West of the Maguuma Jungle?[edit]
I was looking on the world map today, and started to wonder whats west of the maguuma jungle? Does anybody know that? -- C4K3 15:34, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- Possibly a continuation of the mountain range that starts above it. I can't find much info on anything outside of the map, but supposedly the bay with the volcano leads to another ocean surrounding the entire continent, and northeast is just ice as far as any adventurer has traveled. So maybe after whatever's past Maguuma, it drops off into an ocean :P. ~Farlo Talk 18:37, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Hooray for Maguuma[edit]
I love this place, its so far flung and remote, even the capital is usually empty. Makes me happy to see guild wars still has some forgotten wildnerness. Shogun 18:17, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- pfft. I HATE this place. sure it's pretty, but it was too easy to get lost, the maps are hard to make out imo, since bridges, cliffs and all that stuff is difficult to see. I spent 6+hours no exaggeration in here once during the Mox quest, and at the end of it all, my connection was interrupted. The map that was on here didn't really help like I said it's hard to make out sometimes whether your supposed to be on the top crossing bridges or bottom in the valleys... - Hopefully HoD will become an active hub in GW2. Yay for Jungle Trolls! Aro 02:58, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Exploring the Jungle[edit]
I've explored the Maguuna Jungle several times with different characters. Each time it adds 14.3% to my Cartography title. Anybody with different results? Mutakalimun 18:52, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Maguuma "JUNGLE"?[edit]
Most of it looks to me like some... Strange, rocky, dead place place to me... Not much of a jungle. You do have the Tarnished Coast, but is that still part of the Maguuma? I myself think it is becouse of the white mantle and the shining blade have shown up there too. But still the rest of the actual Maguuma Jungle is more of a dead place. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.73.213.140 (talk).
- The Tarnished Coast is the southern portion of the Maguuma Jungle - a sub-region of it. There are arid portions, but there's very much jungle. Doesn't seem much of one without taking in the unexplorable portions and the Tarnished Coast, but you should. Also, sign your comments with 4 tildes (~). -- Konig/talk 23:16, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
- Damn you Konig! :( i've lost my edit because of you :p --The Holy Dragons 23:17, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with the IP. Tarnished coast is more of a tropical forest than a real jungle. And nowhere in the rest of the maguma i get that jungle feeling. I haven't been in the falls yet so i'm holding my hopes for that area. But what i expected from a jungle was lots of plants. so much you can't even see your own feet and all manner of creatures hiding in them. What did i get? Green rock (It doesn't even look like grass and for the record there is no gras in a real rainforest) with bamboo on the side. wich occasionally drops unconvincing weak spiders. Where are the flesheating plants who wait like a hidden trap? Where are the rerrible beasts? everything about the maguma jungle (especially the proph part) feels completly off. Where are all the herbivores? and if the insects eat plants where are the insectivores? I miss the density and the diversity that make up a real jungle Rhonin Soren 19:01, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- It's just part of a game. They can not devote all their resources to a crappy jungle. –~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) ←♥– 19:18, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah but the problem is that the prof maguuma jungle is now crappy and huge. I rather had it the size of the Tarnished coast but not crappy. Ow and I forgot tho mention I want my sexual dismorphism!!! Rhonin Soren 19:25, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ow and proof they can do it => sparkfly swamp, the swampy area actually feels like a tropical swamp/mangrove forest altough it could use more density Rhonin Soren 19:32, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) The Tarnished Coast was made by devs with more advanced tools and more experience with more creature rigs to work with. You can't expect them to be equal. Maybe you should explore the Maguuma a bit more. It's got some really cool places like the rest of Prophecies has. –~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) ←♥– 19:36, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- True and yes muguuma has some cool places ex.: quarrel falls, the end of the aurora glade mission are two of my favorite places and i'm hoping the wilds are cool when i get there for zinn's task. And i agree that with the resources they had the devs did a good job. But that doesn't cancel the fact that it doesn't feel like a jungle to me. for example i see giant roots everywhere coming out of the rocks but nowhere do i see giant trees. I see giant liana hanging between cliffs/rockfaces but they just dissapear inside the rock and arn't atached to anything like they should. The dervs couldn't have changed that when they built the game because of time constraint/resources limited/etc. ... but it just adds to the tings that for me are what makes GW-world sometimes feel unrealistic. And i think the dervs agree with me because they started making GW2. From what i've seen of the grove it's more junge-like than now (and that place is already beautifull in GW1). Look at the shiverpeaks. Everything is snow probably (most likely) due to limited resources but in GW2 it's more tundra/taiga like. Conclusion the dervs did a great job with wat they had but compared to wat it should be it's still not quite there yet but it will be in GW2 Rhonin Soren 19:52, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) "nowhere in the rest of the maguma i get that jungle feeling" The Falls, The Wilds, Tangle Root, Silverwood, and Mamnoon Lagoon don't give a dense jungle look to you? Interesting. I think the real issue is that the main story doesn't have people going through the jungle half of the Maguuma. "nowhere do i see giant trees" Where you see some of the giant roots... look up. -- Konig/talk 20:46, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- No they don't. jungle look? maybe. Dense? Not even close. The bigest tree is on ventari's refuge. It's root's arn't nowhere as big as those you find in maguuma. (It also shows clouds in GW hang like really low). All i can say was when i started GW i looked forward to coming here and it was kinda dissapointing to me Rhonin Soren 13:51, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
Should the place where the Spirits of the Druids & Ancient Druid Spirit commune be a landmark?[edit]
I'm referring to the "ending location" of the Wisdom of the Druids quest. --128.199.104.229 21:06, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
- If it doesn't have a name ingame, then no. Magamdy 23:07, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
