[edit] Walkthrough

You will not have to fight anything, so concentrate your bar on moving quickly. Try to get a permanent moving speed boost of 33% or more.

After entering the area, talk to Sif Shadowhunter to start the timer. Look at your radar, the quest indicator will help you find your next goal.

You will now first have to use both barrels (drink from them) next to Sif. Now run to the Keg of Ale stack, pick one up, and carry it to the Keg Stand. Repeat three times, then run back to the two barrels next to Sif, and drink from both of them again. Next you will have to run the slalom. Be careful not to get close to the inner side of the flags, since even if you already passed them on the far side, you can get disqualified if you move too close to there.

Run back to the barrels, drink from both and then head to the end of the slalom track. The quest indicator will also show you where the pen is. You can direct the piggies by bodyblocking them from where they should not go. Whenever you come near a piggy, it will start running for a short time, so look out you don't guide them in the wrong direction. Although they will not speed up as usual, you can also try to get three piggies near the pen before starting the tournament to make this part of the quest shorter.

This trick might take a bit longer to do, but you will not fail doing it. Simply bring 3 pigs in the pen before starting the tournament. You will complete the whole questline before even starting it.

[edit] Dialogue

[edit] Initial dialogue

Olaf Olafson

"What are you doing here, small fry? Come back when you're old enough to drink. What am I talking about? The Great Norn Alemoot is what! Test your skills...and your tolerance..in the time-honored tradition of competing under the influence. As four-time champion, I'm headed there myself to defend my crown. Best me and you earn your right to party with the boys. Are you big enough, tiny?"
Accept: "So big that I'll win teh Alemoot, tough guy."
Decline: "Ale guts aren't my idea of attractive."

Olrun Olafdottir

"What are you doing here, little man? With a girlie gut like yours, you'd pass out after two kegs. You're what I'd call a "two ale quail." What am I talking about? The Great Norn Alemoot is what! Test your skills...and your tolerance...in the time-honored tradition of competing under the influence. My father is four-time champion; I'm headed there myself to try for the crown. Best me and you earn your right to hang with the real largebellies. Are you big enough, tiny?"
Accept: "Big enough to outdrink you."
Decline: "I'll come back when I'm man enough."

Olrun Olafdottir

I can only bring one human to the Alemoot. You will be separated from your party. Are you ready?'

NoNot now.

Before competition:

Sif Shadowhunter
Our ale is the thickest, finest and most potent in all of Tyria! It'll cover you in chest hair! Your flimsy human liver will probably melt, but don't say I didn't warn you. Since you insist on proving yourself, I'll let you make your own mistakes.
Image:Tick green.pngI'll drink you under the table. (starts timer)
NoOn second thought, I value my health.

At start:

Sif Shadowhunter: Go! Go! Go!

If you fail:

Sif Shadowhunter
RACE FAILED
Image:Tick green.pngI would like to restart the race.
Image:Tick green.pngI would like to return to Olafstead.
Are you sure you would like to go back to Olafstead?
Image:Tick green.pngYes, I want to go to Olafstead. (sent to Olafstead)
No'On second thought, I'll stay here.
NoI'll participate in the festivities for a bit longer.

[edit] Reward Dialogue

Olrun Olafdottir

"By the gods! You have a stomach of iron, intestines of rubber, and a liver of steel! And that jutting chin reminds me of the mountain crags above my home. Good sport, my friend! Perhaps you're not the useless runt you appear! Next time I'll plan an even more robust challenge...."

[edit] Notes

  • Interactive objects
  • When moving the kegs, you do not actually need to 'interact' with the keg stand, just take the kegs near it and you will drop them automatically.
  • You play the slalom by going a zig-zag path around the flags. The side with the three strings hanging out is the "far" side. The detection is not forgiving, so give each flag a wide berth (around 5 to 10 steps) as you pass around its far side. Start at the bottom of the hill and head towards the "pig pen"
  • You must run exactly inbetween the flags, otherwise you fail the quest.
  • Time while drunk does not count towards drunkard title here.
  • Disabling post-process effects makes it so that the screen does not move around while drunk.
Bug Bug.
On occasion, you are given credit for completing the quest before having even moved the kegs of ale. - This happens at any time three pigs move into the pen of their own accord.
