[edit] Salvage and Loot
Salvage is gained by farming various areas and is not a method. Salvage and Loot could be considered interchangeable terms . Most of the time farmers are out getting the loot or the amount of loot they want because it helps them get what they need. Many common crafting materials drop frequently from certain types of monsters (e.g. Chitin Fragments from devourers). In Cantha and Elona some craftable rare materials, such as Linen, can also drop, although they seem to be more common in Cantha than in Elona. Salvage/Loot could include various weapons, focus items, runes, materials, keys, items that salvage into materials and gold.
[edit] Material traders and rare material traders
These NPCs sell crafting materials.
[edit] Artisans
These NPCs can convert common crafting materials and gold into certain rare crafting materials.
[edit] Trade
Other players are a source of nearly any item in the game.
[edit] Trivia
- Prior to the May 29, 2008 game update, some artisans carried a recipe for a rare salvage item "Clay Brick"; however, there is no record of its common salvage ingredient, "Bricks of Mud", ever being obtained, and there was no known use for either item. Neither were ever given a slot in the Xunlai materials storage.
