A story about guildwars.
Once upon a time there was some srsly imba shit called ursan.
After a solid year of abuse anet finally nerfed it.
Then an even lamer skill came along, called Shadow form.
After a year of abuse anet did nothing.
A skill balance every 2 months would have sorted it, yet 6 months with no update.

- I'd give it a month.--Flaming Renegade File:User Flaming Renegade User-Flaming Renegade.jpg 23:54, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
- Wait, you mean that all the enemies couldn't turn into bears too, each with the strength of 20 bears? Hmmm... that does seem srsly imba imo. It seems like perhaps the thing that is keeping some players coming back to guild wars is to see if the nerf has happened or not. Mswheele 00:27, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm not a fan of 'nerfing' anything. Then again, I'm not a socialist. User:Jervoodoo
Nice work[edit]

Actually these last update whas a goood idea, so you decide to reduce the r-spike, dual para and other builds and for example not touch those lammer things like the SA (a Must-nerf build btw...), ok you make a good thing with the blood spamm shit, but it still suck the way chosen...-ragesigned --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 93.156.37.177 (talk).

2 BUGS found
Ancestors Rage still says doing lightning damage, though the skill clearly does armor ignoring damage when tested as promised in the skill buff.
If you recast Soul Twisting before all charges from an earlier cast is used yup, ONLY the duration will reset, no new charges gained.
Cast Soul Twisting. Then use 2 out of 3 charges. Recast Soul Twisting, buff ends after 1 charge more used and not 3 more as expected. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:NeferJackal (talk).

Dwarven Battle Stance[edit]
- → moved from Talk:Game updates
Elite Stance. For 5...10...11 seconds, if you are wielding a hammer, you attack 33% faster, you gain +40 armor, and your attack skills interrupt foes when they hit.
And you updated it up in both PvE and PvP, OP much? What the hell? --217.153.126.66 08:25, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Holy Wrath nerf.... RUINED everything.... now every 600 monk is guna have to become 55 monks and then thats guna get raped too. WHY?!?!?! Chibot2000 12:16, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
- well actualy the 600 can still work but it would be pain inducingly slow...instead of a like 100 somin dmg per hit, the smites hits will do a 100 somin spike at the beggining if u keep holy wrath, and then like 50 after that(depending if you bring dmg buffs)AurenX 15:39, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
Demonic Flesh - Blood Necros Great, Great Loss![edit]

I am totally against the new update and every single update to this game that involves nothing more than a demonstration of power. It would be great if Anet would used this same kind of effort into banning unethical game behaviors, the development of new skills, or even environmental changes, ...but changing skills is plane pathetic, it demonstrate the lack of creativity of a degenerating franshise. Honestly does the use of a certain skill combination for a desire "in game" purpose hurst anyone? nothing was stoping the community from creating a sin, or a 600 monk...but now, everyone is affected; directly or indirectly. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.200.76.35 (talk).

