OMG Major Problem!

Fall, help, I dont know what to do, I jst shut down my PC and turned it on again and when I opened GW it stared repairing files or sumink, and when I logged on all my chars armor where starter armors, not my usual elite sets! Its started loading the whole thing again like its just lost all the data, atm its downloading ~19,000 files for my main char. I havent managed to get on to the game yet but im really worried ive been hacked! =( Jay 00:40, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

I saw your msg on Anja's talk, but Anja is asleep atm. I can try to answer this for you. If you have a power failure sometimes the gw data archive gets errors. So when you start the game again it repairs the archive. It is not very likely that you have been hacked. Check out repairing data archive although that article doesnt have too much information yet. Gaile Gray said that her faulty power supply might have been causing regular errors. Any power fluctuation could produce the same results. - BeX 00:55, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Thats exactly what happened, its still loading, but on the char select all my chars armors where different, at first i thought it was a hacker, but now ur saying it can be a data malfunction? Jay 00:59, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm sure it's just an error in the .dat file. The armor bug happens sometimes. When you log in and out or onto a char and then back to char select it should show the right armor for all your chars. That one has happened to me several times (and scared the crap out of me too). - BeX 01:06, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Ive had a few times where I have reinstalled guildwars and had default skins on my characters, its not really a big deal :) glad everything worked out Fall 01:20, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Category noninclude?

GWW:PR/II

yay, just noticed you added yourself to the list :) Also noticed you corrected you Stonehart spoof.
But are you using texmod or the GWDatBrowser? You seem to be using the undyed versions of the item skins. But that's the clue with greens: Most of them have a special coloring, so you can't use the GWDatBrowser for them. You should rather use a program texmod instead. Compare for example your version of the Image:Quivering Blade.png, and the old version from Pyron. Quivering Blade is a black dyed version of a Sunqua Blade, and the icon you uploaded is equal to Image:Sunqua Blade.png, though it actually has a black handle. —ZerphaThe Improver 14:45, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Renders

If they are not done my Emily they are not rendered, they are considered improved screenshots, as Emily uploads better renders than anti lamer, so they should NOT be marked as rendered. Fall 16:55, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

We have had this discussion before on the wiki, only mark it as rendered if it is done by emily, that way she knows what she has not yet uploaded, while lamers renders are good emilys still are better, so unless its uploaded by emily it should not be marked, that's now to say others cant upload renders, just don't mark the ones not uploaded by emily. whilst the antilamer ones are better than nothing, i think the official ones are better. however are we likely to ask Emily to concentrate on images with no renders before we ask her to replace the ones that are done by antilamer? perhaps have a third symbol for intermediate render present so we can distinguish? That ones Emily did do as it exists here Image:Necrid Horseman.jpg as a duplicate. very confused as to why the backsword one exists at all to be honest. While AntiLamer's renders are almost perfect imo, some of them still seem to have minor glitches (see talk page, Liche and Gordon once claimed about that). I'd prefer Lemi's idea with the third symbol. A transparent checkmark for example could do this. Aye, let me clarify. We know that the hostile creatures in elite areas belong to a specific group, representing the followers of the boss creature there. At least that's true for Dhuum, Urgoz, Mallyx and Kanaxai.

That's not to say that we have a given name for these groups. I've been looking for something official, or at least entrenched in the community, but haven't found any. 'Urgoz' is just shorthand, and can be replaced later if we decide on a name. Backsword 05:59, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

It's a bit annoying because it's the only checkmark not done by Pullus. :P I noticed in the file history that you seemingly at first used a recolored checkmark from him, but reuploaded the current one, seemingly as the other had a little shade at the bottom. Hello :). I noticed you edited Vencel's article and, after some checking, realized that I forgot to upload the second map. Definitely "my bad". I followed the format I saw being used for other NPCs appearing in both Pre- & Post- Searing Ascalon. Besides the map is their some other reason for the change? According to the Bow and Hammer article, these weapon's names are thought up, and their true, official english name is unknown...it's a bit dumb :/ We' d need someone with those weapons and have a look at them. glitchy icons
