Possible Bug[edit]

I've beaten both togo's story and turai's story but durmond wont authorize either of them. Has anyone elde experianced this problem? Is there a way to prevent it?--138.88.63.227 21:51, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Transfer Weapon[edit]

I want to get a Mursaat hammer for my PvP character. Why can't I? Retro77 22:44, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Once you get a book, it is customized for the character that asked for the book. Once you trade in that book for a weapon, that weapon becomes customised for that same character. Seeing as PvP characters can't get into the BMP, they can't get a book and thus can't get a BMP weapon. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ Talk 22:49, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
The BMP was intended to be a pve only feature, at least initially, so they won't let characters which can't do pve access it, which is fair enough in my opinion. Ashes Of Doom 01:20, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Though, why would a PvP character want to get a BMP weapon other than looks? You can create your own customized weapon through the Equipment Panel. An empty PVP Sword is the same as an empty Charr Sword (both require 9 Swordsmanship and both are customized). The only difference is the latter has a different look than the former. JupiterStarWarrior 03:08, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
What, and looks don't matter? I think adding the librarians to some area of the Battle Isles would solve that problem. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 13:38, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Robed Of The Money[edit]

I just found out you can only get the money award once per account per discovery. So basicly i wasted 9.99. Cuz whats the point of doing the missions after you get the money and the wep you need for your char. Apocalypsefu 02:33, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

You still get 500 gold and one inscribed weapon anytime you make it. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 14:46, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
No kidding. Each time you do the Bonus Mission(s) (they are repeatable), the book that was obtained is completed, and you can get it Authorized. Once Authorized, you can trade it to a character for a customized weapon of your choice. Characters just starting out on a campaign (like Nightfall, for example) can get a decent weapon without doing much work (the same can be said if you got the bonus items through presale and whatnot).JupiterStarWarrior 03:13, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
9.99 is not bad for the content of the missions alone, if you play them to finish the discoveries. At worse, it's on par with a movie rental (cost per hour). -- Alaris_sig Alaris 13:39, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Once only?[edit]

According to the page, it says you can only get one authorized book per account. Does that Mean I can only do the mission+ discovery on one character? Period? Or just once spanning on several characters? I'm confused. - VanguardUser-VanguardAvatar.PNG 21:10, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

I forget the details, but basically, you can keep farming the books as much as you like on your different characters, to get any of the items you want. The limit is just for limiting the cash rewards that comes with completing the bonuses. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 21:29, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh, good. I just want a set of specific items, 'tis all.- VanguardUser-VanguardAvatar.PNG 21:31, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
If I remember right, you can do discoveries only once per account. But you can still do the mission as many times as you want to get 1 book per completion. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 21:32, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

I just want this to be made clear, I can do the story as many times as I want and get it authorized as many times as I want and get the weapons as many times as I want all on the same character? --Matt 23:55, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes. The only thing that is received ONCE per account is the bonuses from the 'extras' of each episode. So, find all spots in the Turai story, and you get one extra book, along with the one for just making the mission. Try again, and you only get the one for the mission, because the extra is already done. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 13:35, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Correct. Infinite weapons for all your characters (if you have that kind of patience). -- Alaris_sig Alaris 16:04, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the quick reply, that answers my question. --Matt 17:24, 9 October (UTC)

A Problem[edit]

I wanna buy the BMP but i can't find the Buy button on the Best Buy and Circuit City page in the sites MarioDX 19:21, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

It's bought through the in-game store.-- Gordon Ecker 00:29, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Weapons[edit]

Why isn't there a link on this page to the unique weapons you can acquire by doing these missions? Might be handy. 85.150.208.33 10:49, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Agree it would come in handy, when i looked for the link to the weapons it brought me here :p T1Cybernetic 11:09, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
I also think it would be good to include links to the weapon categories, or the galleries tied to them. The page doesn't even seem to mention the weapons perhaps changing the list of stories to include the type of weapons rewarded upon completing them.Sigil Baram talk 23:04, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Equipped Weapons[edit]

Maybe it should be said, that you can't enter the mission, unless the specific weapons are equipped. But if you start the countdown and change the weapon, then you get killed immediately after the loading-screen. --Fire Ops 21:11, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Ahaa just came across this, was going to report as bug but then again what you class as the actual bug as this is supposed to happen. --Smithy-Star 16:58, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Counted As A Death?[edit]

Wondering whether or not dieing in a one of these missions will count as a death against the Survivor title. 68.55.14.167 01:19, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

