Console Release[edit]
- After many years of requests by the community, we are proud to announce Guild Wars: The Complete Collection will be coming exclusively to the Google Stadia in April 2023!
- Guild Wars: The Complete Collection: Console Edition will be available for pre-order starting today.
- Pre-order to receive one free Miniature Reward Ticket for use in both PC and Console versions of Guild Wars. Tickets can be redeemed at the Priest of Balthazar to receive a single undedicated miniature of the player’s choice.
Steam Integration[edit]
- Link your Steam account to your Guild Wars account to receive a free Divine Aura Access key.
- Weapon trading is now supported on the Steam Marketplace. Purchase your favorite weapons using your Steam Wallet or a credit/debit card.
World Changes[edit]
- Several additions have been made to the Isle of the Nameless to introduce PvP and PvE players to game mechanics.
- PvE: Newly created characters will now be required to spend a minimum of 3 hours, measured by the “/age” special command, in the Isle of the Nameless before progressing to their respective campaign start.
- PvE: The Master of Conditions has replaced his students with one group of Eye of the North Mantids. in an effort to accurately reflect PvE gameplay.
- PvP: Added Quartermaster of Knocking.
- PvP: Added Chiizu, Master of Dance.
- Helmets or headwear are now required in all towns and outposts.
Custom Campaign Options[edit]
- Added 4 new options when creating a new role-playing character. These options customize the PvE campaign experience and are as follows:
- Ironman Mode: Xunlai Chest is disabled. Addition of henchmen, heroes, or players to your party is disabled. Rare Material Traders and Material Traders are unavailable in this mode. Additionally, before selecting your Primary Profession an automatic post will be created and posted to the subreddit r/GuildWars asking for advice.
- Guild Wars Classic: All characters will start in the Prophecies campaign. All particle effects have been disabled. All game functionality is rolled back to how it existed on April 30, 2005. See Sir Tydus in Ascalon City for a new exclusive headpiece, the Rose-Tinted Spectacles.
- Returning Player Mode: In this mode, you will start in Kaineng Center at level 20. You will begin with a pre-loaded Hero team consisting of 5 Mesmer Heroes, 2 Ritualist Heroes, and 1 Necromancer Hero, all with builds from the current metagame.
- Easy Mode: This mode is identical to Returning Player Mode with two additions. Your inventory will contain 250 consets and GWToolbox will always be enabled when playing in this mode.
Title Track Updates[edit]
- Gamer Title Track: Added new ways to earn Gamer title points during non-festival months.
- Link your Twitch.tv account to your Guild Wars account to earn global double Gamer points.
- Killing a monster or enemy players will now award 1 Gamer point if any of the following are equipped:
- Voltaic Spear
- Bone Dragon Staff
- Slim Spectacles Dyed Yellow
- Chaos Gloves
- Envoy Scythe
- More to be added in a future update.
- Zaishen Title Track: In addition to the rank emotes, we have decided to reintroduce the Fame stick for the Zaishen Title Track. Each rank achieved in the Zaishen Title Track will increase the size of your Fame stick. Speak to the Priest of Balthazar to obtain your Fame stick.
- New Title: Complete all 3 campaigns and the Eye of the North expansion entirely solo (no henchmen, heroes, or other players) to unlock the “Shady” title.
Skill Updates & Additions[edit]
- The “/jump” special command can now be used to avoid the knockdown effects of Giant Stomp
- Shadow Form: increased Energy cost to 25, recharge time to 90 seconds.
- Farmer's Scythe: added the following functionality: “You deal an additional 400 damage when surrounded by 15...7...5 foes.”
- Necrotic Traversal: changed functionality: "Teleport to the Guild Wars 2 story. Removes Hyped condition (5...17...20 seconds). Affects all Living World episodes. Exploits a fresh corpse."
- Seven Weapons Stance: changed functionality to: “For 3...17...20 seconds, your weapon attributes (excluding Hammer Mastery) are increased by +1...12...15 and you attack 33% faster. The skill name will be updated to “Six Weapons Stance” in a future update.
New Skills[edit]
- ”Get Out!”: All enemies within earshot move 100% faster directly away from you for 5 seconds.
- Thousand Blades: Elite Skill. For 150 seconds, whenever you attack with a sword, all adjacent foes take 100...220...250 slashing damage.
Heroes[edit]
- Mercenary Heroes in your party will now require 1 each time you enter a mission or explorable area.
PvP[edit]
- Considering recent events that have occurred in the Automated Tournaments we have made the following changes to the tournament format:
- The tournament will now be fully automated. The timing of scheduled matches will remain the same.
- Players will no longer be allowed to participate in the tournaments and will be replaced by henchmen teams composed of the current meta.
- For this month, the henchmen teams will consist of 8 Mesmer Henchmen.
- Purchasing cape trim has been moved to the newly introduced Armor Trimmer.
Miscellaneous[edit]
- The Shard of Brilliance is now a consumable item that when consumed, will cure disease and poison.
- New Tonic: The Everlasting 1% Tonic is now available for purchase from the Scrying Pool for 1750 Armbrace of Truth
- Gobrech Stonefoot now sells Chaos Boots for 10 250 and 75
- The chat filter will now change filtered words to “RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO”
- King Adelbern demands the Great Northern Wall will be rebuilt. The Charr will supply the funding for its construction.
