Ah, yes... Shiro Raion. The infamous White Lion of Kaineng. She struggles so hard to overcome her heritage, her predilections towards killing, her very name-- for a tiny slip of a girl to be named for the most infamous man in Canthan history, it made for some particularly... dark... days in her young education, I'd imagine. There's nothing worse than being tortured by bullies simply for one's name, and it would appear that such tortures only served to build her into the woman she now is. When one is researching the expanses of the Jade Seas or plumbing the depths of the Echovald for tales to terrifying to tell, it makes sense to have hired only the best mercenaries to protect you. Even then, most mercenaries know that a simple "accidental" slaying in those nearly uncharted regions can be profitable if one's boss ends up dead, his purse split among the conspirators. But hiring the White Lion to guard you from your own caravan? A stroke of genius, I must say. Before this trip, I've never slept more soundly at night. |