You can see when death are counted and when not in the Survivor page. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 12:20, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
What Mith meant: No, they aren't counted. Overrandom 22:15, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
So theoretically you could level a character by doing only BMP missions and get the survivor title completely risk-free? Sounds a little unfair to those who have chosen to opt out of getting the BMP but want to get the survivor title on a character...Weaponmaster 07:41, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
As long as you get experience from playing the BMP. Which you don't. --Arduinna talk 10:16, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
There are plenty of risk-free ways to get survivor if you have the patience. As a ranged attacker for example, there's enough immobile melee-only monsters. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 14:20, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
I know of a few immobile level 20 enemys that dont even attack you, all ya need is a level 10 character and EOTN... (not bad to make a dire pet either if you missed the death level chance) MrPaladin talk 14:26, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Another BMP[edit]

I would love to see another BMP, prince rurik or the king and how they rose through the searing, the story of ascalon's chosen and their fall. Perhaps even an evil side, how the Vizier of Orr caused the catacylsm, what Shiro's life was like upto the point of killing the Emperor. I'd totally buy it because the lore of Guild Wars totally fascinates me! Zyko Wolfven 15:36, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, Shiro's 'life' was kind of laid out in cutscenes so... going through it as a mission, while awesome, would be redundant.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 15:38, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Personally, I'd love to play the part where Shiro goes and kills the emperor, and trying to survive the wrath of the emperor's guards and the Kurzick / Luxon alliance. I really enjoyed the BMP, and I would pay for another one. That being said, I'd rather they put that effort into releasing GW2 sooner. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 15:54, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
We the Live team does not have to put effort on GW2, since they work exclusively in GWO, once they finish the other stuff, I won't mind more BMP or realms of the gods, and play a good cash to unlock such content. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 16:08, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
True in theory, but false in practice. Even for the last update they used people that are not part of the live team. Something as big as a BMP or new elite area would require a lot more outside help. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 16:16, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

For the most part the Shiro mission I think would be a bit easier to do since, there are no new models to create and from what I saw from the cinematic they already had the harvest ceremony created. I would figure it would have to heavily program and designed though. The Vizier with Orr would be a bit harder I think. Since we have yet to see Orr or Arah. This would probably require some new design unless they reused some maps for Orr. It would certainly be interesting though. It could be a timed mission trying to stop the Vizier before he used the spell. Just a thought. I'm sure you would have to design a mission for each campaign. Joko assualting Vabbi maybe and the Heirophant Burntsoul finding the first titan. Dero Ahmonati 18:16, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

I love the idea of another BMP with Shiro, Rurik, maybe Kormir or Varesh, etc. But realistically, I can't see it happening. Considering that the Live Team took quite a while on the newest, so-called "huge" update (that turned out not so "huge") I can't see them getting another BMP done. User Karate Jesus Sig3001.png 18:25, 14 May 2009

Heads up some spoilers in this message. After thinking about it I think its possible to do another BMP if they reuse some of the maps. Shiro could be a timed mission, first killing the emperor and his cohorts and surviving against waves of guards and then a cinematic occuring with Vizu, Viktor and Arch. I think a timed mission for Vizier would be interesting too. I was thinking how could they pull it off without making new content sort of speak. They could reuse some of the Maps for the Shard of Orr. Since the Vizier activated the Scrolls far beneath the city. You could play as Jutu (wandering soul in the quests in the domain of pain) one of the guards that found the forbbiden scrolls in the Viziers quarters and also have the other spirits that you saved during that quest as allies. It could a mission trying to get to the Vizier before he uses the scroll and you could battle your way through the tomb guardians and such and maybe fight Terick ( Razakel from the blueprint of the fall quests) as an end boss. Then the vizier activates the scroll. Just a thought Dero Ahmonati 18:07, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

In-Game Store[edit]

i cant buy it, it gives me the wrong card code... i have the right numbers, it's a maestro card, picked mastercard in the store (maestro is a masterchard right?) and every thing else is correct, any sugestions? --Orgeron 18:04, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Try paypal in the NCSoft site. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 22:52, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Books works as a tradable item?[edit]

"You can take completed books back to Durmand to have the stories authorized. You can then trade in authorized stories to one of the four story scribes (located next to Durmand in each port city) for a customized weapon from the historic period you witnessed during the mission. You will still be able to keep the book in your Xunlai storage even after it has been authorized. You can then trade it between your characters on your account." Yeah, maybe it might only be for your own characters, but does that mean it'll work for pvp characters? --Warnlord 01:07, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

If you ever see a scribe in a PvP outpost, let me know. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 01:24, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Redoable?[edit]

could u redo them... and turn the book in for another weapon--Commander Fat 03:13, 22 February 2010 (UTC)s

Yes. --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 03:23, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

change design?[edit]

new better designs for these weapon would probably entice the community to buy bonus pack.
