players another 'free' 50 ToT and 15 tonics for a stroll that takes less than 1 minute. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 12:00, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
something weird happened with mine: did the first two quests, they were reset, did them again, then went back after the second and could do the first one again, went back could do the first one AGAIN! Yay! Now it's normal though =(

Inventory to full?[edit]

So I farmed a few stacks of mobstoppers, and when turning them in and my first stack had only 1 mobstopper left, I was not able to recieve the reward. Even though I had another half stack next to it, I kept getting told my inventory was to full. It was not, but I decided to drop all my cash and toss a lot of stuff in my chest just to make even more room. I even changed districts to refresh everything. Still got the same message. I was not able to accept the reward until I compiled the single mobstopper into the half stack next to it. --Moto Saxon 18:33, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

You probably need the first stack to have at least three (first = top/left-most slot). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:43, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
