About the Desbreko

The Definition of Desbreko

According to the Hyrule Encyclopedia, "Desbrekos are huge skeletal fish with sharp teeth. They have no stomachs to fill, but they nevertheless enjoy inflicting pain on the living." But don't worry, I'm not actually that vindictive. Usually.

Desbreko in Person

There's not a lot to tell about myself, really. I'm an avid video gamer and anime fan residing in California. Other hobbies include writing, reading, web design, and a bit of dabbling in graphics editing. I also spend a fair bit of time online, bowsing forums among other things. In particular, I frequent OtakuBoards, an anime and gaming forum where I'm an administrator.

Desbreko in Game

I'm one of the few, the proud, the monks. I enjoy playing healers and keeping people alive, and that's what I do best. But, when I'm not making red bars go up, I enjoy playing most of the other professions as well.

Besides the more serious objectives in the game, I enjoy trying out anything that piques my interest. Whether it's a new farming build or finding a Zehtuka's Pack just because it's an odd little item to have, I enjoy doing things for the experience of doing them.

PvE is my first and only love. I've dabbled in PvP, but it's just not really my thing in RPGs. I enjoy ganking people with an assassin in alliance battles every now and then, but other than that I rarely play PvP.

Current Activities

As expected, Eye of the North is a blast and I've been putting a lot of time into it. Right now I'm working on Arik's Master of the North title, as well as completing all the quests. Other top priorities include getting the eternal conqueror statues for Arik's Monument of Honor. So far I've gotten the Sorrow's Furnace one—[Rare] owns SF like no one else—and it probably won't be too long until I get the others.

Desbreko's Characters

Arik is my primary character and has by far the most play time and accomplishments. These include, but aren't limited to:

Elementalist-icon-small.png Amelia Starfire

My cute elementalist, Amelia specializes in raining fiery death upon her enemies—in case the name didn't give it away. I also enjoy using earth magic at times.

She's named after Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun from the anime Slayers.

Ranger-icon-small.png Fina Silven

I've done everything from trapping, to Barrage, to pure Beast Mastery on Fina. She has a level 20 Dune Lizard named Cupil which is the greatest pet ever.

She's named after Fina from the game Skies of Arcadia, and Cupil is likewise named after the original character's pet.

Necromancer-icon-small.png Eve Blackwind

Both curses necros and minion masters are totally the hax in PvE. Every time I play Spiteful Spirit I wonder why it hasn't been nerfed yet.

I totally forgot about the henchman named Eve when I named her.

Assassin-icon-small.png Chloe Namir

I love my assassin. I love playing my assassin in PvE. But what I love even more is outliving warriors and showing people that we're not all noobs.

She's named after Chloe from the anime Noir.

Warrior-icon-small.png Edward Montblanc

Sometimes you just want to grab an axe and start hacking. For those times, I have Eddie. Instead of tanking, I take the approach of killing enemies before they can kill me. And it usually works.

He's named after Edward Chris von Muir from the game Final Fantasy IV and Montblanc from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Mesmer-icon-small.png Meilin Tsao

Meilin is the pretty mesmer that I couldn't resist making. But she's not just eye candy; it's incredibly satisfying to mess with enemy casters using Domination Magic.

She's named after Meilin Li from the anime Cardcaptor Sakura.
