Tangle Root is a large area towards the south of the Maguuma Jungle which borders the concealed Henge of Denravi. The eastern part of this zone is a confusing layout of water-filled canyons crossed above by thick wooden trunks, and is home to numerous trolls and skale.

Getting there[edit]

Exit from Henge of Denravi or travel through Ettin's Back and Dry Top from Ventari's Refuge. The primary quest Passage Through The Dark River will lead you through here.

Notes[edit]

Gw2logo.png The Guild Wars 2 Wiki has an article on Tangle Root.
  • Lone Jungle Trolls may be accompanied by a pair of hidden Life Pods and, rarely, a few Moss Scarabs.
  • Complete exploration of this area contributes approximately 1.71% to the Tyrian Cartographer title.
    • There are (at least) three ways to reach the upper pathways of Tangle Root:
      • Turn at your first left uphill after leaving Henge of Denravi.
      • Turn right after leaving Maguuma Stade.
      • Turn north uphill by Old Joness and the Statue of Melandru.
  • Vanquisher runs of this area without active quests require defeating around 210 foes. Including quest influences, it has been reported to range from 191 to 239 foes.
    • There a lot of hidden Moss Scarabs and Life Pods.
    • The count increases slightly during Defend Denravi. However, since you must kill many of these foes during the quest, some players find it simple to continue to clear the zone. If you choose to vanquish titans, be prepared for Wild Growth popups (only some of which can be avoided) and Rotting Titans.
    • In the southeastern section, foes are located close by on different levels; watch your aggro range.