Thank you well for all this wasted time…[edit]
Hello, I am a French player; please excuse me in advance not to suitably express me in your language. I have played Guildwars for 57 months and I really very wanted to say to you what i think of the recent modifications of the skills brought to the play GuildWars. While hoping to have translated my remarks as well as possible, I thank you for comprehension and your listening.
I will start with this quotation of Regina Buenaobra who is part of the development team of GuildWars :
“After careful evaluation, we concluded that it wasn’t possible to redeploy the Xunlai Tournament House at the level of quality that our players expect without completely rebuilding it from scratch. To do that, we’d have to take away vital resources from the Guild Wars 2 team. Given the circumstances, we decided it was more important to keep our focus on Guild Wars 2, and permanently retire the Xunlai Tournament House.”
On the other hand, it was decided to so deeply modify skills of GW1 that this play loses of it instantaneously any interest for most of the players.
I still add that these modifications come precisely on a particularly inappropriate date, i.e. at the time of an event which makes it possible in gathering points of faction so long and so hard to gain without than by the method of the duo 600/Smite, what a joke!
I do not understand this strategy of the double talks which consist in saying that it is necessary to focus on the development of GW2, and thus to stop the Xunlai Tournament House, and other hand to say that it is necessary to modify radically competences of play GW1 in order to make it wrongfully captivating or attractive and this to a few months on arrival of GW2…
Imagine that you ask to your salesman to improve your computer, and when you recover it, no more software functions suitably without any possibility of recourse against your salesman… It would be necessary then for you to all start again! Purchases and installations of new software like new adjustments! Thank you well for all this invaluable wasted time!
I invite here in a friendly way our friends of the development of GuildWars or ArenaNet or NC Soft also, to be thought of the following French proverb :
To saw the branch on which i currently sat.
And which wants to say :
To attack with a situation from which one however profits or people from which one however benefits.
Because the players of GW1 are also of potential customers of GW2, and in spite of what you calculated or thought, a great majority of them are very dissatisfied with your recent modifications of skills…
Cordially.
Cordialement. - --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:French Player (talk).
- That's impressive for wiki standards. However, I do not agree with you on some points. They stopped the XTH because they weren't able to fix it with the men power they have at the moment. And, thereby, in my opinion you can't look at the same way to an game functionality and skill balance. Skill balance is essential (that I should ever say that) for a game its lifetime. XTH was an additional functionality in the game, and however some people don't like the fact that it's gone, the game can perfectly run without it.
- That they focus on GW2 is in my opinion common sense. GW2 need to be better then GW1 on many points if you want to get players from GW1 interested but also new players who never played the Guild Wars games. And, however many people say that, they didn't forget GW1, which is proved in the last update (and that will be opposeed by many people too).

TL;DR --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 77.232.15.215 (talk).
- yea im not to sure about the xth, i never used it...but your complaining because the took 600/smite away...so now u have to actually try to get certain titles? are u complaining that they made the game more challenging?...personally i believe it was long overdue, builds like perma and 600/smite just ruin the game because they make everything too easy. yes now the price of stuff is going to radically change but imo its for the better. and also on the gw2 note, im not sure about you but i would much rather have them focus on that so that its not pushed back even farther.AurenX 05:51, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- His point was that they say they're guna focus on GW2, and then rape GW1 with nurfs. Although I agree some builds are imba, the economy is based on how much you can make from grinding, so constantly nurfing skills means that a handful of people exploit a build and make loads of money, then it gets nurfed and the skill is ruined for regular players. This causes massive fluctuasions in the economy.
- I bought a new set of armor, dyed it black, stuck all the runes/insignias on, got all the skills for 600, kitted my heros and used it once before it got nurfed.
- In all honesty if they're going to do stuff like this in GW2 I really can't be bothered to put the hours and effort in to then have it ruined because some little girls are crying about imba skills :/ Chibot2000 22:19, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- I think they are doing exactly what they need to do. Yes I disagree with a large number of the most recent nerf/skill changes, but it was our own faults, that's what everyone is overlooking. Abuse of the resources we had for gluttonous gain has netted our reward. And yes I am glad they are working on GW2 more. Please god work on it! I'm sick of seeing it pushed back again and again. I encourage Anet to continue working at GW2, and to hear our constructive thoughts for skill balances. I am sure if we quit whining like little spoiled children we can get the skills adjusted to a happy medium where they still function well but won't make us all stupid rich with minimal effort. As of yet I have seen very little suggestions with solutions to the problems, and more complaints and whining, and boo-hooing. If these nerfs purge the game of the lazy players that forgot how to truly game, then good. You won't be polluting my GW2. And that is my rant for the day. Feel free to make fools of yourselves and flame me on my talk page Nay the One and Only 09:03, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

- You have played GW for 57 months and think now that it was all wasted time? Then why didn't you quit earlier? Even if the changes now prevent you from having more fun with the game you still had those 57 where you kept playing and probably did have your fun. So you really shouldn't say that this is a bad game or whatever, after all that bad game was able to keep you playing for 57 months.
- Also I don't know one who was disappointed with the update. All the farming nerfs were announced long before and people had enough time to be prepared for it, and in the end most of the players I know, who were spending most of the time doing exactly that what was nerfed now (UWSC etc), are really happy with the update and the new challenges. poke | talk 12:50, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
